Never Turn Your Back on a Friend was my 1st or 2nd LP iever in the 70s. Budgie greatly influenced my music appreciation. An outstanding & much-loved band, and I bought a lot more albums over the years. Thanks for the great music!

I still have my copy of this album after all these years. I bought it when it dropped back in the day. I remember a Guitar Player magazine that had a story of their upcoming 2nd album, which never materialized, After the band broke up I heard about a live album that is floating around the internet now. I also remember BBA performing on a late night live music show on TV, though the name of it escapes me know. They played Superstition and Jeff had his talk box hooked up. They wailed and it was awesome. So, RIP Jeff Beck, you left behind an amazing catalogue of music.

Just love these guys, they were one of my first ever real rock band choices in the 70's

Jeff actually wrote most of the music/feel/riff for the song "Superstition" - little known fact. Stevie finished the song and gave it to Jeff to record. They were supposed to release their versions at the same time until Berry Gordy heard it and put it out well ahead of Talking Book's release date, while Jeff had unexpected health issues and had to put off making this very record.

Like Anton Ego, every time "Black Velvet Stallion" plays I flash back to my latter two years of High School and my music like his first bite of Remy's Ratatouille and his childhood:-)

Burke and the boys as well as Glenn and Trapeze are two of the most underrated bands eva! Growing up in SA Texas both these bands were regulars and for me they keep up with any of the 70's hard rockers period;-)

Great band my mate got me into budgie mid 80s. Still give them a blast now and again. Underrated if you ask me should have been up their with some of the top bands of that time. 🇬🇧😠👍🤔
