Review Seydel Saxony Chromatic Harmonica
The Origin of Sound - the SAXONY CHROMATIC - the first serial-produced chromatic harmonica with stainless steel reeds!
The SAXONY CHROMATIC has an unprecedented dynamic range and assertiveness combined with high durability - a dream for all players who, in addition to a very good sound, are looking for an outstandingly reliable instrument
The SAXONY CHROMATIC is one of our most popular chromatic harmonica models. Players worldwide appreciate the unique playing characteristics of the very durable and tuning stable stainless steel reeds. Due to the construction optimized for low air consumption, the player can achieve all nuances of sound ranging from soft to hard.
The SAXONY CHROMATIC has an unprecedented dynamic range and assertiveness combined with high durability - a dream for all players who, in addition to a very good sound, are looking for an outstandingly reliable instrument.
Technical details:
• Full, loud sound and fast tone response due to the stainless steel reeds: durable and stable in pitch even with heavy duty playing
Reliable valving - new windsaver material
• Less air-loss due to optimized reed plates made of German Silver - optimized flatness and extremely small tolerances between reeds and reed plate slots
• Silvered mouthpiece with round openings
• Improved slider package design* - optimized for air-tightness and comfortable action (*refer to tip 1 in the TIPs section)
• New matt cover plate surface - comfortable on the lips and glides easily during playing
• Cover plates opened wide at the back and crimped to allow the overtone-rich sound to spread out unhindered
• High precision manufactured aluminium comb - optimized for ideal tone-response, with design coating in metallic look
• in Solo- or Orchestra tuning - straight (upper plate C; lower plate C#)
The SAXONY CHROMATIC is a master’s instrument that fits professional demands. This harmonica opened a new dimension of SEYDEL's long tradition of making quality harmonicas. Timeless precision manufacturing, made in Klingenthal / SAXONY / Germany.

👍
An ever impending sense of doom...
Thanks for the review. The acrylic configuration (comb color is transparent green) comes with a half moon mouthpiece. The comb color in this video is gray and not transparent green. But the mouthpiece is a half moon configuration?
You get the option to have the half moon mouthpiece on the ALU Symphony if that´s what you desire. No extra charge. I have taken that option on both of mine. Hope that helps.
Bravo gospodine.Veoma dobro odsvirano.
Thank you for this video. Is the slide really that loud? We can hear it when you play. That would drive crazy!
👌👏👏
Are you playing a 12 hole or a 16 hole.
Awesome! 😎💙🎶🙌
Mükemmel görünüyor iyi günlerde kullanın
Super good! Thanks for playing for us/
Excellent comparison. Thank you!
Hell yeah. This just made me break out my harmonica. I haven’t played in too long. Is that a seydel 1847? Because that’s what I have and yours looks like it.
Thanks! you are right, it's an 1847, very good harp!
Vakkert, og herlig lyd :)
Et vakkert munnspill!
Ooooooo now that is satisfying.. I'd gladly be forced to build a railroad if my guy here was around 🤙
I'll be there with my harp ready in pocket
Which scale is it ? Sound b#
B# is correct, or as it is more commonly called C
Podoba mi się ten montaż, muzyka i przyroda 👍👏❤
What a cool grandfather... and the lovely nature...
Kom tilfeldigvis over denne videoen😊hyggelig å se at noen Norske også spiller munnspill! Takk for nyttig video.
Hey, I've been thinking of buying a chromatic and I wanted to make a good choice since they aren't really cheap compared to diatonics. Well, cheers, I love the sound of the thing, and lovely playing too!
Interesting
I'm looking to start playing the chromatic harmonica. Is this ET12 better than the T12-48NV2.0? I would like to know if the ET12 is easy to use for beginners.
The ET12 would be a better choice, but personally I would go for Dream 2.0 if Easttop is your brand.
@@woelneberg Is it from a performance perspective? Or is it from a cost performance perspective? What are the advantages of Dream2.0?
Dream 2.0 seems to be the same harmonica with valves so it's from a performance perspective. It will sound and perform better.
I have none of your challenges with any of the six Trochilus harmonicas.I have 5 diatonic, 2 pop tuned, and a C6. Just need to keep my mustache well trimmed.😮
Seems I have been unlucky with QC. Most people are pleased with theirs, but this one is bordering unplayable. I bet it has the potential of being a real moustache mower 😱
My draw an blow reeds are very consistent with the volume levels and my slider operates as good or better than any of my dozen plus diatonics. I was and am bedazzled by this harp!!!!
Intended to write in reference to my Chromatics!
That's great! This one is most likely a result of poor quality control. Bad luck. I am glad most people are pleased with theirs. it's a really cool design!
Very nice review.
Thanks!
I just received mine today and I'm not experiencing the same issue. Both blow and draw reeds sound even. Maybe you have a defective one?
Good to hear! I probably got one that slipped quality control 🚩
Great review, thanks ! Does it have valves? Or is it a valveless harmonica?
Thanks! It is valve less
Thank you!
I aughta get me one of these, to Blow a tune on a rainy day! Nice review
Very thorough, thank you!
Do you have one with key D? or LC?
Standard tuning?
Yeah C Solo
Nydelig!
Takk!
Where do you buy it ? I'd like to get one. What is it the cost. What is the store and country. Thanks
I bought it from Evenstad Musikk in Grimstad. Best prices in Norway!

I enjoyed your harmonica playing very much. 🤗🤗
Would you recommend retuning it to Paddy Richter?
It Richter tuned right? What do you think about retuning it to Paddy Richter for Irish music?
Hi! Paddy could be very interesting on this harmonica! I probably would not tune it myself, since it's so easy to order custom tunings from Seydel. Have you checked their harp-configutatior?
Pięknie👍👏❤
Definitely adding this to my editing playlist. Absolutely serene. Good harping lad. ^u^
Thank you! I am planning on making good quality recordings of all the Snufkin songs 🙏
Veldig fin og koselig video!
Tusen takk 😀
Very nice!
Thanks Matt!
Fin video
Tusen takk! Det var en fin skogstur 🌞
