The Pantanal Wetlands - The Jewel of Brazil - 4K Calming Relaxation Music
G'day,
Please enjoy this highlight real of our trip to the Pantanal Wetlands.
This is a must destination for all nature and wildlife lovers. We saw 39 Jaguars in our 5 full days on the river.
We stayed at and can recommend the following as best value lodge in the Pantanal.
Pousado Berco Panteneiro www.pousadabercopantaneiro.com.br/
Our Jaguar Tour was a private tour for two including transfers from Cuiaba to the Pantanal. Accommodation, 3 meals per day, soft drinks/sodas, water and juices and 11 full hours on the river per day with our own boat and skipper.

G'day, In today's video I chat about the best/easiest places to see wild cheetah's in South Africa. These places are both convenient and offer decent value. I have been to both so have personal experience. I could add others, but prices rise steeply so not as accessible to most people. P.s Just a few days ago I saw a social media post from Tshukuda Game Reserve of the Cheetah brothers there. On...

G'day, In this video we present some of the common birds you will find in the Pantanal. It's a mixture of video and still images as sometimes one is easier than the other, especially when most of the footage is taken from a boat which is moving and swaying a lot of the time. I would suggest that a birder with binoculars over the same 7 days we were there(including a day transfer there and back)...

G'day, Please enjoy our 4th day on the river in The Pantanal. Funny to say we 'only' saw 3 Jaguars this day : ). Plenty of bird action, a 3 meter Yellow Anaconda which was resting under our boat at the jetty before launch and more great antics from the Giant River Otters. There is typo that I missed. It is a Marbled Swamp Eel not Ell. Cheers Brian

    Oh how wonderful this video was. My Aussie family of 5 had the incredible privilege to be guests at Abelana for 4 days and three nights three weeks ago. We started our three week holiday here and visited two other safari lodges, but our experience by the river at Abelana is like a very special friend that brings a unique fondness above others. Completely agree with your review about the staff, that are very sensitive to needs. I have an austistic son who stayed in the hut next to ours, which you would think would be a terrifying thing for a mother…considering we had to walkie-talkie with staff to accompany us to their hut at night due to the abundance of wildlife…but the way my sons were cared for and had access to staff made me sleep in deep peace. My kids had a blast with daily morning greeting from hippos and crocodiles in the river, ans well as monkeys annd impala outside the hut… And how about that setting? Could you imagine anything more tranquil? And then add to that the twice daily safaris in that spectacular country side…it’s like a drug. The difference between Abelana and our subsequent visit to Kruger was how intimate our connection with sightings were, and our amazing ecologically sensitive and highly intelligent guide, Abi, who is a cut above the rest. She had invisible antennae and a touch with entering the spaces where the animals were, without disturbance, to the point where we could hear the bones of a wilderness being crunched by loins and see the flies….metres away, despite the fact that we entered by demolishing bush land in a four wheel drive. We also had a very intimate and wordless visit with Rhino in foot in the forest like setting with the wildflowers. It was an obscured view, but compared to more open sightings we had later, the opportunity to do this in Thai way is something I will treasure in my heart and brings tears to my eyes remembering. It not just animals or setting that make it awesome, but the calibre of staff, the knowledge we received, and their knowledge of the rhythm of their environment, that made Abelana feel like a safari honey moon. Gosh I miss it, especially the sound of the air in the evening and mornings…and the food…yes, sublime. Thanks for the video, it’s amazing to see my minds eye through your lens.

      Thanks for watching and for your review of Abelana. If you ever go back, contact them directly as they rewarded us with a returning guest discount. We were also lucky to have a private tour of the reserve before the lodge was formally opened. We will be back in March, but staying at the River Camp this time. I will be posting a video on the River Camp and game drives at some stage 😎

    Great video Brian! I had no idea these two reserves existed so thanks for posting. Of course we have always (hope I’m not jinxing our next trip) managed to find them in Kruger at least 1-2 times in a two week stay but then not all the sightings have been great though most have.

    Amazing! I love the gear overview and your Honest opinions on equipment withought trying to hawk the newest $$$ lenses and mirrorless systems, as a hobby photographer I was wondering what range you’re mostly shooting at on safari and why you choose the larger prime lenses over the more flexible zooms in the same price range? I’m guessing weight savings but I’d love to hear your opinions!

    • @TheWildlifeFanatic
      @TheWildlifeFanatic 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Firstly, thanks for watching 😎. In Australia, Nikon's 180-600 zoom is around AUD$2,400 where my 600mm prime is AUD$7,000 so the prime is a lot more expensive. I've chosen a prime as my main lens for faster autofocus, better sharpness and bokeh and yes in this case, a lot lighter and more compact than the zoom. However, the zoom is also very sharp in it's own right and in good light, I doubt anyone could tell any difference in sharpness between it and my prime. The range I am normally shooting at depends on the game reserve. In the private reserves in South Africa, you can get within meters of leopards and lions for instance because you are allowed to go offroad. Somewhere like the Serengeti, game can be hundreds of meters from the designated driving roads/tracks. My partner was shooting with her Sigma 100-400 for a number of years and coming away with plenty of great images in Africa and India. She now exclusively shoots video with the Canon XA70 in the video that has a zoom range of 25-385mm with the optical zoom. A lot more again in digital zoom.

    Hi, great videos and impressive photography, probably in very challenging environments! We are heading back to Borneo in Sept. and you mentioned having a night vision/infra red video camera was a must have. What model did you have and would you recommend it?

    • @TheWildlifeFanatic
      @TheWildlifeFanatic 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Night vision/infrared was used for night tours in Deramakot Forest Reserve. Definitely would not have got a lot of the night video without out the video camera especially animals at a distant. Canon XA70. You will can see a lot of the footage in our Deramakot(Borneo) Videos. Very easy to handle as well as my partner changed from doing the video with a DSLR and long lens to the Canon Video Camera with internal zoom. Close up with a good spotlight you can simply change to normal colour videography. Thanks for watching.

    At 55,000 hectares Deramakot may be too small to sustain clouded leopards long term. They are estimated to need at least 75,000 hectares to support them.
