IAM from PA FAYETTE COUNTY AND OUR BROWNS RANGE FROM 12 TO 15 INCHES
@@ronaldlutz5673 If a little road trip exploration is something that you could swing, I would suggest doing some mapping online of areas other than Fayette County & go see if you can find some better water….. not to say that those sized fish aren’t enjoyable to catch also….. but sometimes a little exploration pays off big! 👌😁🎣
Another great video Dusty!! 🌊🌤️🌲🏔️
@@Big38OnTop Thank you very kindly my Brother! 🤜🏻🤛🏻🤙🥰
Can you please explain more how you rig your fishing pole how you tire your spinners and all that if you don't mind me asking where is this location at where you fish at? Thank you very much
But I do love your videos I love fishing myself
@@Navajojoe2405 Well my setup is pretty standard actually, I just run 8lb. Stren mono & tie my spinner straight to my line, no leaders or swivels….. other than that I do All of my fishing in Pennsylvania streams, No Lake Run streams ever either! 👌🤙😁🎣 Appreciate the compliments as well…..☺️🤙😊
Amazing water that I'll never see The trout are beautiful
Fun content. Tight lines.
@@chrismatsko6601 Thank you very kindly my friend! 🤙😁🎣
Nice browns👍👍
I'm hearing a kingfisher in some of those spots. On a sunny day the shadow of one will send trout under the banks.
@@woodydavis8287 Lol…. I literally experienced this on a big one that I had spotted & was just about ready to make a cast on & a damn Turkey Vulture shadow sent him for the hills! Haha🤦♂️🥴🤷♂️😂
I like the way you turned that one downstream so it wouldn't spook the pool. I ve been doing that since 74. These slow pools are so hard to fish without spooking the wily ones. It's like stalking deer through a bowl of corn flakes.
@@woodydavis8287 Yessir True Story…… clear water days can be super tough on those small waterways!
Please learn how to handle fish better by releasing them in a timely manner and using barbless hooks, if possible.
@@user-qm3kb9vh3o please watch the last 3 years of my content and decide for yourself if I’ve gotten better at that…….this footage is all from 2020👌🤙👍
this is my first year fishing for wild brown trout and I love it. from PA as well, learned a lot watching Dusty’s Videos

Sick trout, can't get enough of these videos.awsome job!
@@RickKostenbader Really appreciate the compliments my man….. Thank you kindly 😊
You really need a net. The amount of times I’ve seen you poorly handle a big trout is ridiculous. You either beach them or tire them out to exhaustion. Do better.
Watch the end of the video
Yeah man, I am friends with you on instagram and I have nothing against you but the net is a must. You can even get a used one for like 70 bucks, a nice fishpond net.
@@kg3196I did. No net still. Thanks for the useless reply.
He clearly said in the video that this is old footage from 2020 before he owned a net. Apparently people like you just don’t have the patience to sit through and watch an entire video.
Someone’s jealous… 😂
Always enjoy your content Dusty! Thanks man.
You know I`m hooked when I can tell how old the video is by the color of your rod! The red one is older.
@@ralphempson2719 Lol…… you are on it my man!!! Hopefully this year coming I’m finally going to break out the long stick! 👌🤙😁
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Long stick I would assume different waters? Barbless hook will be a challenge.
@ long stick = Fly Rod🤙
What I love about this is that you can tell you are in it for the fun! You have your fishing streams and have history with a lot of these fish. Do you always check out new waters too? I really enjoy you and as you can tell repeat a lot of your videos. Be safe out there young man.
@@ralphempson2719 I really appreciate your love for my channel my friend…… This is definitely one of my greatest passions in life as i know you can tell, so I’m very grateful that you can appreciate what i do & what im about…… Definitely Love these fish & the hunt for them! ☺️👌😁🤙 As far as new water though, I definitely love exploring new waters in new areas….. 👌😁

