What did you add?
kettle used in the video?
I did move the bombilla the first time i tried yerba mate and the argentinian friend he right away knew i moved it lol
Great info
Or just do it all at once with a Longer Bombilla in a Thermo 🤷🏻♂️.
Would nothing happen if you just leave it sitting there with the first pour of water. Where I work they don't allow anything but water and I'm not sure If I'm just going to have it at home. Or maybe leave it in the breakroom. How long can it seat between pours?
Probably a silly question but how do you drink 75° warm water through a straw without burning your mouth? I tried and ouch 😅
What brand French press are you using in the video?
Is it two tablespoons or teaspoons per cup? That looks like a teaspoon.
Can I ask how painful that was to mix the Yerba mate in that bowl to demonstrate what NOT to do? Haha. Also great fucking video. Thanks!
0:24 good marketing lol😂 Why is it the best
The canned versions of mateina say that it is roasted. Is this the same case for the version your using in this video?
Once I stopped drinking mate I gained 4 kilos during 4 months
This is not a percolator. It is a drip coffee machine. I’m getting tired of people who mislead people with their TH-cam titles. It’s either a deliberate attempt to mislead or the author is really that dumb.
Great points, thanks, I don't do it for the process, I do it for the buzz 😊✌️
Risky if the way they prepare it got contaminated u will risk of drinking dangerous tea that got contaminated. Do they check for chemicals spray contaminate being use in Argentina?
Why is this so complicated? 😢
I get traditional customs and whatnot but why not just steep it like any other tea? I don't understand the benefit of going through all these extra steps and using the special cup. What's the drawback of just putting the leaves in a steeping ball for 1 cup?
I understand that as you continue to drink with additional steeping, the flavor changes. It is also traditionally passed around and shared among friends. Each time water is added it brews a small amount of tea vs making a cup's worth. Mind you I'm not too knowledgeable of the tradition, but that's what I've gathered.
You can if you like. I do both
I just bought my first pack of yerba mate tea but now I'm reading that it causes cancer :( any views on this?
Can you link the study? The only link I can find is for consuming anything smoked, or drinking very hot water. Doesn't have to do with the yerba specifically.
Do you have ability shipping to Saudi Arabia or GCC countries ?I need for personal using. I hope to you get response, we don’t have good product like your product!!
If you make a shirt that said “Hands off the bombilla” I’d totally buy it!!! 😊
It’s not a cold brew you used hot water lol
You’re right! For this video, we used hot water, so it’s more like an iced mate. However, you can follow the same recipe for a true cold brew by steeping your yerba mate in cold water for about 6 to 10 hours! 🙌
@@mateinayerbamate so it’s faster to use hot water and pour it in ice rather than water hours for it to be ready 🫡
How many times can added water into it , like 3 times or 4 or 5 times ? ( before you start over again with fresh dry yerba mate leafs again ) ????
I believe he said 15 infusions. I normally do 500 cc up to 1 liter (as per my thermos) but you will eventually learn to notice: it will stop tasting like mate, it will be just warm water, and yerba will start to float around (we call that a Mate Lavado, washed down)
No thanks. I’ll just stick to coffee and tea
Right because it’s not like you’re already drinking dried leaves steeped in water or anything
Why would you even click on the video LOL..

Are u France ?
Sophisticated way of drinking garbage water
Very well-done! So cool. I still wondering why nobody suggests to put sugar on it (this is for the people that like sweeter than bitter), it is an option too. And here in Argentina we drink it both :)
Would putting honey in it be frowned upon? Or maybe mixing honey in the hot water so its already mixed?
should I dampen the mate with cold water first to protect it before putting hot water on it?
i do that but i also dont do this french press thing either i drink it the white person way and just put a little in, no mountain but with gourd and bombilla. sometimes like a little honey water and sometimes a lil more mate leaves after some refills
nah! dont let em know your next move! pure hot water for me! maximum extraction! 😂
How often do people usually drink it and how much is too much?
Every day as soon as i wake up. You will notice when is too much. You can change the yerba if you think is too soft.
Ok- but if I want to brew it and chill it and go? Would 2 min be ok for me to soak it and make it?
This overwhelms me. I feel like I have to think really hard to do this properly.
Take your time 😊
Great instructions! I wish you had affiliate links to the all the items you were demonstrating as I would order through you.
I just tried to buy this in America and it said that it's only available in Canada.
