I'm really curious how season 3 will turn out and I wouldn't be too surprised if none of the clues and theories were actually true (except for some rather general ideas like: we will see Crowley and Aziraphale again) . Wouldn't that be fun? 😀 Anyway, my opinion on (most) clues and theories is: we should not forget to consider things just being what they are instead of always assuming they are or mean something else. Yes, maybe everything in this show is very deliberate and meaningful, but that doesn't mean it cannot be meaningful just in the scene we see it in. That actually should be the primary significance of almost anything because it is what makes a great scene. And, as Sendarya pointed out, some things are just easter eggs - there to be found, fun, but with no further significance. Some 'Clues' might just be a personal favourite of someone in the production team. Others might be design decisions because that is what works best on screen (like the miracle plume causing a red alert - it makes sense to give it a reddish colour and it nicely contrasts the cold blue colors of heaven). One thing I noticed in the video, and that confused me, is how the word 'lazari' or 'lazari miracle' is used. In the show the lazari is established as a way to measure miracles (Crowley: "That's how you lot measure miracles?"). In other words, lazari is a unit for miraculous energy. Just like joule is the unit for energy and watt is the unit for power (and meter is the unit for distance). We don't know much about that unit, but apparently it is defined as one lazari being the amount of miraculous energy needed to raise a human adult from the dead. And obviously 25 lazari is a lot. But also tiny miracles can be measured in lazari (or maybe millilazari?), Aziraphale making a bike rack appear could be a 0.07 lazari miracle, Crowley making it rain might be around 0.1 lazari (I honestly have no idea, but it could be fun to sort all miracales we know about onto the lazari scale - anyone up for it? 😉) . Therefore, saying 'a lazari miracle' would be like talking about a 'watt engine' or a 'meter distance'. It is missing the relevant information of 'how much' of that unit. Anyway, that is how I understand 'lazari' and it had always been so very obvious to me that I never even gave a second thought, just accepted it as a unit to measure miracles. But apparently you interpret it differently, and I am at a loss to understand how. Can you explain it?

Thanks for this video. It was pure joy for me to listen to you and your thoughts and theories. In real life there is nobody to talk about Good Omens and sometimes it feels a bit … lonely, but videos like yours help a lot 😘.

This video got me thinking.... If the metatron is threatened by A&C's 25 lazuri miracle abilities, and that ability comes from their love for each other... why did he just let Gabriel and Beelzebub go and be with eachother? Wouldn't they also pose a threat?

I appreciate your short video note on the NG allegations. I’m still having a hard time getting excited for any of this at all, in light of how terrible he is. I agree fully that Good Omens is more than Neil Gaiman. I’ve said as much, and I was very happy to see you echo the sentiment! But I can’t get past how central he is to the whole production, including fan theories and speculation. We would ordinarily be looking to NG’s tumblr for clues. And it just feels so hollow now.

Re Hamlet: I think it’s notable that both David Tennant and Michael Sheen have each played Hamlet on stage and screen. Derek Jacobi (the Metatron) himself has played Hamlet over 400 times since 1957 (per Wikipedia). I don’t know that that’s part of Neil Gaiman’s plan, but … more of an Easter Egg.

Re Maggie: I read somewhere (source Maggie herself) that she had played Maggie as autistic. Then she learned after show finished that she herself was on the spectrum.

One thing I don't want in season 3 is for them to turn human. The reoccurring theme in the past 2 seasons is forming relationships despite all odds and to me it just won't be a satisfactory resolve for them to turn human. I definitely agree that there has to be major fundamental changes between the two sides for a happy ending.

About “It’s always too late” - I certainly do hope that this will be inverted in Season 3. Crowley has seen SO much NOT work out; I very much want things to work out well, even though they’ll probably go THROUGH some very not-ok spaces en route.

I have a question that isn’t covered in your great discussion. When Mrs sandwich gets to the bookshop she is wearing her usual clothes. When she steps through the door she suddenly has on quite sparkling fancy clothes. I don’t know if it means something or if it’s just a thing.

If they become human, wouldn't it be neat to have them walk out of their cottage together looking slightly more like they do in 'real life ? Maybe Crowley with a beard and Azariphale with a little bit of grey in his wild hair !

