Love this performance. Thanks for positing it!
❤
Send me into space with this version of the Wounded Huzzar.
Looking forwards to the show at this year's Staithes Festival. What a star! KP
Fabulous
Love this
Brilliant
Brilliant!
Can I give this 10 thumbs up? Please? Its that good
There be a bit of Lark Ascending I think I hear? All the better if so!
Why is this being played in a church,
Why not? It is the music of the congregation
Superb!
when she misses her cue and laughs! i love her so much!
Such a beautiful song of love in it's purest form, extraordinarily powerful in it's unadorned simplicity. Wonderful instrumental and perfectly balanced accompaniment too. Very moving.
Wonderful. A treasure.
Read up on this, it's a lullaby from the Isle of Man. There's a (original?) version in Manx Gaelic with lyrics matching word for word, more or less.
Every one that goes to Canterbury receives a blessing. Mine was to hear and sing the Agincourt carol at evensong on my stay at Canterbury cathedral. My uncles all went a shore, on the beaches of Normandy along with the Canadians and the French and our alies in 1944. Thank you for sharing.
Lovely
Wonderful - Great playing and full of life - Love it!
Outstanding !!
Lovely.
So deep and haunting, great to hear these songs are still alive in the voice. 👍
wish the song always was not over
Love it.
Perfect
I love it that they are singing a bawdy folk love song in this religious setting. I bet this is the most glorious music that's ever been played in this establishment. God Bless Eliza Carthy and Saul Rose.
beautiful
Very special.Two virtuosos
Beautiful passion. And her fiddle resonating great emotion
Everything about this is marvelous: Eliza's fantastic fiddling, Saul's accordion, their great harmonies, and the delightfully weird lyrics.
Mad skilz!! 😮❤

Simply fantastic. So moving and lovely...she sings with all of herself, nothing is held back. As a Whitby dweller, I am more than proud to have her near. x
Girl. You know how to tell a story and address the public.🖤🍻☠
Sincere perfection. Parental joy. Eliza ...multifaceted talent beyond words. You make the fiddle speak.
Magnificent and moving
'I wish that the wars were all done'.....
Of the many times I have been fortunate to hear Eliza Carthy in concert over the years this was one of the most memorable, in a freezing church on a wet old night.
Gorgeous singing, playing and energy! Oh, and I love what she's wearing!
Sublime
What a woman what a vóice what as fiddle
So, so , beautiful, in every way.
what a great song ,Eliza does not forget in the end
"assume its going to the poor..."? oh, i admire your faith in the human spirit, dear Eliza!
MAGNIFICENT WELL DONE 👍
I believe more effort is warranted to merit the original author/artist the Mighty Sparrow.
We’ve credited Sparrow since we first recorded this brilliant song back in 1997. And we had the great honour to play a full band version for the great Tony Bailey, who toured with Sparrow for many years. My mum was a DJ for radio Antilles in the sixties and came home with a wonderful Calypso collection. Sparrow receives both credit and rightly earned royalties from Walker’s continued presence in our set ❤️🤘🏽🤗
Additionally, I’m delighted to say that due to Lane Steinberg last month I actually met Slinger in person. Well, on a phone screen anyway ☺️…totally fangirled…probably spoke more than I should have listened…but it turns out he loves our version. #diehappy
@@ElizaCarthy1you’re very talented. How can I check out more music from you?
i love this one! i love that the miller is such a lazy bastard that he'll chat this "buxom and brisk , young lass" up, rather that get out his bloody corn and do some work!
Marvellous ❤️
she's in charge of both the stage and her instrument. Love how she dances and enjoys the music. Excellent!
