Re: discussion of Toto Drake. There are multiple Drake models. Installed 3 model CST744, larger water surface area and very strong flush, but appears it’s no longer made. Remodeling my other home and had to buy CST776 Drake assuming it had at least as good performance, not even close to the CST744. Both models are 1.6gpm. I won’t buy Toto again either.

Only one toilet with dual flush at the top 5? It realy confims Americans being enviromental wastefull. Here in Germany you actually need to go to a museum to find a toilet not having dual flash... And of course Japaneese would lough about none of the "best" toilets have integreted bidet (automaticly washing your butt and for females also front parts...). I just had 2 Gerber comfort height toilets installed in my home . The Gerber was the recommendation by my plumber. It definitely is comfortable for height .. but with the Government requirement of using 1.6 gallons of water it will never flush as good as the original 1951 toilets that originally were in the house when it was built.

The best toilet should flush well and fit most people's budgets. I don't think any of the recommended toilets fulfill those requirements.

Amstan, American Standard elongated Cadet has a longer trap way and out flushes most in the sponge test, getting rid of the solids is most important

Actually, when installing a 2 piece toilet , you'll notice there is a neoprene (?) sponge gasket between the tank and the bowl . To stop the neoprene from drying out and disintegrating , consider coating it with vaseline . Do not use any automotive grease for this , as these types of greases can damage rubber . . .