I think the derringer in a hollowed out book is important not because of the gun but because Aziraphale hides things in this way. I have a theory that while Aziraphale is in Scotland with the Bentley, Crowley is moving books around in an ungentle way that he was looking for those hiding places in hollowed out books otherwise the whol carrying books around makes no sense because Crowley doesn't read books and would not be a bookseller even at gunpoint 😂

Thanks for this. And especially as you've been struggling with difficulties of your own. Hope you're in a better place now! I haven't known what to think or believe or feel. I do know that I have always felt that Terry Pratchett's work epitomised being Human and being humane. For me GO has epitomised those things as well. I'd never been part of a fandom till GO worked its way into my heart. I still don't quite understand why it did. The thought of letting it go, or of it being cancelled is something I don't want to happen. It is more than one person. Whatever the situation with NG turns out to be, for me it doesn't negate the work of Terry, and John Finnemore, and David and Michael, and all the other creatives involved. Thanks again, Sendarya.

I love this panel, thank you all! 💜 The thing about humanity being capable of good and evil equally is a theme brought forward from the book, here's a quote from the book ; "And just when you'd think they were more malignant than ever Hell could be, they could occasionally show more grace than Heaven ever dreamed of. Often the same individual was involved."

For the smiley face thing: I think it's a reference to the Faustian bargain in Sandman #8 World End in the mini-story titled The Golden Boy. For the Theroy about them turning human/mortal in the end, I had that notion too. In The Silmarillian by J.R.R. Tolkien "Of Beren and Lúthien" where Beren (human) dies in the end but Lúthien (immortal elf) un-alives herself to beg the god of the afterlife for Beren's life. The deal is that they can both live again but as mortals.

For me the important thing Is that crowley do not turn back to be an Angel. For me this Will be annoyingly catholic

It's not just Good Omens. Fans of Sandman are struggling with all this as well.

Crowley’s memory. I’m convinced he says he doesn’t remember angels/demons just to piss them off. He always says it so dismissively. Furfur tells him they were together, that he rode on his back (something like that) which tells me he was quite engaged at the time.

I noticed some where along that when Crowley and Aziraphale change back to their selves time stops. All the people in the background stop moving. Is that Crowley or is it both?

Wouldn't it be interesting if Pride & Prejudice is the Book of Life? Or one of the books that Adam put in the reconstituted bookstore? The anti-Christ have some skin in the game. He trusts A & Z, so maybe would entrust them with the Book of Life.

These were interesting theories and clues i actually hadn't heard of some of these! Can't wait to find out.

I doubt they will become human. It would be sad for them to die after they find happiness. I want them to be together in their cottage. Aziraphale will have his books, and Crowley will garden and yell at weeds.

I want to know what the title of the book Aziraphale put the Deringer is in.

I don't know what this says about me, but as soon as you started talking about bargaining with God, I was inspired to write this poem, and it somehow feels fitting for Good Omens (I also changed the original pronouns "she/her" to "he/him" to fit better, I can picture it from Crowley's pov, though I wrote it more from a human perspective). The Bargain I pleaded with God To bring him back But no answer I received I begged the devil To restore him to me In exchange for my soul He agreed We lived together For many years Dancing In each other's orbit Until one day The devil came And my soul He forever claimed So here I reside Now damned below In hell once again But if you were to ask, I'd change not a thing For that little taste of heaven

All I want for season 3 is for these two(azi and crowley) be together! Crowley deserves that!

I won't go into it now, but this episode is my favorite out of all the Good Omens episodes. And maybe that's because of my own religious trauma, but this episode was so masterfully done at putting ordinary people at odds with the will of God and the decision whether to obey or not. I feel like this episode is like the crux of the conflict in Good Omens, a distillation of all the themes.

Thank you for this. You put many of my own feelings into the perfect words, though to be honest, I'm less conflicted about Good Omens as it applies to NG than I am conflicted about Sandman. Perhaps because I never saw Good Omens as fundamentally NG's work. It's always felt so much more like Pratchett than Gaiman, to me. So, while I don't think I can look at Sandman, going forward, without being wholly nauseated (shame, since my introduction to Good Omens, in the early 1990s, came about through initially being a Sandman fan), people can take Good Omens away from me when they pry it from my cold, dead hands. And that has NOTHING to do with its creators, or anything/anyone beyond the characters themselves. I'm very grateful for your words, and will continue to look forward to your content (and I'm sad events IRL kept you from enjoyinig Ineffable Con. It looks like a lot of fun.)

Good Omens is so strangely different than any other fandom I’ve seen or been apart of over the years. Something about it is-bizarre. It’s almost, dare I say ineffable ✨, I’ve never felt more represented in a show, never as safe. I found this show when I was consumed in my loneliness. It has quite literally helped me “*snap* ‘Let there be light’” turn on the lights to (chessy I know) Love. It is SO much more than Neil. It’s about all of The Ineffable Fandom, and our spark, our passion for these two bumbling fools. I love my little Ineffable Family.

