I actually liked Digger and Lorelai together because they seem to be on the same level, communicate, and banter well. They had bumps at the beginning but honestly they worked pretty well together. They also started dating when they were both in a transitional moment in their lives. I wish they had a real shot at least. I think the way they wrote him out was terrible. I love Luke as a friend with Lorelai but they weren't good together. Luke always went from being a simp to shutting down or lashing out at her. Lorelai was often walking on eggshells with him. At first it's about the fact Christopher is just around, which is normal for father (even him) and then later it's her afraid to talk about April and the fact he won't let her meet her. It's a toxic romantic relationship but a good friendship. And what little we saw of Alex, I liked him. Christopher and Lorelai have great chemistry. But the flirty back and forth with him was kinda ridiculous considering she knew he was a flake and absence father.
I liked Digger and Lorelai together at that time, too! As I say in the video, I do wish they would have gotten a better ending to their relationship. But I am also a Luke fan, so I'm happy they get together, even if Lorelai's last relationship ended badly.
Lorelai should have put her foot down, asked for more involvement and some money. He was clueless but no one held him accountable and taught him that he was being an idiot. He felt like it was okay because no one pushed him. He's selfish but not a bad person. They show him several times making (weak) attempts. Yes it's ridiculous he can't come to the conclusion on this own that he needs to be around more...but since he's clueless, someone should have been real with him. Much sooner than wait until Rory was 16+ yrs old. But the fact that Lorelai hooks up with him a couple times, then later dates/marries him is basically saying that she's okay with things. He has a meltdown with Gigi but that's normal. Many people have meltdowns like that with babies, but he sticks around and takes care of her. So he grows. When he marries Lorelai he's all in. He moves to her house, tries to adapt to the town etc. He's out of touch & still a man baby but he has evolved a lot since season 1. I don't think he's a good father but he gets better. But only after it was pointed out he needed to step up.
Thanks for this comment! I agree that, without anyone pushing him or showing him how to show up for his kid, he was clueless. It doesn't seem as though he had the greatest examples in his own parents. But I am glad for Gigi's sake that he seems to grow up a bit and is there more for her.
NO
Why do you say that?
Thank you. I like feminine things in Disney Princesses and then I feel weak because some feminists say liking feminine things makes you weak.❤
Women come in all shapes, interests, and personalities! From one fellow feminine girly named Laura to another, don't let others tell you what you should or should not like 😊
Jess isn't super talkative but, he is pretty clear that he wants to be with Rory and when Dean breaks up with her at the dance marathon he doesn't just jump on her. He makes sure she is okay, that Dean and her are really broken up and that she wants to be with him before going and breaking up with Shane. (unlike Dean, Rory, Logan, and Lorelei who all either cheat on or with someone in a relationship) He is also clear he just wants her to tell him if she hangs out with Dean so he isn't blindsided by it. He only really struggles to communicate about his internal struggles.
Yes! Jess is unsure how to communicate deeper issues and feelings, but he did communicate his boundaries with Rory.

Hello all! Due to some unforseen life circumstances, our audio drama premier has been delayed. We will let you know when it will officially be out as soon as we can!
OK look there's plenty to say about Dean. He has donee some god awful things to his wife, and I'd say Rory at few points, BUT the breakup thing? We are adults here, we have hindsight, and understanding that one day is not end all be all, but he DOES NOT. This is not his first girlfriend, but it is also not his 3rd. When I was 16 I could think like... a day in advance? Was he right? No. Was HE 16 AS WELL? YES. A lot of times what you feel at that age you think is final, it is not.
I agree that teenagers don't have the same understanding and emotional maturity we expect from adults. Nevertheless, him breaking up with her over not saying I love you back after only 3 months still annoys me 🫠
Liz wasn't a teen mom. She was young, but they never said she was a teenager. We don't really know how old Luke and Liz are. I assumed Liz was 20 or so from the story about Jess's father ditching. She was also married to Jess's father before Jess.
From what I remember, and from what a bit of googling showed me, is that Liz was at the most 18 when she had Jess and that she got married after finding out about the pregnancy. But 18 or 20, she was very young and very immature.
