where did you buy that light bar from?
@@EasyMoneyCrew I purchased it on Amazon several years ago. I’m not sure if they’re still available or not. I believe I purchased it in 2019.
@@EasyMoneyCrew I just checked and I did buy it in 2019. Unfortunately it does say that they are currently unavailable.
@@thebustedwedge1141 sounds good that sucks i really want one of those bars.
Nice review!
What a handy little john deer
Yes sir, it comes in handy. I purchased it new in 2015. It’s a great little machine for getting into the woods and makeshift skidding logs out to a landing or picking small logs up and moving them around & piling up brush.
Hey man great video. When you put the clutch drum back on you dont need to worry about finding the arm just place the drum in the clutch and spin until you hear a click that means its in
REALLY loud music, too quiet vocal. balance before you post.
I hear him just fine on my phone. Sounds like you grew up around a lot of women with all that complaining 😂
1126 high temp silicone, gold.
i did 660pro has nikisil Italian top end .canged base gasket more squish .cleand ports .dual performance stainless muffler . foam filter. sthil bar sthil chain sthil coil sthil oiler thing rips . did few big jobs . nothing compared my881 stihl
thanks for video
A bit of common sense is required for what kind of saw to buy wether a knock off or commercial saw or professional saw. Anything can break but professional saw would give you highest probability of not breaking. I would only buy a professional saw because I’m out in bush miles from anywhere on snow machine and need the saw to work or my day is completely ruined. Time is money so if you will not lose much time buying a cheaper saw it might be right for you.
They seem equally good. It's always a good idea to have a spare chainsaw, just in case one doesn't feel like working that day.
I just had to replace my chain tensioner on my neotech 872 as well. I’m starting to change my opinion about these saws. But I’ll hold off a bit longer before in saw something. Chintzy is definitely the word I’d use for the trigger and choke
I have a G888. Uses lots of gas and makes lots of sawdust. I am having trouble starting it Any sugestions?
Are you having trouble starting it all the time or just when it runs out of gas?
@@thebustedwedge1141 Its hard to start with gas in it. About takes my arm off when if it fires. Yea i have ben using compression release button. Evidently you dont have that problem. Any ideas?
Not sure, I know the G888 is a bigger saw than the G660. Other than that, I’m not sure what to tell ya.
@@thebustedwedge1141 Yea, i even use starting fluid on it and it doesn’t fire. Thanks for the reply.
Why no new videos. Really good info I always just used the compressor so the brush is a good idea for the chain.
I started my own business in April of 2022. I’ve been extremely busy. I’m hoping to make some more content soon.
You are a beautifull dude man!!! That Stihl sounds like it has a turbo on it!! Thanks for the vid
Why buy a new Chinese saw and then put all these new parts on it? Buy a good saw to start with Stihl or Husky!!!
If a person can afford to just outright buy a new “good saw”, then I completely agree. If someone is running short on cash or just doesn’t really need an expensive “good saw”. Then I would recommend thinking about a cheaper alternative. The parts that were replaced were minuscule in comparison to what a name brand saw would be.
I had a big tree fall in the front yard . I could of paid a crew to cut it up, or I could save money by buying a big cheap saw and doing it myself. The saw literally paid for itself by just cutting 1 tree.
I have one of those you want to buy it. Never been used. Give me a holler if you do
Well, you know their first and third generation, right? So there's Gonna be a difference, one was a base model, and the other is a third generation After A lot of research and development....
With the G660 approaching $500 on amazon not so appealing anymore.
Not as much no, but still less than half as much as a new 661.
@@thebustedwedge1141 True the more I read reviews named brand stuff not all are great. At least when you buy a Chinese clone you know what you're getting for the money.
I bought 1 a couple months ago on ebay. $260 after shipping and tax. I did have to spend $13 on a stihl fuel line from the carb and the 90 degree elbow it connects to going into the tank because it leaked out the box. But other than that so far so good.
No protective gear at all, bad look for young people watching.
Who cares
Great video! Is the body on the Holzfforma all plastic or is it metal? Thank you.
It’s the same as the oem Stihl as far as material and overall makeup.
@@thebustedwedge1141 excellent, thank you for the fast reply!
So you know, that screen in there is your spark arrestor.
Thanks, I am aware of that. It’s meant to prevent anything that might cause a fire from coming directly out of the exhaust.
man those saws puke out chips fast
Great comparison. What car is that red one?
I weighed the pros and cons. I bought a G660 and did as many upgrades as was practical before I started it up with OEM genuine STIHL parts, as well as, a High Output Oiler, Dual Port Muffler and Foam around the Air Cleaner for easy cleaning. I am all smiles so far.
