We usually have up towards 30-50 of these spiders in our two yards, front and back, (we live in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Houston) whenever they show up and they begin showing up in June for us down here in south texas.

Not only do I have this cat living in front of our house as we live on the Bayou but I have his or her baby living with us.

I waited a long time to write this as I'm ashamed of our TPW stance on this. Just because you require unobtainable evidence doesn't mean there aren't any. You dismiss any sightings because you can't find any. A friend, a park ranger says she saw one but is reluctant to report it because it goes against TPW findings. I'm 80 years old. I've seen two and reported them to your group. First was in 1979 on the Moss Ranch, east side of hwy 16 directly across from the entrance to Enchanted Rock. I was deer hunting, sitting on a stool in some brush. It leisurely walked out into a power line easement. I later stepped the distance off as about a 100 feet. No mistaking this for a dash across the road at midnight. I did some research on this and was ready for the second one. Second was 16 miles north of Big Bend National Park, 11 miles east of Hwy 385 in 1982. Hunting again, we had stopped for lunch in the shade of a small tree. A pile of rocks about the size of a pickup 50 yards away. We saw movement and began watching it with binoculars. It was jumping around looking in the rock crevices, obviously hunting. We watched it for at least a half hour. Never entered my mind to shoot it for your verifiable evidence. I guess we need one laid out on tail gate or leaning on a low water flood gauge.

Standard chili recipe glad he didn’t use any beans lol we always pack pre diced onion,bell pepper etc one time we just froze chili that we had made at home and reheated it in Dutch oven was so great 😌

I came across one today hence the reason I am commenting and it scared the hell out of me. I grabbed a small stick and tried to see how it would react to a bit of vibration and it was chillin’. That web is without a doubt very strong because as soon as I touched it with the stick it felt like was tugging on some rope.

Really wished you had a close up of her. I just came across one in my back yard (Virginia) and wanted to id it. I'm pretty sure you're talking about the same spider I found. I can see similar thicker spots on her web radials, and your description matches.

actually that spider have a litte poison if you get bitten you may actually very hurt is will bleed a little bit and that poison bite can't make you sick or have a fever and if you have medicine is easy so you are safe for orb silk spider 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

This morning, I was taking a hike and literally saw a dark colored giant cat (about the same size as my dog) literally cross the trail in front of me. It kind of freaked me out because of how large in size it was! Like a giant cat, with a very long tail. So I did some research and I can say that I am 99% sure this is what I saw
