    Amanda, what would you say is the longest length of time to ask for considering a job offer? I was told that I will be hearing back from HR soon with a job offer from jobA, but I have one more interview pending with jobB. I would prefer jobB. And I think I have a fair chance to receive an offer from jobB since they are paying all expenses for me to fly out to them for an in person interview. I would ideally need 2.5weeks to interview and then hear back from jobB. Thoughts?

    Hi Amanda, how do you handle questions about your current pay or if they ask you to provide a w2? This just seems so awkward to me.

    • @theresumerx
      @theresumerx ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lori, it is not legal for potential employers to ask those questions or request a W2. It still can be uncomfortable if it's asked, so I usually recommend replying with something like: "I totally understand the question, but candidly data shows that women undervalue themselves when asked this question. So, would you be kind enough to provide a ballpark range for the role and I will let you know if it's aligned with my expectations."

    Hi Amanda! Very informative video. Question in regards to productivity pay. Is that something in addition to one's salary? Would this be a bonus on top of your salary? If it is a bonus, is it better to negotiate based off per extra patient seen or based off monthly quotas? Like If I am expected to see 15 patients a day and but see 17 patients a day, what would be fair to ask for?

    • @theresumerx
      @theresumerx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Afia! Great question - in most cases, yes, productivity pay (or bonus pay) is in addition to a base salary. Not every employer does this and sometimes the compensation is straight salary. If it's a bonus structure, usually the employer will have a pre-determined system that they offer the bonus. For example, they may track the patients seen over the course of 1 month and the bonus might be based on how far above that you are. Sometimes the bonus structure is based on RVUs and you might be paid a dollar amount per RVU seen beyond your expectation. I hope that helps!

      In some states, yes. In states that require a controlled substance registration, you often need that before applying for your DEA, and sometimes you may need a place of employment before getting that. (I recently did this in my state of CT, and they couldn't process my DEA until I had a practice location for that reason)

    • @theresumerx
      @theresumerx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Katlin - great question! You can absolutely add a skills section if you have certain hard skills that are worth advertising. I see a lot of people create skills sections with random skills (time management, listening) that aren't super impactful and worth taking up space on the resume. I think it's worth noting that you've had some hands on experience with lines but if you're not proficient I probably wouldn't put them in a skills section. Alternatively you could include this info under your clinical rotations...."Hands on clinical skill practice includes: X, Y, Z" (for example)

When I go back for my acute care NP where is that Inserted after the FNP because I got is second?? And which is first CCRN or CEN. Now when do you actually add Allllll of those initials vs just adding name MSN, FNP-C like we usually see. Do you use the different length of initials at different time frames?

    • @theresumerx
      @theresumerx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dee! Thanks for watching and this is a great question. Yes, when you get your ACNP you will list it after your FNP. In terms of your CCRN/CEN...you can list these in order of earning (it doesn't really matter). In truth, the majority of NPs allow these certifications to lapse and no longer list them, because they really are specifically RN certifications and not as valued once you're an NP. Lab coats, official signatures, etc can really just use MSN, FNP-C. Hope this helps :-)