What are some upgrades that you think are good to do right away?
Hi, both are great saws, but I think both are running lean on the high rpm under load (especially the holzfforma) they should 4 stroke without load, and run clean under load - then you'll be able to use their full power. Here's a great video regarding carburetor adjustment: th-cam.com/video/2j9JyA49cv8/w-d-xo.html
G660 is badass saw all I just change out plugs out
How’s the Holzforma holding up?
Good so far, I’ve really got no complaints on the g660 that I have. I bought a g466 a while back and that I’ve had nothing but problems with since it showed up. It will not keep running.
@@thebustedwedge1141 Good to know. Thanks!
The thing I found to be JUNK is their carving bar, and chain. The chain is either and saw won’t move or after the first cut it locks up…
I have one, i ported and polished it and base gasket delete and run VP pre mix. Thing is a complete animal.
Thanks for the video I'm consider buying a Blue Thunder what size bar are you running on that Thanks
The bar in the video is a 32” Oregon light bar. But I have ran a 36” & a 42” bar on it also.
@The Busted Wedge Thanks for your reply I'm going to buy one for sure.
ya the wood looks dead or wet could be freezing and thawing out allot causing it to get water logged
Homeowners version of a teview
Please buy a helmet with eye pro those little widow makers that fell after the tree. If you get one to the head it may kill you we just lost a member of the logging team a couple weeks ago widow maker and he was a pro forgot not about chain saws then most of us could learn in 40 yrs
I actually have a skull bucket that I usually wear when falling. I didn’t in this video because I didn’t want to fix the GoPro mount to it. I did make sure there weren’t any hangers directly above me but that doesn’t mean that I couldn’t of caught one to the noggin after it fell. I shouldn’t put safety to the side for a video I understand that. I have no excuse for it. Thx for the advice and sorry to hear about the loss of your crew member.
And if that was true loggers wouldn’t square grind on a grinder like 510 Oregon don’t let these you tube pro logger dictate what you do man
You can sharpen with a dermal but dont linger on each tooth to keep ‘em cool
I like sharpening with a Dremel. I’m actually pretty good at that (unlike my hand sharpening abilities lol). The only issue with it (if there is one) is that the teeth harden because of the heat and don’t stay sharp as long. But it is my preferred method of sharpening.
pls wear chainsaw pants
What is the low jet adjustment?
About one and a quarter turns. It will vary though depending on the climate you’re in i. e. temperature, humidity etc.
Wtf is chinsey?
Very cheap quality, will most likely break easily.
For the price of these especially if your looking to get into tree trimming or logging you could get your over hand saw regular brush and small tree saw plus the big boy for them phat girls all at or under the price of one name brand not bad tbh
Ouch, killing me with that dull chain
We’re the same person. Same property size, same chainsaw interest. I hate my wife too! Lol kidding😂
I have a farmertec g660 put the good big bore piston kit in it, with the large jet walbro carb from the Stihl, custom made dual port free flowing muffler, and the saw runs really really good. I like farmertec I have 3 of them. They make a nice Husqvarna clone that rips too... husky 272. Thank you
You need to grind your rakers back a little bit more. that stihl has the power to pull that and get rid of that damn Oregon bar that saw will never saw properly with that Oregon bar on it because it creates an oil flow issue
Any new Holzfforma videos planned?
I do actually, not to try and make excuses but I’ve been very busy this year. I started a small business this spring and that has taken a large amount of my time. I plan to do a follow up review on the g660 & the g272. I’ve also got plans to do videos on a couple of other Holzfforma saws that I purchased. Sorry it’s taking me so long to deliver content. Thanks for watching.
Saludos des de Chicago. Soy de mexico pero me gustan las chainsaw Stihl pero está asul Seve fuerte y grande buen video grasias por compartir
great review thanks for posting
Hey, how about a 1 year review of all these blue saws. Still worky worky?
Did you add new dogs to it
No, those were the dogs that came with the saw.
Really? I'm impressed
Just be sure to loctite the hardware for the dogs if you purchase one of these saws.
what i normally change on farmertec filter starter coil carb hardware then shes good to go logging all day and clutch
(update) my hults660 with high flow oil pump on a 36" bar has been on my alaska mill for i year now. ive been using 32/1 and 90 oct non/ethanol fuel have not did any adjusting to the carb, changed the plug once. milled 1/2 dozen 80 ft pines into slabs so far, modified my recoil, i removed it, board a hole on center in the cover and start it with a 1 hp drill motor and a socket running off a tailgater generator works beautiful . my furry little paws just cant pull on that beast anymore. if you got an alaska mill put a small harbor freight winch on it with a pully at the aft end of the log, its a game changer!