Hi, I'm new here and I am loving you analysis very much! Thanks them I discovered the reachness of season 2 that I have to say I was not finding so good as season one. I haven't seen a video of your yet, where you speak about the thing that Aziraphale looks more or less quite the same through the time, while Crowley is quite different in every time they meet. Have you already done a video about it? I would find it so interesting.. Thanks for the videos and let's see if season 3 will come soon...

This is just my personal neurodivergent take, but I'm not keen on s3 without NG. I have seen enough productions butchered by poor showrunning (The Rings of Power, The Witcher, Game of Thrones...), and seeing as in the case of Good Omens we don't have an original source material to reach to, I would consider feel and robbed. Even if I watched it, I wouldn't consider it canon. Despite all, I want to know the story NG had planned together with STP, not a milking version Prime might put out instead. My perfect vision is that NG might offer to work on Good Omens not-for-profit, donating all of his future income to charity, the way MS always does.

I still cry when I think how 'no one' believed me UNTIL others came forward......and the road to healing is very layered because it can be so isolating & lonely.... *** Secondly ....I would like to echo your THOUGHTS that NO ONE person owns Good Omens....Especially those of us that have Metaphysical Mystic Philosophies there is a principle where the things we create (art, literature, music, ritual objects) become sentient entities of their own...."things" become autonomous...I am First Nation Tonto Apache & practice Earth Ways & within this spiritual practice the idea of 'owning' something simply does not exist....EVERYTHING belongs to itself.....My perspective is also unique because I come from the Entertainment Industry as a production designer, writer, set designer.....I have created events that truly 'felt' like my baby, like it was my CREATION brought to life BUT every part of me knows that this is hubris....Production crews, the Actors & Talent, Wardrobe...audio...lighting all bring IT to life....Productions, shows & events BELONG to everyone....You can't do it alone...it takes an army to create a production....What drives this home even more IS that G.O. Fandom owns it as well, through ART, fanfiction....video....and contributes to it's SPIRIT & Life Force...ALL of these creatives add to the Life Force.....It's ego that wants to say it is just one person's vision....the proof is HOW deeply different the Book is to the TV adaptation because of the actors of Sheen & Tennant.....The stories in the G.O. Universe, this beautiful & vibrant World became it's OWN and the writers adapted to what it was becoming & then G.O. became even greater than the sum of it's parts. *** Third....You can separate the CREATION from the creators. The proof is other fictional worlds created....Like Gene Roddenberry & Star Trek ...the world creator with the passing of time & other creators adding to the Universe as well have become timeless, Eternal & almost sentient.....Spinoffs and new cast members with plot threads of multi‐verses have been created so that new younger actors can portray Spock & Kirk ...All of this let's it spin out for decades beyond the original . ...Even though we absolutely adore Sheen & Tennant as Aziraphale & Crowley, we might witness in our lifetime another adaptation with different actors....Aziraphale & Crowley are NOW archetype classics to echo the Yin & Yang principle.....No ONE owns Good Omens, it belongs to the world & the collective consciousness now.... *** My personal note is YESSSSS....I can separate the Good Omens Universe from Gaiman because it was NEVER just him....never just one individual....Tennant & Sheen are part of the creation of this world too ....THE LOVE, the love from all these different hands will always keep that beauty because IT'S real...that's why you can feel it so deeply ....Years ago I did a show, did a set design for a Christmas event that ended up driving the STORYLINE ...it was very unusual because usually STORY & Music happen first, then the set design....It was only suppose to be for one Christmas and it ended up running for a decade....Every year SOMEONE else put a little spin on it & it got even better ...It went sooo far beyond my little designs & concepts that it became it's own....So I know from experience, that you truly DON'T own what you create, THINGS come to life and become sentient in their own way... *** I will continue to Love Good Omens....and adore Aziraphale & Crowley....they belong to THE WORLD..... Crowley told Aziraphale about the hellfire. When Gabriel shows up, Crowley reminds Aziraphale that Gabriel tried to burn him in hellfire. He must have told him something if he's reminding him.

Lovely video regarding the situation. On july 5th, the day I came across this news, I was very, very, very disappointed. To put it lightly. The Good Omens fandom has been a space I've felt at-home in for about a year now. All of my inspiration and drive for art and writing came from there. It's sad to see more and more cases of women getting preyed upon by men they admired or who had significant levels of power over them. So sad. It's sad that this man, Neil Gaiman, gained our trust by being an ally to our communities and seeming like a Superman of some sorts when it came to representation of queer and transgender people on TV, just to continue being lecherous without anyone batting an eye. My heart goes out to the women. All the women that got their trust shattered by men who wanted nothing more than power over them. Have a good one, Good Omens fandom!
