The Can’t Understand Normal Thinking sign modification just about caused me to shoot whiskey out my nose! I follow their channel and completely missed that. 🤣
I wonder if Matt will catch this little faux pas. Should we tell him? I think not😎
Gday Benno, if you get a good run at it while it’s all fresh in your head it will make it a little easier to put the loom back in. Can’t wait to hear that engine run 👍🍻
Hi Robert, if I could get a couple of hrs out of the truck things would go a lot quicker. Cheers Mate🍻
@ sounds like there’s no rest for the wicked Benno. 🍻👍
Nice one buddy ypur getting there i did think that sign was funny one.
Yes I thought it was. slow n steady and eventually it will run.
if nothing else you are bloody persistent mate . i am doing my head in just watching . hope it goes well cobber cheering for you .
G'day Glen. I literally spend hours poking around with the multimeter trying to work out what is good and what's not. Doesn't make for good viewing. My head was done in with this a long time ago, I'm just to stubborn to let it beat me.
Been back on the gold son ❤
Yeah dad, everything is gold.
Haha talking about prospecting ya weridO have we got jungle Fever in the North 🙏😜
Thanks champ, seeing that dash apart and how the fan is located just made my day a lot better. Moved the fresh air vent and heard the bucket of leaves fall in and clogged the fan. Looks a lot easier to get to than I thought
Thank you Benno. Work? What work. Work don't bother me. I can watch it all day. The videos are good. Loved the song.😀
Benno you really love to challenge yourself 😂. I still take my hat off to you for putting in the effort 👍. Hopefully it all pays off soon for you. Happy new years and sounds like you need to make a curlew stew 😂🍻
Haha, thanks Robert! I do love a good challenge-some might say I’ve got a weird hobby of making life harder for myself. But hey, if it pays off, it’ll be all worth it! Happy New Year to you too.A curlew stew sounds like just the challenge I need! Maybe I'll give it a go sometime. Cheers!
Hahahahaha some have a hobby making life harder for others good to see your keeping your hobby under control 👍😂
gday benno., love watching you toil away you have more fu%%$@ patients than me . there woulld be shit all over the yard and me in a corner drinking myself stupid. cheers
G'day Glen. Don't know abt that Glen, have drunk myself stupid over this 80 more than once. filmed it once, wasn't a good look. Cheers mate glad ya like the stuff🍻
No fun pulling the Dash from a land cruiser. Tbf pulling the Dash from a vehicle full stop is a pain av done a few. I hate all the screws they put into them. Av had to do a few heater matrixs. Nice one buddy cracking Job. 👍Happy New year to you Pal.
Dead Right Ali, that dash was not a lot of fun to get out, going to be a mission and a whole lot of expletives to get it back in me thinks.
It's a lot of work Benno but will all be worth it when it's completed .
Hope I can live long enough to see that day. At this rate I'll be 90.
2020 started with fire in Australia 2025 starts with a car incident
Yep 2020 was brutal. What was the 2025 car incident?
@@BennosShed New Orlean had a deadly car crash and there were many casualties
lol. Open the doors when the engine's running. :P Happy new years to ya !! All the best for 2025 !!
Happy new year to you too Randy. opening the doors would be the smart thing to do but i'm not that smart.
Happy New Year Benno 😎🍻🍻
Happy new year Bert.🍻🍺
Happy new year Benno. Can’t wait to see the action packed 2025 👍🍻
G'day Robert, Yep less work more fun this year.
@ the work cycle is a hard one to get out of.
Thanks, Benno. Happy new year to you and your's. And please tell Mr. and Mrs. Skid Pig and the little skid piglets I said howdy and happy new year. ❤🎉
Will catch up with them in the next few days, will pass yr howdy on. Cheers
Happy New Year to you, Benno. I'm looking forward to seeing what's happening in the channel in the future. Looks like a not bad motor in the blue 80 series. Congratulations on the 1k buddy 💪👍
G'day Ali. Thanks for your support in 2024 Chat soon mate
You don't have a hard time limit to complete this project. You know the loom is good on the donor. Rip it out, swap it over and save yourself $300 and heartache down the track. You never know what you might find on the way when doing that, which could come in handy later too.
