Ya in fact I even replaced my MAF twice the shop told me a lot of Mitsubishi MAF sensors from manufacturing come BAD 😔 … but when I put in the last one … no problem since then

I was replacing so many parts up until this point and it turned out it was my MAF (mass air flow) sensor that was bad, I replaced it and still issues so I took it back and was told it was bad after I just bought it so they informed me it happens a lot they aren’t made well sometimes and a lot of them are faulty … I put another one in and the problem went away car has been running great ever since

Could be what I dealt with mine was a MAF sensor mass air flow it would die out if I didn’t keep foot on gas pedal a bit

It’s possibly your MAF (mass air flow) sensor is starting to act up I went through this issue over and over even with replacing it ... found out a lot of MAF sensors are faulty

@@mauriceanthony5467 first and foremost- clean throttle body then look for vacuum leaks or tears. After you clean the TB- you need to adjust the throttle. Look up in forums how to do this...and join the Facebook groups! We all help eachother at Lancer Nation and a few others- depending on your engine type.

You can inspect the MAF insuring it isn’t defective at all cause that was my issue, but it could be directly related to the aftermarket CAI if not that then I would inspect all vacuum lines that also helped me out

Try the compressor belt could be not workin or torn, maybe not functioning properly or you can try the IAC (idle air control valve) I’m not 💯% sure 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m sorry u r having problems hope you are able to fix it soon 🤞🏼

I didn’t do any thing only cleaned the spark plugs changed oil and I put new air filter

I’m not sure tbh if you have the same car as mine you should have a mass air flow sensor

I have the same car, but it seems like the person I got it from bypassed it and replaced it with a cone filter, but I do have a MAP sensor

I don’t know about having that bypassed as being the best thing for our car when I replaced mine I have had no issues with this car (besides replacing JUNK AMAZON motor mounts again) since this video and it is still running good at this moment

Some models don't have the maf sensor, depending on where you're from, but there's a map

Bethanie Carpenter no other issues after the faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor was replaced ! Before this I also replaced my vacuum lines which were very inexpensive also .... good luck I hope this helps you

Ach Cru from my experience with it yes but I am not 100% certain to be honest I have only used it when I had the light on

@@heavyn_unleashed does it got system menu and then pgm-fi that's to reset the throttle body position to relearn it.

Ach Cru hmm I’m not sure I’ll have to check that out I’ve never had to go into detail with it usually only use it when I have a light on and plug in and fix the issue and clear code and I’m done super easy and very useful to have

ZambonieDude yes it was a faulty **brand new mass air flow sensor I bought** thought everything I did would fix it. Turns out when I exchanged the maf, put the other one in .....problem was fixed !!!! YAY

rekaepa no it was a faulty new MAF that’s why I was lost as to what else It could be, but once I put in the newly exchanged one it was fixed !

wowsplat yes those are all things I did as well ..... found the actual issue which was a faulty new mass air flow sensor I purchased replaced it with a replacement new one and finally car is running great now

Its your IAC ,im guessing you recently cleaned it. After you did that the computer went to default however it being almost 2 decades old those parameters arent ideal anymore. Take off the throttle body, clean the hell out of it. Get rid of all the carbon and dont spray into the thing but the rag itself. Clean inside of the manifold as best you can too but like 1 1/2 tge way in. The iac will adjust but rev it a few times. If your maf needs replacing then do that too but try this 1st i just did it today after hours of forum readings

rekaepa thank you yes we did that as well and then also had to replace a bad maf I purchased brand new and it was a lemon

Next time tap the maf not to hard just enough and if it stalls or drops the idle low it's a faulty maf and cleaning it won't help

@@eduardo9163 mine went from dead to reading well after tapping doubt it will hold up will order a junkyard oem I think

@@heavyn_unleashed how did u know it was the mas sensor, mines doing the same .. i clean the throttle body and injectors to no avail...

@@bcbjbggjh9102 cause I replaced all vacuum lines first didn’t fix it replaced the MAF didn’t work had it tested it was faulty they gave me a new MAF installed and all was good again

OGTeamTroll no leak I spilled water near it so that’s where the small amount of smoke came from
