Hello - There was no temptation from any Tree. The story is the symbolic representation of the raising of Eve's kundalini base chakra serpent-force which results in illumination. It's really two-fold. Yes, God wanted us to CHOOSE Him, willingly, but also, neither Adam nor Eve ASKED to be created. Even giving them life, was an imposition upon them. So, He put them in Paradise but gave them an out. If they did not WANT the gift of life, all they had to do was eat from the Tree and they could end it. Imagine being created into eternity, but not asking for it. NEVER EVER being able to "escape" it.

No one answered this question at all, the doctrine of eternal punishment, which I believe is totally false, renders this question, namely, why did God put that tree in the garden, completely nonsense. Why would anyone put a test of eternal heaven or hell in front of anyone ever, much less to test your own children this way. Who on earth would test their children with an eternal torture chamber as a consequence of failing some test of love or obedience or anything?

WHAT'S the Point of CREATION? Is God's point to prove that evil men can never rule, and only He is worthy to rule in righteousness. The Creator of the Game can Break on no Rules! What would the world be like, If God had created it and the human race, as heaven will be...WITHOUT SATAN or Evil? Did God creat the tree of good and evil, and the devil He put in the garden with Adam and Eve, as a reason to give us the free will to choose Good or Evil and Him or the devil? If a Holy God created Satan and Evil to give man a choice between God/satan, Good/Evil and Love/Hate, why didn't God just make earth like heaven will be for eternity, and leave out Satan, Sin and Evil? If God had just left Adam and Eve to their own demise, don't you think they would have learned how to sin by themselves without the temptation of satan? I think the world like this would have been like the coming 7th millennium. Imo, If God had set up creation as heaven will be for eternity, then each person would be rewarded for their own merits, and not be Tempted by Satan, and judged, cursed and condemned for sins started by their Great Grand parents. God's ways are not my ways, and I was not even vapor when he laid the foundations of the earth. This was told Job, when he asked why was he so harmed by satan, allowed by God, in the middle of the challenge of satan to God. Did that really answer Job's question of Why? Wasn't Job's situation, basically like everyone's life, where we are tempted and hurt by satan, and judged and cursed or blessed by God. It's strange that the Good Shepherd sends His sheep out among the wolves. Why does God bless the evil people who hate Him with long healthy lives and allow them to rule the world? Why does God curse the good people who love Him and make them suffer and die sacrificed on the crosses of life and take them out of the world, when they should be ruling it? Did God curse His creation and creatures so we would need him, and he could someday reverse the curse and come on His white horse and save the day? In light of the continuous suffering I've endured the past 15 years, that has derailed my music ministry for God, and the wretched state of this world, sometimes I have to ask Him tough questions. I don't mean to second guess my God, and I always apologize for any possible insults, which is the last thing I would ever want. Forgive me Lord, if my questions offend Thee.

Long ago I used to listen to his preaching but when I came to know that he has engaged in sexual behaviors outside his marriage, I felt that listening to him is just a wasting of time.

I believe God created the tree of knowledge of good and evil inorder to establish the basis for rewards, because revelation 22 verse 11 Jesus says; Behold I am coming quickly my reward is with me to give everyman according to his works shall be. So therefore His rewards will be justified by the availability of knowledge of good and evil. This has nothing to do with salvation because the scriptures clearly says for by grace we were saved through faith not of yourselves but it is the gift of God lest some will boast about their works, also Paul says man is justified by faith apart from works, so in conclusion the tree of knowledge of good and evil was created to establish the basis for rewarding man.

These guys use Word Salad. They make their answers seem complicated, not to clarify or answer the question, but to secure their appearance of being relevant. When they don’t know the “why” they make their answers abstract and complicated and basically are saying, “man cannot perceive the intelligence of God”. The question was why put a tree of good and evil in the Garden of Eden when God knew what Adam and Eve would do? The answer is simple. God prepared all things so that men and women might have choice. Perhaps Adam and Eve were as innocent as children. And they were given rules, choices, and moral agency. Who knows how long Adam and Eve obeyed the laws given to them before curiosity took over, temptation, or the realization that their growth was stagnate until they took that fruit of good and evil so that they might know the difference and begin their process our society now refuses to accept, which is to discover the difference between good and evil, choose for themselves, and experience consequences for their decisions, which bring personal growth.

Adam and Eve disobey the Genesis 1:28 commandment--the first commandment--to "be fruitful and multiply [in the Garden]" when they become one flesh incorrectly (Genesis 2:24) by eating from the wrong tree in the allegorical Garden's center (Genesis 2:9).
