Disney’s Best Store Ever Built - Chester and Hesters Dinosaur Treasures Walkthrough
Dinoland USA at Disneys Animal Kingdom may be my personal favorite land of all time, with one of the biggest highlights being Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. At the peak interest of dinosaurs in the 90s due to Jurassic Park and Universal building a land based on the films at the same time, it was only fitting for Disney to build their own Dinosaur land to compete. But how could this be done without being a direct ripoff of the highest grossing film at the time? Their answer was Dinoland USA, and instead of being sent to a tropical world where dinosaurs roamed the Earth, you would be sent to where dinosaurs exist now - the desert. Diggs County in fact, a Southwest inspired land where fossils are just about the only thing around. After the first fossils were found, the county became a hot spot for paleontologists to discover new history, eventually leading to a Dino Institute that would take over the local businesses. Capitalizing off this craze were an old couple, Chester and Hester, who owned the local gas station. This was transformed into a gift shop named Dinosaur Treasures, perhaps the most detailed tribute to these extinct animals ever. Filled to the brim with detail is an understatement with this store, as this 5 minute video contains just a fraction of the gags, references, and fun to be found in every pocket. I can only imagine the fun the Imagineers must have had designing this store, finding every dinosaur knick knack they could find, and fitting it into this store in creative and genius ways. This level of prop inclusion will never be seen again on this scale, and it’s a shame the store has gone extinct like the creatures of its namesake.

Vekoma Rides Full Roller Coaster History: 1979-2024 and Beyond
มุมมอง 4.6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
No manufacturer has built more roller coasters in history than Vekoma rides, averaging nearly 10 a year over just under half a century. Beginning with a series of large looping coasters for the time, these custom layouts and boomerangs were notorious for headbanging and rough rides for their first decade. Later, they would venture into small indoor and junior coasters, before making a big splas...
Vekoma Rides Full Roller Coaster History Part 5 - Perfection (2020-Beyond)
มุมมอง 3K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
From this point forward, Vekoma has absolutely perfected their track design with precise profiling and forces, allowing them to go back and redo many concepts from the past. They always had the right ideas, but now with the smoothest running rides in the industry, they are able to flourish with creative designs and unique maneuvers. This is the final part of a five part series chronicling every...

While still not being taken fully seriously as a manufacturer, Vekoma entered the 2010s not with more gimmicks, but full proof of concept rides after decades of trial and error. By the end of the decade, they may be making the highest quality product in the industry, with immaculate tracking, safe and comfortable trains, and exciting and innovative layouts. This is part four of a five part seri...
Scorpion Busch Gardens Tampa 🦂 Closing Day Off Ride Footage
มุมมอง 5874 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Scorpion has had its final sting at Busch Gardens Tampa after over 44 years of operation. This classic Schwarzkopf was the first coaster in Florida with a vertical loop and was the second oldest coaster in the state behind Space Mountain until its closure on September 8, 2024. This was a rare Schwarzkopf Silver Arrow, an evolution of their original portable looping star that added a double ...
Vekoma Rides Full Roller Coaster History Part 3 - Dart Throws (2000-2010)
มุมมอง 4.3K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
As the records were peaking in the height of the roller coaster wars, Vekoma would not participate, rather electing to figure out what they were good at with a variety of gimmicky rides. These would come in all shapes and sizes, with small motorbike and custom junior coasters, to larger versions of existing models, and even wooden coasters. This is part three of a five part series that will cov...
Vekoma Rides Full Roller Coaster History Part 2 - Mass Production (1990-1999)
มุมมอง 3.6K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
After exploding onto the scene with the immensely popular boomerang, Vekoma would continue to build not just sit down inverting coasters, but an abundance on junior and family coasters as well. On top of these, they’d make the ambitious move to challenge one of the growing European manufacturers, with another major model with installations around the globe. In the history of roller coasters, no more have been built by Vekoma, with over 400 installations around every corner of the world. Starting out as a European assistant to Arrow Dynamics, they would eventually take their innovations and use them to create a vast collection of ride models. Beginning with basic loop and corkscrew coasters, the manufacturer would eventually put a European twist on...

