Is Thursday's Premier All-White Sneaker Worth It?
I have the Reid sneakers, and also have shoe trees in them, however, I’m wondering it’s necessary with their short toe box.
How do you like the Reid sneakers? Do you have any others by chance? I as well have shoe trees in them. I use them to help with the creases over time. Obviously leather stretches so while the soles conform to your feet, the leather becomes more comfortable and less stiff, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing!
I’m enjoying my Reid sneakers, love the pebbles leather. You’re right about the stiff lacesc needs a little break in time, but after a couple uses all good. I also have the Garcia’s in pull up brown leather. I feel like these have a bit more cushion in the food bed, also feel there’s a bit more room in the toe box. I give the edge to the Garcia’s. Overall, love Beckett Simonon, excellent craftsmanship, leather, and even better customer service. I’m really enjoying my loafers, and boots.
@@foodandbourbon7737I’ll have to check those out. The sizing for the loafers are tricky for me. I have a 9 in the Reid, and a 9 in the loafers. The loafers still seems a bit big though. Any issues on your end with that?
For me no issues at all. I ordered 10.5 in their oxfords, loafers, boots, and sneakers. They all fit great. They all fit wonderfully, but I will see I absolutely love their loafers and the fit, and comfort. Maybe try using the inserts they provide or go down .5 size. Hope that helps. What other BS footwear do you have? What’s your overall experience?
@@foodandbourbon7737 I appreciate that. I currently have their Reid sneakers, Bernard tassle loafers, and their Dowler boots. I like all of them and they are all the same size but for some reason the loafers a smidge big. I'll use their inserts ad see how that goes. Appreciate you brother!

The premier white comes in wide and extra wide.

I’ve been wearing Beckett Simonon for a while. I own an older pair of Reids and 2 new pairs (1 high top, 1 low top). I feel that the first is higher quality. The new sole although it does add grip seems cheaper. Also, the shoe box is definitely way more flimsy. I worked in retail for many years and I understand that the change in the cost of materials leaves the brand to make a decision to either raise the price of the product or choose other materials and keep the price the same. It seems like they chose the latter. Gonna see how the new pairs wear over time. These same changes aren’t dealbreakers in my opinion but just observations, and/or comparison of the original and the new product.

Thanks for the compliment! The higher pants has always been something I’ve been fond of. The belt situation is an optional one. Sometimes a belt can separate the outfit. I elected to keep it all one piece instead of chopping it up. I’m a shorter guy, so the no belt and higher pants helps give the illusion that I’m taller.

I'm a big Thursday fan who's made many purchases from them (boots and sneakers). The pros with the sneakers is that they're sleek and stylish so they go with just about any outfit. The quality is great for the price. Other brands may have better quality, but it's ridiculous to spend hundreds of dollars for a sneaker! Cons include the narrowness of the sneakers, creasing of certain pairs and a some minor QC issues, like inconsistent glue and loose stitching (this is hardly noticeable) That said, unless you have a wide foot, Thursday sneakers are a great value for the price point.
You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I couldn’t agree more. Although, Beckett Simonon is t a bad choice either if you don’t mind waiting for your pair. Thanks for the feedback on your experience!
I have several pair of their sneakers and like them a lot however, they run narrow in the toe and i have a reg width foot and do not have issues with other shoe brands,,,,i wish they made the toe box a tad wider or offered wide widths ,,, they did not when i bought them....i use a shoe tree which helps some but it is not as good as having a proper width

Hey man really convincing video with accurate facts. Great work. I wear size 10.5 in skechers and 11 in Nike. Thursday size recommendation suggests me to order size 11. what do you recommend? Should I still go for wider option (EE) considering I cannot wear shoes that are too narrow from the front. would really appreciate if you respond.
Thank you for the kind words! Thats tough because Nike runs narrow in my opinion. Because I work so closely to podiatrists (foot doctors) I know a wider shoe is always the best bet. I don’t think you’ll have any issues if you go that route. If anything, you could always buy the regular and narrow and return the ones you don’t like. 👍🏼 Thanks again!
Once broken in, they are the most comfortable sneaker I've worn. Have tried many others, w/Thursday being fairly close but not as comfortable and they simply don't look as nice. The new sole looks pretty bad, as the shoe loses that clean look.