G'day Glenny. Yr right I don't have any time limits. That was the plan when buying the donor 80 and will probably stick with that. Cheers
hey mate i was your 1000th sub! congrats. I've recently inherited my dads much loved 80s series and its been nice watching through your videos. keep it up man i love the series
Hi Sean, woohoo congrats on being sub 1000, much appreciated. Keep us up to date on yr dads 80. Am glad your enjoying the build series, it has been a long one so far. Cheers
Good to see some action Benno. Definitely been some wild storms hanging around. I would check the wiring loom against the blue one just to make sure all the wiring is headed in the right direction. 👍🍻
Storm was to bad for driving truck so I got a little time to do some 80 work. Just going to stick with the plan and transplant everything. Cheers mate.
@ terrible weather for driving. Best of luck with it Benno Merry Christmas 👍🍻
Yeah long time no took buddy I see this is an older video ! what's that old f****** boss ot yours whats that kun# doing still spending money like it's going out of fashion ! .... which brings me here as this has been a topic of choice because it's pretty sure I have to go live in the bush like f***** worzel gummidge to poor to do anything else with gold prices now well over 4 grand and ounce it might be a good place to hide
That's really cool and great night drive bro. Interesting content and nice sharing. Keep it up. I'm glad to add my self to your channel. Greatings from the Philippines brother.
Glad to meet you, welcome to the channel. I bet you get some ripper storms in the Philippines too.
Famous last words this easy to get out 😂😂. ECU is toast check the loom first I would that's some rain and thunder.👍🔧Merry Christmas buddy
Hi Ali, yep that is a phrase that should never be used when doing this stuff😁. Not going to check looms any further, i know they are ruined, just going to swap the whole lot and be done with it. Cheers mate. Merry Christmas to you and Tina. 🎅
Hi, Benno are you selling any parts? I need the wire that connects the sub-tank to the sender and to the wiring loom. on the rear tank? can you help?
Hello Mr Johnno. Not selling any parts at this stage of the game. I don't know just how much I am going to use just yet.
@BennosShed OK, buddy. I just thought I'd ask. I don't wanna cuddle too. My wiring loan on the back of the 80.
sorry I meant cut my wiring loam
Good score Benno 👍. I’m curious why are you swapping the engine out with the one you rebuilt.
Pretty simple Robert. I can Lift the engine gearbox and wiring looms together and not disturb any of the plugs that will be as brittle as toffy glass.
Yep see where your coming from. Once bitten twice shy 🍻
Bloody ice cream truck in your vid had me pulling my earphones out one haa been driving around my area all day waiting for it but nah its gone hahahahaha
The one in the vid had been driving around for hours. Not many sales to be had here on a Sunday Its all factories.
G'day benn maaaaaaaate nice spare LandCruiser
Puts a 😀on my dial.
Some real nice parts of the donner. Handy it having a lift kit lots of work ahead 👍🍻
Its exactly what I need Ali
It's a Toyota what could go wrong mine just keeps going
G'day AL. Unfortunately I let the blue smoke escape from almost everything electrical due to a really dumb mistake on the silver 80. Was far cheaper to buy a whole car than try to source all the damaged parts and hopefully far less frustrating.
I still have to wire in my rear lights and delete the suff I’ve removed…. Also get my solar all set up… I’ll probably have to pay a guy lol!!
Yep always a heap to tidy up. Agree if yr not confident pay some one to do it right.
Just found your vids and already know I’m gonna be following.. got a chopped 80 outside is done I wanna do the interior nice and clean!
Hey Daniel its great to have you aboard. My donor 80 will be arriving in the next day or two stay tuned cause I might have some wheels turning real soon. Cheers mate thanks for the sub.

Bringing back memories of the Peter Jackson rodeo at the Sheraton break water casino, it was a great night. Cheers for the highlights Benno 🍻
Cheers Robert, was great to something different.
