ECE have scope but ECE + Tier-3 have very very limited oncampus placements. If you are okay with branch change then do it. But anyhow your college won't able to place you above 8LPA. Hence, Required extra efforts from you only. That could be GATE preparation and doing masters or Join some CDAC type institute and prepare. Note: Institute or College have just one main role to fetch opportunities other than making you skilled.

Choose one domain and prepare first. Start applying for fresher/intern roles once, 75%+ preparation is done. Do networking on LinkedIn with employees of your target companies so that they can refer you once required.

Chances hai ki spot round me Trichy VLSI mil jaye aur agr interest vlsi hi hai so that would be better. Abhi ke according, it's very confusing. You have to decide: KGP SPCOM or Calicut vlsi. Both are Good.

I would have gone for NIT Allahabad if they allowed electrical guys for VLSI in 2020 as both NITs carry almost a similar reputation in terms of placement so it's better to prefer a nearby home.

Electrical is not recommended considering placements from my side. If it's TIER-1/2 college then it would be ok else not.

VLSI has HDL coding. Syntax of C and Verilog is similar but the feel is completely different. CSE guys write code to solve the problem. While HDL coding tells which hardware will actually solve the problem. Because eventually everything is on to silicon. So, Syntax knowledge and problem solving skills would work for both job types but feel is different. Anyone wishing to switch between these domains would surely require serious efforts.

Yes, The VLSI test/ interview would require courses and projects discussed in video.

Salary doesn't very much depend on domains. Usually, same package is offered during on campus placement for all domains as they are from same college. Growth afterwards completely depends on project, team and individual's effort

Yes, if you can manage a 700+ score then it would be very much good. It would be good even if you are able to manage 600+ gate score.

SSC CGL has more money, if aim is to earn money anyhow. VLSI has more money, if you want to earn money honestly. Both are tough to crack. No Job-pressure after cracking SSG CGL as government job security is very high.

No, VLSI guys usually have a career up to 45+, if they don't go for self retirement

Preparation usually requires 8-12 months of time. But you would require some college / training institute which can bring opportunities for you.

You must have lost touch with the electronics subject. To revise that and to prepare for vlsi, you would require 8+ months even if you go consistently faster

IIT Jodhpur is good but you should apply for CCMT as well. Because any of the top 3 NIT VLSI would be better.

Delhi Govt colleges would be best based on Placements and exposure. No need to sacrifice your home town for UP state government colleges.

Failures to aate hi hai. You have to forget that and restore your confidence. Also, Abhi to ECE ke basics pdho first year me....second year se GATE start krna.

C is enough as a prerequisite. You can learn Verilog directly....C & Verilog have similar syntax so that would also work to directly learn HDL.

1. Ranks nhi GATE Score ke basis pe allotment hota. Us time pe to 600+ Score pe hi Rourkela vlsi milti thi....abhi (2024) to phle round me hi 600 ke neeche se suru hue hai. 2. Nhi, Mediatek ne 12th ka as such kuch specifically nhi dekha tha but NIT me addmission hi kha hoga 60% ke neeche....
