Hi Kevin my daughter has a 2017 jaguar XF premium. The silicone, rubber or plastic gasket or oring (I’m guessing) has come apart. She can not shift into any gears leaving the car where it is. Is that part replaceable or do I need to buy the center console as 1 unit? Dealership states they need the vehicle all day including they went almost $1700. We can't afford that. I'm hoping I can replace the O-ring or silicone insert around the shifter knob myself. I'd like to hear your knowledge and opinion on that if you have time please thank you.
I used a few rubber bands to hold that black pin piece and wrapped around it and clamped it down to hold it back so that way it wouldn’t get in the way of the shifter. Save me lots of money.

Im just in the process of building my unit back up after replacing the plastic thread bracket piece that had snapped in the bottom of the unit (stopped it rising, but still allowed me to select gears all be it with a bit of force). I have now replaced this and built it back up but when connecting it back to the car it seems to be intermittent on wanting to rise? Not sure if i have positioned everything correctly? Can anyone be of any help? Many thanks, Ross

Same here bro this happened to me earlier and it was able to work after messing with the knob. I was told to be careful and not getting it wet in there. And then I had to clear the codes by disconnecting the battery. So far nothing yet. Do you have any recommendations or advice?
I followed this had same fault of a dry joint so the car wouldn’t come out of park. Very easy to do took longer stripping console out than the repair. Thankyou saved me a few hundred quid.
I this considered the “Transmission Control Unit”. Dealer says TCM module fault codes cause of the unable to apply parking brake. Also did you have to have the new one reprogrammed for the car? 2015 xf.

I had rain get in to my Jag XF 2015 and now the gear knob won't switch into gears. I get a "gearbox fault" message. I think looking at this video the computer/circuit board got fried, faulty resister or solenoid or both. I bought a whole Transmission selector that fit the 2015 XF.....Mechanic is still saying the knob will not turn and thinks he needs to reprogram....Any thoughts?

was wondering how you got to do the centre propeller for R/C? Looks really great, the music score from the movie "RAISE THE TITANIC" great choice for the video.as well as great detail in the ship itself, WOW!! A ABSOFLOGGINGLUTELY a wonderfully built model accurate in every detail, but am NOT 100% sure though that the original TITANIC had something coming off the back of the forward mast like you have on the model, but otherwise a totally accurate model
My God man that is one fine replica you definitely turned that ship of dreams into a dream come true ...awesome job. 😜👍 but got to ask building something as big as this have you ever thought of building one bigger that you & a mate could actually sit in tandem & pilot? I've thought of doing such a project myself but lack the space or a garage to build it in, so my ship of dreams may remain just that, I live on a lake so building something close to this. Would definitely be an attention grabber but even more if it could actually serve as an real boat on certain occasions, was very impressed how you duplicated the stern and may I ask what mat'l you used to fill in gaps of the planking you did on the hull? Its definitely a museum piece and you should stand proud of your hard work. But then again wouldn't you rather sit inside it at the helm of the controls? Very impressive job, my hats off to you sir Congratulations on a job well done.

What a ridiculously complex way of performing a simple task. Just use a cable or rod, it'll work reliably for 50 years.

Did you half to code it
No as it was original unit I only re soldered the one resistor. Cars still fine to this day.
Nice hopefully my repair is that simple would yk if a new pr used one would half to be reprogrammed?

Iv a mk1 XF 2011. Can I use a mk2 module? Also if I have a 3.0 diesel will the 2.2 module work?
