Very cool, Joecat, It seems almost everything that's older is thicker and heavier. I've found and refined older vintage electronics that had a very good gold plate. Actually.. the small computer fan and the large fan at the end are both part of this fridge. I forgot 😬 and didn't include the power supply and two circuit cards. 🤪 Also, the large fan at the end of the video has bad bearings. Rottweiler, thank you for your comment and concerns. Yeah, I probably should have more warnings on this video for the battery weight and dilute sulfuric acid. All lead acid battery charging creates hydrogen gas. It takes about 5%~65% of hydrogen gas concentration to create a potential explosion danger. Doing this high current DC battery charging (descaling) outside presents virtually no hydrogen explosion danger. I suppose striking a match within an inch could pop. Millions of batteries are charged inside poorly ventilated garages every single day, and billillions of lead acid batteries are charging worldwide every day. All these hydrogen producing lead acid batteries every single day with virtually no reported hydrogen gas explosions? What? Yep.. it's not zero, but basically zero. Do you work for a battery manufacturer? For your clarification, I have been in electronics all my life and a field engineer for the semiconductor industry for over 30 years. I've personally and extensively used batteries of every chemistry (as they were developed for public use) all my life in radio control cars, aircraft, solar power, and almost everything there is. Carefully Descaling a lead acid battery outside wearing eye and hand protection is likely faster and far safer than driving to an autoparts store or Walmart and buying a new one. ☝️ That being said.. caution and not overdoing the dc current and also overdoing the time the battery is being descaled is always the POD (plan of day) Thanks much, stay safe and powered. Here's Johnny 😆 🤣 😂 I used Mr Swift FLEX seal clear. It seems to have worked quite well. Mr Swift knows 😹 I believe you need a DC Welder to do this descaling. An AC welder may descale the battery plates also.. but I didn't try it. It's probably best to use a DC Welder to be safe. 100% definitely improves the batteries I tested. I saw others cleaning the inside of the battery with water and baking soda.. but I think if the electrolyte is up to level, you may get away with just zapping 5 or so times for 5 minutes each time with a low setting (mine is 62 vdc and 60amps on low) this worked fine at this power. @@ProspectorTripp One more question... Is there any need to clean out any of the particles (from descaling or other) so that they wont again 'recake' part of the panels inside? I ask because some of the refurbishings I've done before said that you need to pour out and get all the 'bits' out and then replace the solution back in. I have no clue, so perhaps you can share some light?

@johnsaucerhunter I believe rinsing out the white greyish dirty lead sulfate crud with distilled water is probably a good thing. Deep cleaning with baking soda might be unnecessary? I don't really know, I'm just thinking out loud.. I didn't do it because I didn't want to see others dumping dirty lead sulfate and sulfuric acid from a heavy battery. Sulfuric acid is okay to dump somewhere safe, but the lead sulfate is not. I believe the lead sulfate after descaling will be in the bottom of the battery, exactly where it should stay. Lead sulfate is water soluble, and so.. is easily missed and dumped. Unacceptable imho My 2 cents bfam Zap On ✌️

@johnsaucerhunter Another point about the little lawn mower batteries I zapped.. They are filled with some fluffy material that keeps the battery acid from spilling. It's impossible to wash out the lead sulfate. Adding some fresh battery acid and then DC welder zapping is all you can do to these batteries. So far, these little batteries are performing better after zapping than the old tahoe battery, and the tahoe battery is behaving pretty darn good! ZAP ZAP ZAP ZAP ⚡️🫧🫧🫧💥 😆 🤣 😂 Stay Zapped

😆 darn bugger was borax welded! I finally hit it with a hammer 🔨 🤪 that did it! 😆 🤣 😂 I refined this gold from karat scrap.. (the easiest stuff to refine) and boom! A couple of refinements later it became very pure! I'm guessing it's 999+ As a side note.. I am STILL WORKING ON RECOVERING MY AMD CPU GOLD. Like life.. Making a critical mistake is really tough to recover from. No worries.. Yes, it does! I washed the material with water several times until the rinse water was basically clear. Then, another dilute nitric acid boil. The blue color is, as you know, copper. There was a tiny bit of lead/solder, but after the first rinse, I believe most was gone and, in fact, gave me no further trouble. I believe a better method for these pins would have been.. a hcl boil to cleanup the pins, rinse well, then the dilute nitric acid strip, then refine. Stay Golden Peace Prospector Tripp

These AEA air guns are really powerful, and loads of fun! 😁 They are good for me because I can't buy anything without modifying it! Perfect! 😆 I have looked many times at the Challenger Pro but lacking the necessary extra airgun moola. I do have two standard bullpup Challengers. A 22 and a 357. These two are both very accurate and crazy powerful. I also have a Semiauto AEA HP carbine in 22. It is also a very fun popper. It definitely requires some special attention and fine tuning to shoot reliably. Also, being semiauto it is not super accurate. If you decide to modify your trigger.. go slow and do not remove too much sear step and overdo it. I had to redo my 22's trigger to increase the trigger pull to slightly over 1lb as it became too sensitive for me! Go slow, sir. Have fun and stay safe, Gboutdoors Peace Prospector Tripp
