To all those doubting if dragon Ball z abridged is Canon or not. It actually is. It was endorsed by Akira Toriyama about a year or so after it came out. Basically, it's a fan-made dub/parody. Bottom line dragon Ball z abridged is Canon to the dragon Ball franchise.

This clip highlights my main annoyance with the Funi dub: just too much added dialogue and monologues. That and with the constant background music, Funi rarely let scenes breath properly. Sometimes, you need that silence to let a moment settle. The original Japanese version was just so powerful because the entire scene spoke for itself.