Goodbye the king 😔, gone but never forgotten
You forgot Phantasialands Chiapas in 2014 :0
I want to mention and correct a small mistake concerning the matterhorn. It should be noted matterhorn is not said to be the first steel coaster or modern steel coaster, but rather the first modern tubular steel coaster. Steel coasters go all the way back to the early 1900s in the US and Europe. Although There was a traveling steel coaster in France that was tubular that operated before matterhorn. The misconception persists about matterhorn more due to the french coasters obscurity rather than any so called “American historical revisionism”
19:51 The audio of Vogel Rok was specially composed by mr. Ruud Bos, however the technical part is inspired by Space Mountain DTALL.
cant wait for B & M
Excellent video !!!!!
awesome video!! a series on schwarzkopf/gerstlauer similar to this would be super awesome
ACE just premiered their Schwarzkopf documentary which will hopefully release soon, I know they did a better job than I ever could! Can’t wait for that
@ oh thats awesome!! will check that out
Have you got a playlist for the background songs used?
I do not unfortunately they were copyright free songs from CapCut
Also: Paramount Parks *did* develop an indoor Spongbob Driving School wild mouse around 2003/4 for the US parks but it never happened.
First Intamin, Now Vekoma. Whats next? B&M? RMC? Or maybe Mack!
Shame this was never recommended to me. Amazing series! Can't wait to watch all these. Happy to hear Xcelerator get it's flowers. I grew up on that coaster and it is pretty awesome even if it's not as big as the others.
Great video but you forgot in 2014 falcons fury in busch gardens tampa FL
Intamin has been such an innovative company in the amusement industry. Crazy to think how far they have pushed the envelope sometimes, with legendary rides such as Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster + Kingda Ka, El Toro + T Express, Maverick, Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure, and now they will truly outdo themselves with Falcon's Flight.
The Intamin "blacklist" is crazy in my opinion. The paros got EXACTLY what they wanted. With I305, they wanted a Maverick/Millenium ride. They got it, and want to cry that the ride is "too intense". GTFO Nancy.
american parks to this day are dumb not to have asked intmain to do atlantis adventure clones at like CP and knotts that water coaster model looks super underrated
Is top thrill 2 the world's tallest operating coaster? I get its having work done but the status is operational. So technically tt2 is the world's tallest coaster until falcons flop opens.
Nope since it’s not even operating. The tallest and fastest in the world currently is Red Force
What if cedar fair did this to keep cedar point as their flagship park
@Mythical_Arena they have already proven that cedar point is the flagship for the chain. It seems like cedar fair parks on general are getting preferential treatment. I bet the parks cedar fair closes will mostly be six flags parks. Its sad that we will probably loose at least 5 parks in the next 10 years.
Woo s/o sfga!
but not anymore
💔
This ride represents my zodiac im a Scorpio
This gives cowardly the courage dog vibes
Think you can do a full recording of the queue video in the hulk coaster?
The current one? I won’t be able to since you can’t bring phones in the queue, but I know there’s some good videos of it before the metal detectors
You do?
th-cam.com/video/dWeZP_jCdqQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JvHbscGhQHj1ME4r
Maybe someday someone will upload the full version.
2017 blew my mind.
Definitely the most insane year for any manufacturer ever
Love it! So good when your favs show up! Great that you give mentions to some of the smaller parks which I didn’t realise were so integral to Vekomas history. My local Drayton Manor being one of the first to have a family boomerang and now it seems like they are everywhere!! Thanks for this mammoth of a video 😊
A history video on Vekoma longer than most movies
Great to see it all put together. Just watched it all over again. Thank you for such a great series!
love this history series :D
Nice job do Mack next
Do B&m next
Do Mack next
your Intamin series were high quality but the vekoma series are your masterpiece
Thank you for a great series. Can't wait to see what you do next. Maybe B&M or Arrow.
Never knew the boomerang was made for so long
Top quality on TH-cam
OK, hear me out… do Jinma Rides next
I was actually considering it, I would like to ride some of their rides before making a video to have a bit of familiarity
Great series! Thanks!
Another great video! After these I feel like my enthusiast level increases with so much more knowledge. Bravo!
13:55 the reason they use LIMs, from what i’ve heard, is that the trains they use didn’t have enough space to accommodate the LSM stuff, so LIMs were chosen instead
Absolutely fantastic series!
You forgot the upcoming coaster at Gronalund, possibly another boomaring in that same area too
That and another coaster I remembered last minute as I was uploading. I’m posting the full series in a week and I’ll include them at the end
I can't even imagine how long it took you to make this. So well done! Thank you for your efforts, I learned a ton from this video - most notably that I want to visit china because they have a TON of Vekoma's that are super underrated and under-ridden by US enthusiasts!
Already excited for the next series
IF vekoma does a good job by cedar point and sixflags .... they are back in america. This giant company can make the biggest inpact in there market if they trust vekoma and vekoma dilevers.
Verry good producion
Hope sirens curse is decent
What manufacturer are you doing next year?
Rita wasn’t an SW
It's interesting when they started connecting the spine on the inside of the rails, compared to the outside. Looks like the first use of this was on their wild mouse, and they also used it on their inverts. I wonder why they resisted using this design on the larger coasters for so long, the new track is much smoother and seems like it would need less steel, and this is the style track they used in all the redemption era designs. Trimper's mentioned though, that boomerang might have been my first coaster and possibly the one I've ridden the most, and it was the closest coaster to my house lol
I think they just got the design from Arrow and ran with it until they developed their own style much later down the line. The fact that the boomerang and SLC sold so well contributed it to it as well I’m sure. They also started at the infancy of large steel coasters where besides Schwarzkopf most manufacturers used the inside running rails
At this point... is there even a single park left in the world that doesn't have a Vekoma bommerang?
Also it's funny as fuck hearing you talk about Vekoma was using outdated designs only for their next coaster to be a wooden coaster.
My first two coasters were vekoma, they were barnstormer and seven dwarfs at magic kingdom.
