Can you use the gen 2 swivel thing on the gen 1?

12:21, as it's clearly visible here, using this machine leaves everytime the label border wet. In my experience, after many records washed, 99% I have no damage to the label once dried, but in the remaining 1% I am left with a streaked, stained, discolored edge.

WARNING! DO NOT USE INCLUDED MIXTURE! I urge you NOT to use the mixture that comes with the cleaner. The mixture leaves a thin layer of something on the record. The record looks nice and shiny after cleaning - however the layer ends up on your stylus like gunk and you'll have to clean your records all over again. Don't get me wrong - I use the cleaner all the time and it does a fine job, with a proper mixture.

How can I clean the goat brush?

YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL when using this machine. Although the clean can be ok, YOU do RISK ending up (like I and others have ) with DAMAGED LABELS on several records, using the first generation machine. Not sure if the latest non ultrasonic model remedies that. I hear it's an even worse product. On mine, a solid plastic edge on the casket which clamps the record at both ends rubs on the label in a circular motion as you screw it in. A recipe for disaster, especially if you are unicky to get the label wet, which is likely. I hope knosti do something to remedy this , and the sharp edges and corners on the underside of the white plastic caps at the top-end of each divider on the rack. These too could cause damage to both vinyl and labels. Due to such terrible shortcomings I am now looking for a different machne altogether. Knosti were of no assistance and even admitted to the product damaging labels but claimed that the damage visible in photos I sent them did not match the type of damage on photos of their own they had on archive. All to avoid liability.

I gave into temptation and bought one. Have to say I think its massively overpriced for what it is. I also can't get one of the brushes out of mine to clean, it's stuck solid. Plus, the supplied fluid leaves masses of residue on the record which means you must rinse them well , otherwise you get huge amounts of gunk appearing on your stylus. It's worth about £25 in my humble opinion.

Liquid should be one centimether shy of the top of the brushes. The liquid is no longer available with this product but you can use distilled water and a bit of Tergikleen, a residue-less surfactant record cleaner. Do not use alcohol.

not worth it ; i had one ; a complete pain to use and doesn't do the job; better to spend 4 or 500 quid on a proper machine

I found that there is a HUGE problem with this record cleaner. It is hard for me to believe that no one else has not had the same problem. With the one I bought I found that the brushes, that is the metal strips that hold the brushes together start to rust! ..... So, I will not ever be buying this product again! I mean, who would ever imagine cheap steel would ever rust in water!

I have an earlier version of one of these, but had to adapt it as it didn't have the turning handle. Been using it for years with just a weak solution of Fairy washing liquid, and i must say the results are outstanding, and to top it off it only cost me a couple of pounds from a car boot..........bargain. Highly recommended.

In order to avoid getting the label wet, the liquid should be about 1 cm below the top of the brushes. Don't worry, the capillary tension will get the top of the brushes wet enough to clean the whole surface without moistening the label.

This new Disco Antistat 2nd generation cleaner is rubbish, I have the 1st generation version and the usual problems with the labels getting wet. So I used an after sale label protector, that didn’t work either, this 2nd version also seaped water on the label and the handle is crap, I have now bought a label coverer called the groovemaster !

you could use isopropyl when that container runs out, right?

I have had a look around. And E-Bay are now doing this one as the "Next Generation" Version. Are the Brushes Removable, Because Yours looks like one of the Brushes does not go to the Top. Plus That Handle doesn't look very Strong. So going the Unfortunate Accident that It breaks off. I look for a Replacement one. No such thing excites and no Replacement Kit either. I can't see those clips staying tight for to long and constant tightening will eventually round them off. At £62 every time You break off that Handle of loosen those Clips Is a Bit Much.

I bought one ages ago Did Not know that It comes with the Clips and Handle. I always thought It was a DIY job by the ones demonstrating It. I feel cheated now.

What I've found is that this thing is great, yes. But the labelprotectors or recordclamp does not protect the label at all. Ruined my first pressing of MJs HIStory because of that. Easy fix for that can be found in any creative store. In german we call it "Moosgummi". Foamy like "paper". Cut out 2 rings after measuring the inner rings inside the labelprotectors (ironicly Knosti seemed to think of that - but they did not put any rubberrings whatsoever in the pack). Also don't re-use the fluid. Use it until it's empty and then continue with homemade solutions. Also try to get hold of another container. One for cleaning and the other one for rinsing with destilled water. Drying with a lindless cloth is also recommended. The airdry-method never worked for me and I live in perfect conditions for air-drying. The mixture it comes with sometimes leaves resedue on the records, almost looks like a snail had a nice walk across the record. It isn't audible but it's clearly to see.

This is not their debut album. The first one is The Weird and Wonderful, and it is harder and yet still really good. You should check it out. Before that first album came out they were a methcore screaming band with a few released songs.

Nice finds. As a Eurythmics fan myself, I can recommend the incarnation before “The Tourists” as well. However, if you can get the even rarer “The Catch” well done to you :)

I know this is a review of the vinyl version, but Disc 2 of the CD version is "Live: 1987-88". When listening you can clearly here David Coverdale mentioning Tokyo between virtually every single song. The live tour to support this album got to Tokyo in June 1988, so I don't know why it says "Live 1987-88". They were recorded over three nights in June 1988.

I have the same machine , although mine is branded as Vinyl styl, it does clean records good but anti-stat?... nope... no matter how clean you get them they still have pops and crackles from static dust , and the solution gets dirty real quick...

Some lovely 80's vinyl there, as for the leopard “pour some sugar on me” remember it like yesterday…..so many of my 80’s coming in to 90’s memory’s in that lot. Did Robert R do a book auction to support your best mate? If so I purchased that, it was myself who donated and got that proof book 😊

Great review, may I recommend something a little different a bit like your 1st vid. The Dead Weather, Hore Hound LP, part of Jack White's (as in White Stripes) 3rd man records....great listen. It’s on TH-cam but as you know 16-bit 44 khz digital v 24-bit 96khz vinyl (it you have the correct play back equipment) is another level, AND yes that’s an argument for another day :) I have not used the TEAC, does it have RCA's if so what do RCA’s do you use?