@ yeah it’s always fun to see riders getting flung in the air like a rag doll 😂👍
That’s always fun to watch. We have the Calgary Stampede Rodeo where I live and it’s a great show.
That was my first ever experience with rodeo/pbr. Amazing sport to watch.
Good work Benno. I’m curious would you have been able to 3d print a new cog ? Asking for a friend 😂. Nah I’m just curious
Hi Robert, if it had been the gear yes I could have 3d printed a replacement using Nylon/ carbon fiber filament. Could have also printed a housing if the welding failed.
@ that’s handy👍
I have 3 of them to do on a Golf 😂. On the golf mk5 the door skin has to come off right pain in the butt. I was just going to leave it till the spring. Nice one buddy good fix 👍
Hi Ali. Would you repair the regs on the golf or replace? I'm not familiar with the setup on them.
@BennosShed I have in the past replaced the cables in them.
It’ll all be worth it when you’re parked up by a barely accessible river with the awning out and a fire going and a nice cold beer. Yep hanging all your tools on the wall is so much better than the drawer system. Good work mate. Keep it up
Very true!
Damn Benno i know Townsville is bad but to have a trailer plug stolen is unbelievable. Careful next time they will probably take the trailer and leave the plug behind.
More pissed abt the petty tea leaf mindset and inconvenience than the $11.00 for a replacement plug.
@@BennosShed yeah I felt your pain that would make anyone furious
Dirty bastards!!!
Yep they are
Nice job, BENNO...you're quite a skilled guy--man, i hate thieves too. Lame jerks!
Hey JP good to see ya mate. Just faking until make it. Ankles all, 3ft lower than a C@nt
Benno hats off to ya brother the dedication you have thrown at the wagon is above and beyond 👍🍻. Stay focused and keep up the good work you will get it done.
Robert thanks mate, pretty much back to square 1 with this beast, all the original wire is coming out & being replaced with known good stuff. A whole lot of work I never planned on doing. I won't be beaten on this 80, to pig headed to allow that to happen. Cheers mate.
@@BennosShed awesome you found the donor vehicle Benno👍. Life hardly ever goes to plan it’s all about side stepping and jumping over obstacles 😂. Old 80s are worth saving 🍻
@@robertaus8420 Was lucky to find the donor so quick. been side stepping, jumping and dodging obstacles all my 60+ years no reason to change that now. Agree old 80's and def worth saving.
@@BennosShed yep obstacles just make it more interesting. Sometimes boring is better though 😂
@@robertaus8420 I'd be happy with a little bit of boring just now.
I hate electrical issues 😡
Going nuts with this one
Electrics can drive you crazy 😂. I know all about them i have done a few if I was doing it for a customer it would cost them more than it was worth. Best way forward doner vehicle. Of course its a cracking idea i wish i had a workshop.👍🤙🤙
Thanks for the vote of confidence Ali
Nice one buddy that hubnut was tight. I prefer the VW ones with the allan head they seem to come out easier. Normally them one's in the shock i can pop them with Milwaukee's M18. The vw Passat was that bad for cv boots i was able to do them without removing the hub. Good job mate
cheers Ali
Well done mate.
Thanks Mate
Hey Benno you showed great restraint in not getting emotional 😂. Electrical faults can be infuriating 👍🍻
Emotions were running high, fortunately editing
@@BennosShed hahahahaha yep sometimes we all need editing.
Well done mate. After having 3 GoPros and it’s infinite issues, I finally made the switch to the insta360 Ace Pro and love it.
Hi Viper. Have 4 GoPro's, 2 of them work "sort of". The Insta360 is one I am considering.
Don't see many Mazda car's over here. Used to but not as many now. They where really bad for rust from what I can remember. Looked a lot to take appart to do the shocks.👍👍👍👍👍
Did a bit of research and did notice that most CX9 in the USA were rust buckets that I would not squirt my water on if they were on fire, probably from areas that get the roads salted, no an issue here in Australia. This one is rust free fortunately. The amount of dismantling required to do a 30 min job was mind boggling. Seems to be pretty standard for late model Asia built cars.
