Oh please. You are selling your home. Having your house clean and clear of clutter is one thing. You still live there, so it's the buyers responsibility to see themselves in it, not yours to make them do that. Expecting a seller to replace old lighting and get new furniture is plain ridiculous. You have to plug in your TV for it work. If someone can't get over kids artwork and TV wires showing they can just move on. No one ought to be expected to redecorate in order to please a bunch of strangers. The agent showing the house can always gently remind to less intelligent buyers that those 'awful' things won't be there when they move in. The only exception would the dome light and the buyers can put what lighting they prefer. It's also rather rude to tell people their HOME looks cheap just because they don't follow some designer 'rules'. Perhaps there ought to be more videos educating buyers on how to view a house.

Question. We are doing a new build and we are in the design process. In your professional opinion, would you have an entryway closet OR give that space to create a larger kitchen pantry? Right now it laid out where it is half and half, but I think I would like to have a bigger walk in pantry. Because who doesn’t need more kitchen storage right? Thanks!

Thanks for these tips! I live in a small single story ranch home and the open kitchen/living/dining area has high ceilings. The bedrooms on the back of the house do not. A few years ago, I had a contract with a general contractor to pitch the low ceilings and redo the roof line, but he violated the contract. I lost money plus local code has changed and it’s no longer feasible to redo the roof line. I’ve been mentally stuck on this but recently, I decided to embrace what I have. Your tips are helpful. Thanks.