@yourlittlesistersproductions 18 would make sense, too. I have to rewatch, because now that you say it, I think they did say that once in the show. IDK why 18&19 count as "teen pregnancy," though tbh. 18&19 y/os don't face anywhere close to the same ones minors face. My aunt had her oldest at 18 and youngest at 19. Emotionally, she was definitely too young; most are until after 25 or so, but she had the legal ability to work the same hours and same jobs as literally any other adult person. She was able to graduate high school, too. I've never heard of someone having kids at that age who couldn't. She then went to community college, where staff is chill about parents bringing their kids to class with them, and became a nurse. Easy peasy as far as parenthood and career growth is concerned. No where near as tough as my friends who had kids before turning 18. I don't think any of them have even a GED since that is night school, so they can't really bring the kids if they can't find childcare, and a lot of jobs require a minimum of a GED or high school diploma. I don't recall them saying anything about when they got married, though, only that they did (i think they only brought that up once, too).
I'm concerned and upset
Same.
100th vid
Yay!
Disney just thinks ppl hate villains now fr 😅
Which is so not true!
The thing about the Cruella movie is that it's basically in no way connected to the Dalmation movies. And funnily enough in that movie they did give us an actually villainous villain without redeeming qualities.
It's as though they thought to themselves "How can we make this irredeemable villain sympathetic? I know, give her an irredeemable antagonist to overcome herself!"
I think Lorelai has more of the mother wound than the father wound. She always seems a bit more comfortable with her dad, even though she’s very on guard with both of them. It seems like she’s always aiming to please him and has given up on trying with her mother. Lorelai’s reaction to Richard telling her how proud he was of her success with the inn would be my best example for this. I still loved this video and thought it was very good, just wanted to give my thoughts! ❤❤
Thank you! I agree that her relationship with her mother is more contentious. We actually have a video on Emily and her parenting style and how it affected her and Lorelai if you wanted to check it out!
I really hate that Sherry left. If there is a different season eventually, I hope that Sherry comes back and we can see them reconcile and work together to raise Gigi.
I agree! Sherry leaving was really sad. Although it does seem as though she becomes a bit more involved with Gigi while living in Paris. Maybe Gigi goes back and forth between Christopher and Sherry?
@@yourlittlesistersproductions yeah I did notice that. Maybe there is a chance for reconciliation later on?
@@Theinmy20sDiaries That would be nice to see!
@@yourlittlesistersproductions For sure! I feel like as a whole the plot of Gilmore girls still has a lot of story left. But it’s so cool to see people on TH-cam keeping the story alive
I think I would love to be Lorelais friend for the most part because she is quite caring. I would just way more often tell her what is on my mind and call her out if I don’t like certain behaviours. I hope I will never deal with a Paris, Emily or Richard and Micheal Scott is way to delulu for me. I also wouldn’t want to hang out with Gina from Brooklyn 99, Ross from Friends and everyone from HIMYM except Marshal. I also dislike the bossiness of Prue and especially later Piper in Charmed, I don’t know if it would be problem or not.
Oooh Gina from 99 would be rough! I forgot about the Charmed ones! Good list!
Hi, I want to correct you on Rory and Luke having no deep conversation. I am not sure how much this counts but when Rory was in a car accident she hates that everyone treats her as if she is the victim of Jess. One night she goes to Luke’s and they have a nice moment where they more or less express that the don’t villainies Jess as the rest of the town. When she knew that he was the only one on her side she came to him
They do have that conversation, you're right! I loved that moment, and I wish we would have seen more of those kind of conversations between them. I think it would have been so beneficial for Rory in the long run.
@yourlittlesistersproductions yes and thank you for pointing out that even though he treated Rory as his own daughter he was never the one to turn to when she was in trouble or wanted to open up (exceptfor that scene). I never thought of the fact that she would be lacking a father figure, maybe because I never experienced myself that a good relationship to your parents means that you can talk with them about everything. But my parents and I are trying to be better at making me feel safe to turn to them but there are a lot of wounds to heal...