How much time does the sole takes to become comfortable?
I think it depends on each person. Some people put them on right away and think they are comfortable. Me personally , the shoes were narrow for me and I should have ordered a wider option. I normally don’t need to do that but I think the toe box of their shoes are smaller than most brands. I’ve had them for a year now and I can honestly say that they are amazing shoes. The toe box has stretch a bit and they are more comfortable after using shoe trees. 👍🏼

I have the brown ones with leather shoelaces, I love them! They remind me of fancy bowling shoes. Mine still look like new although I've had them several years now and WORN them. I have my eyes on a pair of their Chelsea Boots! now! 😂

Back in the college years, the dressiest I wore was Bass Weejuns loafers. It was aesthetics and “the look” over comfort at 20. Most frat guys didn’t own socks, so comfort was a passing thought. But, after a 100,000 miles of walking over the years, a man’s feet beg for comfort first and foremost! The fact that these shoes combine good looks with obvious comfort is a win-win.
The leather soles of the Bass loafers was anything but durable and needed re-soling after six months of urban campus wear. Slick as glass soles for a good month as well.
@@gmcrealman2890 thanks for the feedback/self experience! I try to explain that comfort is the goal here and sometimes the classic dress shoes aren’t comfortable to some. Especially being on your feet for majority of the day! These shoes offer comfort and what I believe to be aesthetic as well. The insert is heat activated which means they will conform to your foot after a few wears. I find this to be true with my loafers I have from them. They are very comfortable! Texas burnt orange T-shirt is a great choice. Casual suede slip-ons perfect with no socks.

Sorry. I have never seen such ugly and cheap looking shoes. The workmanship also looks pretty bad. Well-made shoes with leather soles are also comfortable. You just can't buy cheap. 200$ for shoes that look so cheap and then also have a glued rubber sole?
I appreciate your opinion. I think some people don't find leather soles as comfortable as others. It depends on the wearer, obviously. I also think you have to consider the materials at use. The rubber is a high quality materials and so is the leather. In terms of comfort, old school shoes utilize a stacked leather heel with rubber. Also with a small leather insert. Some find those too harsh on the heel after wearing the shoes for an extended period of time. Ugly and cheap is an opinion, but the leather itself is just as good, if not better than Cole Haan. I do however agree with you on the glued rubber soles. I wish they stitched just like other brands such as Thursday Sneakers. In the end, I think this comes down to the person wearing the shoe. If they value comfort but don't like the old school feel, trying these would be a great alternative. What do you wear, out of curiosity? Maybe you could help someone out who watches this. Thanks for sharing!

The shoes are holding up great! I use shoe trees to help keep the shoes pristine. Grab some Stratton’s from Amazon. Works great and not that expensive. 👌🏼 a.co/d/h249auc

I'm a huge Thursday fan who's purchased 3 of their sneakers and 5 of their boots. The drawback with the Sneakers is that some of them can have a lot of creasing while others do not. That said the sneakers are still a good value for the money compared to the competition. The prices on some of the competition is ridiculous for a sneaker.

@lantzkulp yes over the years, Thursday has updated the last of their boots (haven't seen last changes in their sneakers) so when I purchased my most recent Captains in Nov 2023, I had to go down a half size.

@@lantzkulp I had for 1 year . i dont wear them much only during the spring and summer months . I own two pairs and it happened to both pairs . I contacted Thrusday Boot . They put me thru hoops and basically said wear and tear.
What size should I get if I wear a size 10 US in Nike Air max?
In my opinion, I think Nike runs smaller/narrow. I’d say you have two options; 1. You go with the 10 because the leather will stretch and conform to your foot 2. You go a half size up and if it’s slightly too big, they give you inserts or you can wear thicker socks.
