I became a Tool fan in 2005, listened to their backlog. Then they released 10,000 Days so it was still new and fresh to me, then they waited 13 fucking years to release another album. It was fucking horrible waiting that long. Then Fear Inoculum came out and it was like “totally worth the wait”.

Maynard used to do these weird, impromptu, bad-joke stand-up comedian skits on stage during Tool shows and then I found out he had a short career in stand-up comedy lol not surprising. First time i saw them in 1998 at the Palladium, they even had the guys from Mr. Show with Bob and Dave come on stage to do a quick and super weird skit about Maynard having a disease called "Entitlitis" pronounced like En-tit-a-lye-tiss. Like having tits inside or something lol idk but it was weird and funny. And also when they played Santa Barbara Bowl in like 2000 they played a weird song at the end where the screens were a bunch of dicks dancing around singing like 50's crooner music hahahah so fn weird, i love Tool ever since that show in 98, diehard fan ever since, forever!

I had my tonsils removed the day Fear Innoculum dropped. Spent the night in the hospital, high as a kite on leftover anaesthesia and crazy NASA grade pain meds, just listening to the album on repeat. Best time

Back in 2019 I remember being the first person to like their instagram post announcing Fear Innoculum, like a few seconds after it was posted

3:07 This is truth. I honestly think with 10,000 days 'wings for Marie 2', should've been the second song or at least before 1/3 of the album has played. I think it would have given the end of the track a stronger platform. 100% 7:00 the dynamic that is success is the actual dynamic. Like for me, when I listen to TOOL you can almost hear how much energy and thought has been put into each sound to harmonize with all the surrounding chaos and produces Music. Then this builds and has a layering effect and for me every time i hear the song again after realizing small subtleties in each nuance that become engulfed and is the only thing that exist at that moment. This is what makes TOOL amazing. For me.

The funny thing is, I look exactly like Maynard and live not far from his place in Jerome. I go up there every once in a while and stop by Haunted Hamburger for lunch and I swear at least 3 people stop me on the walk from my car to the restaurant every time, asking for my autograph.

Lyrical poets like Maynard are too cryptic. Yes, I enjoy the intensity of TOOL, as far as the music and sound is concerned, regardless of lyrical content. Yeah, it's powerful and I rock out with my friends in the Beemer, smokin pot and hittin the Jack. But Maynard's lyrics are so cryptic that I will never understand where he's coming from. The one thing I do certainly take from his lyrics is that he's a pretty crass, foul person. Yes, i'm sure prison, and prison sex for that matter, must suck. Were you ever in prison, Maynard? I just don't understand at all where Mr. Keenan is coming from because either 1)He's talking out of his ass or 2) His lyrics are too "deep" and cryptic for anyone to ever really understand them, lest they be Nietzche or Kierkegard or something.