@@larafranke1802 I wish you and your parents the best on your journey ❤️
I'm a Gilmore Girls watcher as well, and the devouring mother makes so much sense. I loved Emily's story in "A year in the Life", because she finally seemed to relax a little bit. In the future, I would love to see what her life was like growing up so we can understand why she was so hard on Lorelai. Maybe we would even find out that her mother has an illegitimate child as a teen who she gave away, that would definitely be interesting and would explain why she is so controlling. Honestly, I am surprised that they never dove into Emily's childhood throughout Gilmore Girls.
I am also surprised we get so little information on Emily's past throughout the show! They never meet up with any of her family, we rarely hear anything about her growing up, and Lorelai never mentions her maternal grandparents that I can remember.
@@yourlittlesistersproductions I know! Sometimes I wonder if they did that on purpose to leave room in future seasons of the show. I’m about to do a few videos on Gilmore girls and I can’t wait to do a deep dive on some of the characters
I will always be disappointed that we didn't see Luke and Lorelai's wedding in the original series. The sad excuse we got in AYITL was just awful. In my mind that's how the series should have ended; with their wedding.
Agreed!
More fighting less talking
Haha, always good advice. Haha
Ok I agree have absent or negligent fathers does alter their children's lives especially daughters, but Lorelei being her friend her whole life instead of a mother does not help at all either.
I do think that Lorelai went a little too far with being her kid's friend first, even if it does make sense given how she was raised. It just goes to show that both extremes can be harmful to a child's development.
Luke ist the sometimes grumpy but always engaged dad Rory needed. Thought, they don´t have deep conversations, this is something that is quite normal from my experience. Especially, when a teenage girl has a good relationship to her mother or also grandmother, aunt ect. My dad was always a good dad, thought, he wasn´t a great husband. He loved me and was interested in my life, but I always had a good relationship to the women in my life, my great-gradnmother, my grandmother and my mom. So, when I wanted to talk about serious stuff, I went to one of them, not to my father. Simply because they were teenage girls at some point in their lifes, while my father was a boy. Doesn´t mean, I didn´t trust him, he just wasn´t the right person to talk to about girl stuff back then. Would have beed different, if he was a single parent with no female family to help him raise a daughter. Lukes opinion is way more important to Rory than Christophers, as someone already stated in the comments. Christopher was a bad dad and never really an engaged father and I really love the scene when Luke calls him out for not being there.
I do see your point 100%. I think everyone has a different relationship with their parents or parental figures, and I think Rory wanted a father figure she could talk to (as evidenced by her relationship with her grandfather), but Luke was there for Rory in ways no one else was and their relationship was still impactful and important to both of them. Thank you for your comment!
I agree with you on all points. Luke is definitely the best choice for her and I am glad, the writers changed his character from being a woman to a man and love interest for Lorelai. I love their chemistry together and their constant bickering. I also really liked him with Lorelai in A year in life. At that point they were already together for a decade and it shows. I also liked Max a lot, thought, he never really fitted Lorelai. I can´t stand Christopher, but maybe more because I know how it feels when the father of your kid is just absent and doesn´t really care most of the time, so being a bad dad just degrades every men in my opinion.
Thank you! Yes, I really like Max over all, but they just don't fit together in the end.
Jess gets way too much credit for Rory going back to Yale. Don't forget he tried to get Rory to runaway with him and leave Yale her freshman year. I get having compassion for Jess but can't blame most mothers for not wanting teenage Jess dating their daughter. He was rude to everyone but Rory and engaged in criminal behavior. Maybe he cleaned up his act, but he most definitely had not before he left for California.
I agree, actually! With the part of him being a teenage punk, anyway. I don't think he was a good boyfriend to Rory at that time, and I agree that he was rude to just about everyone except her. He is one of my favorite characters on the show because of his growth, despite all the odds being against him. And understanding people's behavior does not excuse it :)
You’re talking about an incident before he had his character development. Everyone knows Jess was unstable, selfish, and flighty in the beginning but he obviously had a change by the time he got his first book made. His past mistakes don’t negate the fact that he’s the only one that was able to get some sense back into Rory. Dean was nice but never truly understood her. He was just supportive (sometimes) when he wasn’t even sure what he was supporting. Logan was more intellectually on her level but he never wanted to change his position in the world. Even though he didn’t like it and rebelled against it, he never put any effort into running away from it or choosing something for himself. Jess is the only one that matched Rory’s intelligence and had some ambitions for himself. Not always, but it was there. They understand each other and he’s the only one that brought back a glimpse of the old Rory with that speech of his.
