NVivo 12 tutorial - Introduction to import, memo and annotation
มุมมอง 53K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A quick guide or refresher on how to use NVivo. Demonstrated on NVivo 12 in Windows but could be quite useful for users of NVivo 11, 10 and 9 when you move onto this version, by choice or otherwise! This short clip reminds us what to do to get started, such as importing your data into NVivo, making memos and annotations as you embark on your qualitative analysis.
NVivo 12 tutorial - Classifications and attributes
มุมมอง 77K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A quick guide or refresher on how to use NVivo. Demonstrated on NVivo 12 in Windows but could be quite useful for users of NVivo 11, 10 and 9 when you move onto this version, by choice or otherwise! This clip reminds us how to set up attributes and classification in NVivo, which allows us to give our data (or file) additional information that we can use later to separate our coding.
NVivo 12 tutorial - Coding and uncoding
มุมมอง 221K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A quick guide or refresher on how to use NVivo. Demonstrated on NVivo 12 in Windows but could be quite useful for users of NVivo 11, 10 and 9 when you move onto this version, by choice or otherwise! This clip reminds us how to do coding in NVivo, probably the most important part of data analysis. We explore the different ways to code and conclude with how to uncode, due to mistakes but also dat...
NVivo 12 tutorial - Word frequency and text search
มุมมอง 41K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A quick guide or refresher on how to use NVivo. Demonstrated on NVivo 12 in Windows but could be quite useful for users of NVivo 11, 10 and 9 when you move onto this version, by choice or otherwise! This clip reminds us of the query function (the searches), with the focus on word frequency and text search.
NVivo 12 tutorial - Matrix coding query and crosstabs
มุมมอง 50K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A quick guide or refresher on how to use NVivo. Demonstrated on NVivo 12 in Windows but could be quite useful for users of NVivo 11, 10 and 9 when you move onto this version, by choice or otherwise! This clip reminds us of the search function, matrix coding query, as well as the new crosstabs search. Probably one of the most popular and useful functions after you have done your initial coding.
You just saved my analysis now without knowing - thank you! I did not know I could drag coded items from 'Cases' and drop in 'Nodes'. But, seeing you do it saved me the longer route.
thanks, great help, please note on MAC this works different, here are the steps : 1. go to …DATA>Files>Select all the files 2. once selected, right-click on selection>go to create as cases <<<<<now it has created the cases 3. go to …Case Classifications> create new classification eg. demo data, right click and the create your all attributes with its values 4. go back to CASES>Cases> select all the cases> right-click> select Classifications and select the classification you create ie. demo data 5. lastly, now select the Classification Sheet
Thank you so much!! I’ve been trying to figure this out for a week!
great tutorial 😀
Thank you so much! You made this tutorial super easy to follow, just what I needed!
Why did the reference number change when you tied your files to the cases (at 1:37)?
Thanks so much. Super easy to follow and very educational.
Thankyou so much, this has really helped me understand Nvivo coding for my report on Hurricane Katrina
Hi, I have a question, please. How do I see all data under one attribute, please? Thank you for your video!
Thanks for illuminating video! Is there a way to display (not select) the case names with their nicknames instead of their full name? Also, is there a way to put the case classifications and their contents, but not the individual cases in the columns? The classifications are more interesting to visualize than the individual cases in my project.
Thank you for taking time to create these tutorials. They were helpful and easy to follow.
Hi, Dr. Wong, are you from Singapore? You sound like a friend from Singapore.
All new to me. However, self-explanatory and need a tutor to master the lessons learned.
Thank you SO much for this video. You are really saving my dissertation! :D
I searched for a lot of tutorial, even from the official website of Nvivo, However, all of them hard to follow and missing alot of steps. they do not tell us how to create the code exaclty. and how to code the article. your tutorial is the best everything is clear and in few words and short time. you are the best Thanks

Thank you! Currently doing my Thesis project and this is super helpful. You now have a new subscriber :)
If you are doing content analysis of journal articles, is it OK to have pre-determined categories based on RQ and then simply use it for text search?
Very useful, thank you!
Thank you so much. Your explanation is very clear and informative.
Good thing is that you convey useful information in a short clip. Thank you Billy
2:33 onwards Very helpful 3:58 References and linking with a node 5:34 Really helpful (highlighting answers) 7:08 Highlight then drag and drop is easier
Theses menus are disappeared in NVIVO12!!
thank you
