Live performs from mid-90s tv show pebble mill. Petula used to open her live show with this moody blues classic.
Julie Covington - If I Fell
มุมมอง 119K17 ปีที่แล้ว
Julie Covington - one of the best female singers of the 20th century - sings a heartfelt version of the Beatles classic! Taken from a one-off programme from late 80s called "let's face the music of lennon and mccartney". Sadly she no longer performs. Which is a shame, she was also a brilliant actress too.

lulu - where the poor boys dance
มุมมอง 178K17 ปีที่แล้ว
Lulu gives a live performance at the london palladium of her 2000 hit single "where the poor boys dance"
It has always been my favourite song. This version while great, is a tad too slow
Lulu s Finest Hour , by a mile ! So nostalgic so haunting Play it again , Sam, Please Cheers !
Such a great performance! You really feel the lyrics ❤
She should given an Outstanding Contribution to Music Award by Brit Award she's a living 60s legend ❤
40 years ago - when the BBC still made fantastic shows.
Her phrasing is wonderful.
My Brother loves this song and so do I ❤ 💛💚👊🏽👊🏽
This great theme and titles would now be talked over and pushed into a little square on the screen.. how times change..
I don’t think there’s another singer who ever graced the stage who could bring character, authenticity and integrity to their dramatic roll. Her voice is sublime. I’m not really a West End musical fan but I know the Evita album, word for word, note for note.
I think I may be the only one who Cringes as they watch Finians Rainbow. Let me say- the cast, phenomenal, the music, insanely fantastic. I play the album every March. But the plot, the"humor" the lines, I hate this movie. But I love everything else about it! And I'm 71, so I've lived thru what they're trying to portray. I'm not a Karen, or nothing. I just cringe at the movie. Except for the phenomenal actors and their fantastic singing and dancing. I will forever hope to see anyone from the cast say what they felt about their movie. It wasn't funny!! Beautiful in every other way.
NO SPEAK OR I PUNISH!"
Cool opening. Ending not that great. Series has elements of greatness, but then some details that drags it down a bit.
I love this. Petula always been a favourite but Don is a revelation on this. Magic!
The scene leading up to this one is really emotional, always get a lump in my throat even now, and I think it was the only time Steed called her Emma, rather than Mrs Peel.💓
Excellent singer (feelings touch listeners’ hearts)
Joann Lumley could really run!. I don't think that camera was cranked to speed her up, she was moving!
The Japs interned my Grandfather at Changi, Ransacked our house and shot our neighbours entire family-
Beautiful. Still the ultimate Don't cry for me Argentina.
She has a good voice
Such purity - I have her LPs but such a shame she didn't do more
What a voice he had ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of my absolute favorites. That man's voice...wow.
She should have been a big star.
Absolute class
Wow. So sensual and sexy.
Merci du coeur qui bat tres bien pour nous les vivant! Petula ,merci
A change...not for the best.
I love the intimacy of this number - very sensual. I ran into Don Francks (while he was walking his dog) some years ago and told him how much I enjoyed this scene. A bit of serendipity!
Great soulful song Lulu.
Top Tune !
Love this song but ❤ them all when are you coming back to Edinburgh to anther concert xxxc
Thsnk you. This medley is a treasure. Petula is a treasure
When I got home from night school I would watch this on WTTW which was our PBS station
I have heard many artists sing this song...this rendition is by far, my favorite of them all!
WOMEN NO TALK 😂
Pure talent.
What I wouldn’t give to swap places with Ms Clark ❤ swoon
🔤🔡🔠⏭️ You hurt me so bad I was building a palace in my mind Just for you and me I made you the center of my world Though you couldn't see I thought we'd walk together The road would run forever I can follow no further Til I get commitment from you What ya gonna do? Oh baby What kind of answer is maybe? Oh, oh-oh-oh You hurt me so bad Oh baby Thought you were the last train to safety Oh, oh-oh-oh You hurt me so bad In this world of indifference I expected so much more from you But the more that I listen The less I believe is true I've got understanding Now my heart's commanding I can follow no further Til I get an answer from you What ya gonna do? Oh baby...
Excellent performance by Petula Clark! The very pretty and extremely talented singer, actress, dancer, entertainer, pianist, and songwriter Petula Clark was a child and teenage star in England! Then her song Downtown hit number 1 here in the United States! She received the Grammy Award and her career soared with more hit songs, guest spots on many television shows, radio, her own television show, more big screen movies and many stage productions of Classic Musicals! I was born in 1978 here in the United States. I have always been and always will be a fan of Petula Clark! It should be Dame Petula Clark! Thank you for posting and sharing this classic performance!
This is what they call,....FILM MAGIC ! Great song , two wonderful artists singing their best. Talk about chemistry and romance and on top of this,...EYE CANDY ! Truly memorable!
I love this duet , it's.magical, mesmerizing. Wonderful, memorable and unforgettable. Lovely!
Genuine Crystal clear natural voice and singer . I'm sure her beautiful voice matches her personality. This brings a soulful joy to life with all its ups downs. Thank you Julie
I love how they turned ballet into a fighting style!
😮😮😍
Why has this gone from all the streaming platforms!!! It’s so good ❤
I just realised it's missing from my Spotify playlist so I had to come here to listen!
Too much to say on how this movie is just the best in every way ❤
One big difference between the Emma Peel Avengers and the New Avengers was Bruce Lee who introduced kick boxing to the western world in a major way. The original Avengers was also known for it's awful fight choreography. The New Avengers seemed to have better-choreographed fight scenes. Diana Rigg was also a good dancer although I don't think she did any ballet but was known for being able to kick very high, but kicking in fights I beleive was considered unportsman like so not used in the 60's British TV.
Great Interpretation…. 👏 Bravo’ Glenda
My gord and my Goodness! Was that actually the rarely mentioned Mister Peel in the car with Emma? She was Missus Peel after all so there had to be a Mr Peel somewhere. I guess this was one of the rare moments when we sort of saw him....; though I'm pretty sure we did not see his face.
Old devil make u believe in me ..
