Is the intake from an RS the same as the ST?
@@aleksistar631 they’re not the exact same. The RS intake box is just more open than the ST. Only good for turbo noises in my opinion
ST could have easily spanked the GTI, without question. Driver just didn't want to.
Indeed, see how the ST remained at a safe distance when the GTI was braking hard
I've had both standard cars , if came down to build quality it's the Golf .... however my ST is not so boring.
So real
Beautiful car
Thanks! 😊
Old is Gold
😭😭😭
Beggars cant be choosers.🤔
Newer models scare me tbh
GTi much more sophisticated ride and plenty fast enough, must a performance package model. ST rough unsophisticated
I'd love to meet him, I am a total ST fan/owner.
I wonder what he tops out at???
"FORD" "LIKE A ROCK" !!!
Nice drive
That stock tune on the focus is what can hurt it on the top end...they wake up with a good tune. Those Brembos are a great upgrade too. Stock ST calipers suck balls. I race my 2016 Focus ST but its far from stock... FBO E30 you can get about 300whp, 400+wtq. They track monsters if you're a good driver.
The best Focus ST video in all youtube
Song?

👌
Sorry whats the car name it looks cool❤
i think its a datsun 240Z
It's a 280z, thanks! 🙏🏽
Sheesh bro
🤓☝️
Both quite well driven and both very evenly matched. I have a Mk 3 Focus ST and it is such a good every day car
you take your foot off the gas quite often when cornering you should press even half this all costs seconds
Bad.....
Bist du aus Kaiserslautern?
@steve Sound symposer ? Wie hast du gemacht ?
Ford performance exhaust. No sound symposer
ST has better suspension, brakes, maybe tires and driver. GTI has litle bit more power, DSG maybe. ST win for me, looks more stable and faster in corners. Nice try GTI :-D
GTI has less power in fact but the engineering is superior hence the Focus couldn’t keep up. I love both cars but there was a clear winner for everyone to see.
@@chrisjones4863 the GTI was definitely tuned, while the ST was stock. the ST cornered much smoother and faster than the GTI in every turn, but of course the GTI will pull ahead with the extra horsepower. In a straight line, the ST walks past a stock GTI, and clearly corners better. not quite sure how the GTI won
Welche Bremsscheiben und belege sind verbaut und wurde etwas zur Kühlung der Bremse noch umgebaut?
Brembo Brake upgrade with carbotech XP10 pads, DBA brake discs and no brake cooling
As a fellow ST owner I love this, but as the stickers say ………….. NeverBeen 😭
Great driving
Where ar eyou from man ? where did you get the Carbotech pad? Bought them in the US once and best pad i ever used
Has this car had a rebuild? ie forged internals? i thought the 2.0 4 potter couldnt take this punishment, as in the head would crack.
SP3 has pushed the stock motor to over 700 hp before failure. They handle 450hp pretty easily before they should have internal work done.
The motor wasn't opened up. The only bolt on I had was a Ford performance exhaust and RS intake box. The car was running a factory tuneand I had an access port just to monitor the vitals
If the GTI is stage 1 it probably has 300 BHP. Its impressive that the st could keep up.
Stock ST has better suspension than stock Golf. (Not talking about comfort)
man you shoulda took all the money from the engine modifications and got a larger turbo, anyways nice driving
A new turbo would require those mods...
@@bigsluggy ^fake news
@@Bladesje cowboy.
Cooling is already pretty bad with this platform, yes a bigger turbo will make it faster, but for how long will it last on this track?
I thought about it but at the time I focused on cooling for *some* more endurance since these cars tend to run fairly hot
Nice driving! Any mods?
Hey! Yes I had a brake upgrade including the Brembo calipers, carbotech XP10 pads and DBA rotors. Only other modifications were a Steeda Intercooler, koyorad radiator and cutback exhaust. Factory tune
That was awesome!!
Id love to be able to get my st on the Nurburgring.
Right! Absolutely!!!!
Factory suspension seems like it handles well!
It was definitely screaming the whole time since I had some pretty sticky tires on it. Really not bad though for what it is. The car definitely has the ability to carry more speed in some sections. Sadly I just never got the chance to improve more since I shipped it back to the U.S.
@@steve5467ST’s are awesome, but I might be biased since I own one. Haha
Do you know the course? Forza/GT trained? Haha
I may have 1 or 2 laps under my belt haha
what was your oil temp?
I think it spiked up to 240-250 degrees this lap according to the accessport
@@steve5467 my st touch the 284's before the first carrousel. i cant do a clean lap without limpmode. i think i have to change the radiator.
I never went into limp mode but the car would definitely run a little warmer on hotter days. I'm running a Koyorad radiator now and it does a really good job of keeping temperatures down.
@@steve5467 get a mishimoto oil cooling system and you’re set. They also have high performance fans. With those mods you can run that baby past Porsches
Mk7 gti all the way bro sorry love the st but the mk7 gti is no joke
Agreed! I was initially trying to decide between the two and since I was buying brand new, the ST was significantly cheaper than the GTI at the time. Nevertheless, both are great platforms!
@@steve5467 Yes, but Fords handle better than the VAGs, so you made the correct desicion. Your cornering speed was higher than the GTI's.
GTI's want no parts of me on a back road and I have stock suspension with Summer Tires... Would love to have seen this done with a Stage 1 or Stage 2 Tune uploaded
For being as stock as it is, I'm really impressed.
❤️
