    Hi Andy,
How to save a day, eh! You've probably answered this question a thousand times but what net are you using? It may have been in the kit list at the end but a box advertising one of Mr Jardine's casting lessons was in the way!

I think it might be over a thousand now. :) It's a Daiwa Iso landing net handle with a Drennan Acolyte net head. This is the handle: www.pecheur.com/en/gb/buy-landing-net-handle-daiwa-iso-140569.html

@@FordyGoesFishing Cheers. Nifty operating system on the handle. Description of handle on Pecheur website takes a bit of interpretation!

They're French, so you have to make an allowance. You'll need an extra strong net magnet like this one www.fishingtackleandbait.co.uk/en/gb/Scierra-Magnetic-Clip/m-46481.aspx?PartnerID=279&UnitedKingdom&gclid=CjwKCAiAyPyQBhB6EiwAFUuakuI1fhNk7kUSOk__bekeuiUlcv7bynGGxEEqgLMW64Oy3ZHpwCDVvxoCiJwQAvD_BwE and Kevlar lanyard. There are loads on eBay. A couple of decent carbabiner clips (s-biners are solid) and you are away. :)

Hi Stephen. Thankyou for the comments. It's not 'push button' as such. It's a Daiwa Iso 2.55m telescopic net handle. It secures into the top with a rubber bung that you can easily pop out with your thumb. www.pecheur.com/en/gb/buy-landing-net-handle-daiwa-iso-140569.html

tempted to use a sink tip? I see some of the Americans such as Kelly Galoup use sinking lines for this.

Yep definitely. In deeper pools a sink tip works well. Also used a di3. Helps counteract strong flow by getting the fly down. The water on top is always faster than below.

@@FordyGoesFishing Yes, my local fishing tackle shop sells streamers that are really really heavy. It seems as if people here only use streamers after a flood anyway
