I'm a lifelong angler with a passion for the sport, a love of the countryside and all things in it. I'm an England international fly fisherman and dedicated fly tyer, journalist, broadcaster and writer. I'm also lucky enough to present my own TV show on BT Sport, which is called 'On The Bank'.
This is a channel mainly dedicated to the noble art of fishing, and everything that goes with it. It will host films about fly tying, coarse fishing, lure, and sea. There might even be a bit of cooking too....

I felt sick watching you holding up and weighing the fish for over 2 minutes and it was still alive.A fish out of the water can’t breathe.Can you hold your breath under water for 2 minutes.If you returned the fish it may have swam away but the damage was done and it would probably died soon after.If you chapped the fish why keep it in agony unable to breathe for over 2 minutes.Mr Ford and Mr Cock whatever with there so called years of experience should have known better.As a fisherman myself this gives the sport a very bad name and both of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

@@fanaticfisherman-5473 I can absolutely guarantee nobody has ever been knowingly given extra time. I’m sorry if you left feeling aggrieved one year. It’s likely all digital this year for registering bass, so the pics just have to be with us by 1pm. Easy cut-off and easy to prove one way or another 😊
I guess I was hearing things when someone came in and said we are extending the time as people stuck in traffic lol I wouldn't have won anyway lol So I don't need to make it up

Being a new to tie flying although I’m in my late 60’s Thanks so much for this simple olive pattern I tied it last year after seeing this video and caught fish every time 👍I’m currently trying 18 & 20’s ready for the start of this season in April

Great potential there! I remember about 17 yrs or so hearing about a small blue fin tuna game fishing operation off the west coast of Ireland, targeting French patrons who might helicopter in to fish for them. I saw a small boat with a fighting seat in it which I was told was used for this purpose.The numbers are obviously up now!
This was in my calendar but work got in the way. Hopefully next year. 🥲🎣🐟

Thanks John. I fish barbless almost exclusively and single barbless on lures wherever practical. We’re all big kids. Fishing is just an excuse to keep us in touch with that isn’t it? Glad you liked the show.

I tend to on these yes. Gives more control over depth when tight line nymph fishing.

Thats amazing ive seen photos of big Tuna from decades ago and for them to be back is awesome, i think they've come back because they've had time to recover i just hope our coast guards and the Southern IFCA do a good job of keeping the Asian poachers away there in every ocean with them massive nets and they Rape and devastate the population of marine life. And i hope that doesn't happen here them Tuna are worth a lot of money you can get 15.000-25.000 grand per fish and even up to a cool 1 million where's there's money to be made come greed..Awesome video
