Using the Intex Excursion Pro on a mildly windy day on the lake. Definitely recommend this kayak! Sorry for all the bugs the black flies were horrible when this was filmed.

man, can u pop the kayak with the hook, and is it made of harder material than other pull and beach toys
the material is much thicker than a pool toy. Any inflatable can puncture that's why they designed it to have multiple compartments. Never leave without a patch kit and the pump to be on the safe side.
How did this hold up, and did you modify the seat
@@jibjreelharris3697 still going strong now. I ended up tossing the seats it comes with and using a collapsible fishing chair instead.
@@inflatablemooseadventures what chair is that , where can I order one, I love mine but that seat is hard of my back
Brodie you are nasty as hell for kissing those fish. Especially that perch that clearly just defecated on your hand yet you still kissed it. Do you know how close your lips were to fish sħ%ť?
That’s fun!
Big time! :)
The song was pretty gay but the boat was alright
For real😂
How long did it take you to inflate the kayak? Thinking of getting this for my son and I to enjoy fishing on quiet ponds together.
@@bonnief181 takes maybe 10 minutes
I love these videos when people don't have to spend thousands of dollars on expensive Kayaks or gear to have fun, congrats man awesome video.
Thank you!! Hoping to upload some more this summer.
Keep up on the vids m8 i followed, i liked
Thank you!
Great vid 2 years later how is it holding up?
holding up great, used it a few times already this summer. :)
@@inflatablemooseadventures I have the Dakota 2 still scared to fish with it due to hooks, but it seems to work for you
@@garyeastwood3627 Just need to be aware of where your hook is and not be careless when fishing. If you think about it. These kayaks have 3 compartments for a reason :)
all by yourself, the same why I go
Detaching from everyone for abit of alone time is very healthy. People can often start to lose themselves in the regular day-to-day.
Hi, is the kayak fast or slow?
where did you get the sail?
Amazon! they're pretty cheap, just look up "pop up sail" or "kayak sail and you'll find it.
love it, i boght the same kayak but the two seater. Im about to try it out with my bro the first time
Mines the original 2 seater aswell! Its super functional because you can set it up for either 1 or 2 people. I'd recommend you pick yourself up a longer paddle - the ones that come with it are fine but you will find a longer paddle will help tremendously getting around.
@@inflatablemooseadventures oh yes i tryed it yesterday for the first time. And the only thinks that bugged me was the puddle lenght and that i had no ancor. But other than that it was great
@@lugge1358 Cheap investments that are well worth it and if ever you move onto a hard-shell or another inflatable you can re-use them there. Never a bad thing to buy an anchor or new paddle! :)
@@inflatablemooseadventures today i found out that you can use the parts from the second paddle to make one long paddle out of it. I tested that and it went perfectly well.
Can you list here your equipment? Thank you very much
Intex excursion Pro (first edition - not the K1) Fox 40 anchor set Pop up sail from amazon Recently also purchased a longer paddle; good investment.
Thanks for this upload. By the way, landing nets are handy :)
Have you had an issue with hooks getting in you kayak? I’m just worried that if I get mine I might get a hook stuck
No issues at all. Just always need to be aware of where your hook is in relation to the boat.
I respect you puttin the fish back in right away. leaving them out for a long time taking pics and measuring and stuff causes them to lose a lot of oxygen and get sick. Not a way that a true sportsman would be proud of. Good job out there and that kayak is looking strong!!
Always, and anytime you hook one in the gills its a mandatory keep in my books. Never let a good fish go to waste.
My Excursion Pro is on the way!!! Kayak fishing without having to own a truck!!! :D Loved the sail and anchor you had as well!!! Great vid!!
Thanks for the feedback! Its a nice little get-up for sure. I actually ran the kayak as a tandem one trip and we use the sail to get back to the boat launch. It was a really windy day and it was still chugging along faster than the hard shells nearby were paddling. :)
@@inflatablemooseadventures My maiden voyage will be next weekend. 🙂 Any other accessories or mods you suggest?
@@cocoathundr invest in an aftermarket paddle! one thats longer with a bigger face. Youll thank me later. :)
@@inflatablemooseadventures Thanks so much for the vids and tips!!! I had an absolute blast on my maiden voyage. Hope to get out more before the real winter starts here in Houston. Do you still use your kayak or did you move on to something different?