It's available on our US website drinkmateina.com/
@mateinayerbamate Thank you🙏. I will be sure to buy my next pound from there. I'm surprised that when I looked it up the first time on Google that the top site was for Canada. 🤔
@@tankgirllovesroos The Canada E-commerce has been our main stie for years, we just launched in the US, so it is normal that the Canadian site comes up first. But even if you click on the CAD Site, you will get redirected to the US site. 🙌
@mateinayerbamate it didn't redirect me. Gibing you a heads up from a fellow business owner. Also, thanks for itching my scratch of wanting to know why. Lol.
Very complicated way of making a cup of tea.
its not tea
🤓☝️
Its worth it
It's garbage water
@@JohnRamos-v3t but why is it worth it? what is the benefit of doing it this way?
great video, so if i put the leaves in it and only add water twice, lets say, once i finish the second water fill I can just leave it as is and add water to the leaves later? how long do the leave stay good that are wet at the bottom?
If You let it without puting new hot water regularly, the yerba gets cold and it gets ruined.
El buen mate de la mañana, en argentina si no te levantas y preparas un mate para comenzar la mañana, no sos argentino 😊
I received 2lb of your yerba a couple of weeks back and have been waiting for this video!
est-ce qu'il y a une version française de la vidéo?
Last advice about not leaving water more than 2 minutes is a golden rule. It should be written all over the package. I had to find out a hard way. Drank it after leaving water for 3 hours, i almost got a heart attack 😄
same 😂
Why a heart attack? Strong caffeine hit?
@@gboof no it‘s the horrible taste after 3 hours that will give you a heart attack hahah. I love the mate taste but after 3 hours its truly disgusting
@@gboof nah its like drinking a swamp water with a hint of frog poo and a dash of armpit sweat, with notes of dehydrated fish guts boiled in sewer. Flavors you didnt know existed all together.
How many brews can you get from the leaves before you toss them?
My first cup was a mess. Couldn’t waste it though 🤝
Hello guys! How many cups like this do you have to drink to feel the effect of, let's say, a can of mateina? 15 infusions might last for days?
Great question! Based on our experience, consuming 5-6 gourds (cups) of yerba mate starts to yield noticeable effects. With approximately 50g of yerba mate (equivalent to 200-250mg of caffeine) in a gourd that you can infuse up to 15 times, it's feasible to drink these 15 infusions in one morning or afternoon. Consider that a fully infused gourd is equivalent to approximately +/- 1.5-2 coffees. However, it's crucial to note that the combination of caffeine with Theobromine, Theophylline, and antioxidants often produces a different sensation compared to coffee alone. Therefore, it's essential to be mindful of your personal tolerance levels. Begin by infusing your mate 5-6 times in a short timeframe and observe how your body reacts!
My gourd turned dark black on the inside after leaving the leaves in after awhile. What does this mean? Can I still salvage this?
According to Yerba Mate Labs channel the blackening is natural, even desirable. Mold is fuzzy and can be removed. It just sounds like your gourd is seasoned. Check his channel and blog for more info. He's also pretty good at responding to comments.
Add olive oil every once in a while and wipe the inside and out. Your good to leave the herb in for 24 hours to Season the gourd.
What do you mean by 'awhile'? You shouldn't leave used yerba mate in the gourd when you are not drinking or over night. When you finish drinking, toss the yerba and rinse the Mate (gourd) with water and set it to dry.
Bomba muito pequena
Can I ask how much water you should add for the first infusion?
You should fill any container/gourd a little bit more than 3/4. Making sure you pour the water at the sane exact spot, leaving some leaves dry through the first few pours! 🧉
@@mateinayerbamate awesome! Thank you!
2:58 you mean to leave a first half dry of a mug verticaly divided or horizontaly? I'm new here, so sorry for silly question
Hey! When adding water to the gourd, fill it almost to the top each time. Since you're pouring water into the same spot repeatedly, some leaves at the top may remain dry. To ensure even hydration, shift the pouring spot slightly towards these dry leaves with each refill. This method allows the top leaves to stay dry for approximately 4-5 refills, though the exact number can vary based on your refill frequency.
@@mateinayerbamate thank you so much, today I have prepared my first mate by your video and the result was fenomenal!! Thank you!!!!
Promo sm
Nice one 🧉
Thanks 🔥
i might be kinda late to the game but my question is important. HOW OFTEN can you refill that water until you have to throw out the mate herbs ?
Hey! Never late to the game. You can refill as much as you want. The Yerba Mate will be less strong each time you refill.
you keep on refilling water until it no longer gains taste from the leaves, and just tastes like regular hot water
Is adding Lemon a good idea?
@@shahidalakhani9486 some people add other herbs, you could try adding tiny lemon peels, mint leaves, and others.