@@ErisWriter I'm sure due to the magic of television, Jess has completely changed and is this awesome guy. But in real life, guys like Jess stay jerks. They can keep up for a day or maybe a week or two.
@@doesitmatterwhoiam8838 you're right. It's only on TV that anyone changes between 16, 18, 20... even up to and beyond 30. In real life, everyone stays the same. Maturity, attachment style and personality never change after having more life experience. There's no such thing as growth or working on yourself. A 16yr old is as developed as it gets.

@@williamroark7449 lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you don't know what real Stockholm syndrome is
@@pandulce4447 Okay, so as the person said to have Stockholm syndrome you must be help by a kidnapper and form a sympathetic bond. In this case scenario the creator and anyone who is stupid enough to agree believes, because the Beast has a legal justification to hold Bell under the pretense that her father trespassed and she has taken his place, that she is not being kidnapped. She is factually being held against her will by some rich guy. If I were to walk on the lawn of Elon Musk and he were to take me against my will for trespassing, then I form a sympathy for him would you not say the same? Hence, you are wrong. She did.
@williamroark7449 I'm glad you are so passionate about this! But the point of the video wasn't the definition of kidnapping it was that the Beast changed. I agree with your Elon analogy that could be Stockholm Syndrome, but that's the point of the video, Elon would have to change his heart, repent, let you go, admit his behavior was wrong and realize that using another person to get what you want is wrong in order to be the same as Beast. We know Belle didn't love him while she was in the castle or he would have turned human. It was AFTER he repented and changed that she fell for him. Thanks for the comments!

So mad at what they did to Gal. They lied to her, cut her songs, and are using her worst take for the finale.
I haven't seen anything about that! Where did you see that?
I get this! I actually have had friends exactly like that. I'm only still friends with one. So yep, I get it. Great video! You should do the opposite now! 5 characters you love and wish you were friends with.
Jess is algo Who saves her career in the revival. He gives her the idea for de book that Will ultimatly be her break through
Rory does go to Luke when she drops out of Yale. It feels like she wants to talk but doesn't fully have the words. This was season 6 episode 2.
I do remember that, yes! I thought it was sad that she wasn't able to articulate her feelings to Luke. Even though she was there and sad, she wasn't able to communicate with him, and that's what she needed to be able to do, communicate with a father figure person in her life. She was missing that.
@@yourlittlesistersproductions Yeah I would agree with that. I wish the show gave them more heart to heart moments.
No, she's not
Why do you think she's not a good mom?
Anyone else think Christopher took NO role in helping raise Gigi at the start and Sherry was going through postpartum and went to get BETTER. Plus I bet Sherry had a way better job that Chris wanted her to give up to raise Gigi so he wouldn't have to.
That is a very probable theory, sadly.
Sherry ABANDONED her infant child. That's not on Christopher, that's 100% on Sherry. You are a sh!tty and selfish person to just up and abandon a helpless baby. You can't crap on Christopher for not being there for Rory and give Sherry a pass for doing something far worse.

Children who are abandoned by one of their parents are traumatized even if it happens before they can remember. The other parent is traumatized. No matter how well that parent compensates, it causes disfunction, and the alienated child and parent don't warmly welcome the estranged parent in and out of their lives. This storyline and the way it was written was horribly gross and literally craps all over the levity of abandoning a child.
Yes, I think they definitely took the trauma Rory had from being abandoned by her father way too lightly! They mostly use Christopher as a plot device to help move storylines forward, rather than really dive into how his actions affected her.
what are you criticizing Christopher for here? he got a stable job and made himself available to Rory
Later in the series, yes, Christopher does get a stable job and has more contact with Rory. I actually have a deep dive video into Christopher if you want to hear a more nuanced look into him and his relationship with Rory :)
he should get all the credit for getting a job and even being good at it. there's nothing wrong with working at Walmart.
Are you talking about Jess and when he works at Walmart in season 3? I'm not criticizing Jess, he was a good worker there, and there is nothing wrong with working at Walmart, I agree. I was, however, looking at how he was raised and how that affected him and criticizing Liz for her part in it.