@@cocoathundr Im still using the same one, love it.
I recently purchased one and it came with a big backpack to carry it in
Must be new! this is the first iteration of the excursion pro. I saw they also released a K1 single seater. Personally I like the size of this one and it gives you the flexibility or having someone else tag along if needed.
I just got the K1 version! Taking it out tonight to test at the lake. Kinda worried about the durability of the material especially when it's folded tightly into the backpack (creases and folding pinchpoints). How has your kayak held up over the last year? Any leaks?
Still works perfectly. Mines the first version and it never came with a back-pack unfortunately. The K1 is a great option, love the flexibility of the larger version though if you ever want someone else to tag along! :)
how or where did you get that anchor
Canadian tire here in Canada, but you can also buy on amazon.
why are you fishing
its a fishing kayak bud. why not?
Where do you place the keel? Taking into account that the sail is located so far forward (spinnaker) do you place the keel in the center of the kayak or more forward, three quarters of the length, bringing it closer to the bow?
No need to a keel in this case! If you put the long skeg on the kayak it seems to be more then enough to combat drift when using the sail.
@@inflatablemooseadventures Thanks for the info ;)
Can you tack ?
My k2 arrived today, my first kayak of any kind, look forward to getting used to it and getting some fish I couldn't reach before and finding a secluded camp site that not many others have seen
Youll love it, cheapest way to get out on the water, ive had mine for 2 years without fault.
@@inflatablemoose157 going to take it out to a local pond tomorrow for some practice, inflated it up today to make sure all was good and it seems to be. I definitely think I'll be addicted which is funny since I swim like a rock lol, got my PFD first thing because of that
@@MrMann703 highly recommend one similar to mine with the large cut-outs on the arms. makes it easier to paddle.
@@inflatablemooseadventures got lucky and found one on sale, body glove 4 buckle, lots of room for the arms. The worse part about having the kayak is being at work on a beautiful day, I love it. After my first paddle I knew right away a better paddle was necessary, the stock paddles are 5 pieces which creates a lot of play that's very noticable, the shaft was to short for the width of my kayak as well as my hight and the blades were to flimsy to really dig in for stronger paddling, so I bought the Pelican Angler and man oh man the difference in my paddling was greatly improved.
Great video boss 👍 How's the boat still holding up? Thinking about getting one myself .. Thanks
Sure is! no issues with the kayak yet and its been going on 2 years now :)
Very cool 😊
Hello , great Video! I saw that you sprayed the boat when you finish to inflate, what it is? Thanks ! and have a good day!
Bugs spray, the black flies and mosquito's were really bad on the lake this time of year.
@@inflatablemooseadventures ok!! Perfect! Thanks
That's amazing 👏 Thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you for the feedback :)
G'day mate. How is it possible to fish from an inflatable kayak?Hooks & inflatable vessels are not a good mix.
You just have to be careful. When you reel in and cast its not really a concern so long as you are always aware of where your lure is in relation to the kayak. The only slightly worrisome situation is having to unhook a large fish inside the kayak. In these instances I would opt to have a towel or pad inside to rest the fish and avoid the hook accidentally puncturing anything. Though keep in mind there are 3 compartments for air in this kayak and the material is pretty tough, even if you were to puncture one of the pontoons you would still stay afloat and it would take a while for it to fully deflate. Always bring a patch kit and the pump along for the ride to be on the safe side :)
@@inflatablemooseadventures Thank you for your response mate.
@@inflatablemooseadventures you can also bring the patch kit with you that the kayak comes with and use in an emergency, i would also recommend carrying the pump with you. and as always wear a life jacket.
@@Runescape. Only thing to keep in mind is it doesnt come with the glue for it! That was abit of a shocker but you can head to your local shop and buy some goop - Marine. Works well.
Where can I find that sort of sail?
You can buy this on amazon, just search up "pop-up sail kayak"
Awesome Bro, I just bought this kayak, can't wait to hit the water. Where are you at there?
You'll love it. Great inflatable kayak ! :)
Nice kayak! I just got one myself.
Right? I'm going to take it on the river soon on a windy day for some more aggressive sailing and paddling.
