I don't understand all the fuss about cheap infotainments. You only ever look at it when it's in carplay/AA, so all you're seeing is spotify and maps which work perfectly fine. If it was an easier install then maybe it could be considered but with cutting and visible glue? Simply not worth it.

Here in the UK we have a direct replacement Alcantara wheel, i fitted it to my GR Yaris a few weeks ago. String Theory garage.Worth every penny. Ive also now lowered the seats using SW Motorsport kits, far better driving position.

AAWireless would have solved your Android Auto/Careplay wireless Problem. The experience I had with after market head units was, that Android was very Outdated and never updated by the manufacturer.

I know this channel mostly does sponsored showcases but if anyone is actually interested in a better infotainment solution for GRY. We have many people in the forums upgrading to a Yaris Cross headunit, most car settings also keep working. They also done a much better job with it without glue everywhere :)

If it was a perfect plug and play with good fitment, and could be swapped back to stock, then I would be somewhat interested.

I’ve got a wireless CarPlay adaptor and a charger pad in my armrest run from the usb to a usb set up in the arm rest. Works perfectly and connects as quick as this does with no hot glue and cutting.

Looks like a good unit Lewis. Maybe someone could design a 3d printed shroud for better fitment. Did you say you used hot glue? Is that removable?

Your right the head-unit is garbage, the resistive touch screen and the UI looks like something out of 2010. I also have a 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS and its head unit is miles better even though its 2016 era. Thanks for the videos 👍

What's the use of that "anti-lag" on the street ? Be aware, your engine internals and turbo were not built for competition nor to support anti-lag function

I was going to say the worst part is the seating position ( if you're a giraffe like me). I've been looking at lowering option but hesitating because of insurance issues. Yes the head unit is absolute garbage . Only consolation is that i have it turned off so i can here the eventuri flutters 😁 Steering wheel looks great, well done.

It was either this or the flows. Read reviews the TRD front lip just too low for a daily. So went flows. But the TRD looks way better haha. Good choice.