@@BackMountainOutdoors Appreciating the love as always my brother…… really excited to finally hopefully get back out on the water a little more regularly here soon!🤞 Get me some of that Winter Grind Content 🤙😁🎣
Dusty another really enjoyable video, love watching you hooking and dragging those tanks across the creeks. You have a really good eye spotting where the big hammers are laying. Stay safe on the roads and keep landing them! Glad you got the net, I discovered the need for netting them, I lost a whole lot fewer fish after I started using one. I will keep watching.
@@LyndonJones-f9s Really appreciate the compliments my guy, & glad you’re enjoying my stuff & definitely going to make all possible attempts to keep the good times rolling for you guys on a little more of a regular!! 🤞👌😁🎣
Those are some incredible wild browns. I fish a creek in PA very similar to the one you're fishing. My biggest one yet 19 and quarter. I believe there has to be a 20+ in her somewhere. Unfortunately I can't fish the whole creek because there are private properties along it. Good job
@@grizzlydan9832 keep after it brother, keep me posted if/when you get that biggun! 👌🤙😁
Where's that new Zealand?
@@fishgolfguy Looks like it right…. But actually Pennsylvania, USA👌👍😁🇺🇸
I just lost a brown trout earlier today that was probably around that 26 inch mark. would've been my pb
@@notthere129 Dammit man…… well the good news is at least now you know where it is & you can go back for it….. 👌🤙👍🎣
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Yeah, Great vid btw! forgot to mention that!
Ok 🤔 just a thought but Man Imagine if you were float fishing with some beads in that creek🤯 or fishing some egg patterns on a 2 weight😃 be just awesome…
@@garystevens1044 don’t be surprised if you see me with a fly rod in my hand at some point throughout this upcoming year! The consideration is 💯 there!👌🤙😁🤷♂️
I really need to stop commenting when it only half way into the video!! 🤦🏻♂️ but if the creek is on your property I’d take a backhoe and dig out the channel a bit deeper in a few spots to help that flow out down river… but definitely some impressive fish though… KEEP ON THE FLY BROTHER!!!
@@garystevens1044 Unfortunately I don’t own any stream front property so that’s not even a possibility, but fortunately mother nature does a pretty dang good job of changing up the structure of the streams that I fish so it’s an all around win….. 👌🤙😁
Fuckin dope as always!
@@Drew99GT 🤙😁😉👊
Get em buddy
Your fishing excursions are simply the best. Your home state appears to manage the stream, rivers and creek fisheries to an excellent outcome! Good on ya, Dusty!!
@@R377R0 Your compliments are too kind…… and I Thank you!!! ☺️😊 Pennsylvania definitely has some amazing fishing opportunities, but furthermore my lifetime of learning these great spots is primarily why it seems almost routine that I do, we’ll say….. “Slightly Above Average” in the bigger fish department! Lol When we set ourselves up for success, we’ll have it more often…… 👌🤙👍😁🎣🍻 Cheers & Tight Lines my friend!!
@ All my best to ya, Dusty!
Dusty Love this video, there are several people posting videos about trout fishing Your's are by far the best, I now only watch you. Keep it going hope you get the new videos out when the weather improves
@@LyndonJones-f9s brother you’re compliments warm my heart! Truly appreciate the kind gesture my man!!! 👌🤙👍😁🎣🍻 Cheers & Tight Lines Boss🤙😊
Dusty IS THAT GUY
What do you look for to tell the Gender of the fish?
@@AustinHorning The biggest indicator is the hooked jaw, or beginning of on….. also known as a kype on a male…… the females have a much smaller & more rounded mouth! The males when they are in the 20+” range have a much more aggressive look to them, like a pike/musky or gator! 👌👍🤙
Thank you
I have been fortunate to be able to make a living fishing for most of my adult life and have caught about everything that swims in both fresh and saltwater and i can count the amount of 20"+ Browns ive caught in creeks on one hand by holding up zero fingers!! These are Unicorns and amomg the rarest catches available in freshwater. Tremendous stuff my friend, thats a helluva fishery and i come from a fishy place in Michigan!!
@@davewylie654 I really appreciate the acknowledgment & compliments my good man….. I definitely put a ton of time, effort & boot miles to make these productions & just because some may think it looks easy….. we know it’s not! 👌😁🤙 Cheers & Tight Lines my friend! 🍻🎣👍
I'm so jealous that you're catching so many great fish! What spinners are you using?
@@mazdaleman3968 I run the gold blade Mepps Aglia 🤙
Nice catches !! My funniest big trout hook job was when I literally hooked its mouth shut 😂
What size spinner do you use
@@Splashy_bros I prefer size 2 & 3’s👌👍
Awesome videos! I went to school with a guy named Dusty Rhoads in Corning NY back in the day.
@ Yessir, there are a few of us out there….. but I’m the only one that’s still trying to learn how to fish!! Haha😜😂🤙
That’s a nice brown, beauty!
Ever contacted Sheldon’s inc re a little help with gas and a large box of 3&4 spinners? You must have 5000 pics of beauties with mepps hanging
So wading UP into the brush!!! Like you gotta. How many patches on waders before they are done for lol

Not even close there bud, lol. Stocked fish that’s to funny! Far from a stocky. 100% wild brown trout
@@BackMountainOutdoors Now tell me how you know that for sure. All day. Then I’ll tell you why I say stocked.
@@shorelineanglers7912 jealous? I think not. Can’t I have an opinion without being jealous?
Wow! Tiny creek with lots of trout. Good catch!
That is crazy. Stream like that here in Georgia would be worn out, or full of chubs. 😂
@@tommyhunter1817 Oh trust me, there are ones here like that too!!! But rarely just rarely you find a special one…… & try to keep that one a secret when you find it! 👌😁👍
@ understood. Trust me.
Here we go!!!!°!°
Have you ever considered a centerpin setup? I know you are western/central PA, but any thoughts about chasing chrome or big browns from Erie or Ontario tribs? River run fish are truly a gem when they push 20+, but I tell ya what I’ve stopped caring when I catch a fat lake run fish lol.
28” in those cricks is like 20lbs in lake Ontario tribs and 25 in lake michigan tribs. A center pin would be a cluster in those streams. These fish are like hunting turkeys not shooting geese.
@ I like my geese how I like my teeth. Extra flossed.
@@cb57689 Definitely not saying Lake Run stuff wouldn’t be fun….. I mean big fish fight hard….. but I kind of pride myself on going exclusively for big landlocked stuff! I guess the challenge is what I pursue….. Love chasing big fish in little water…… especially when it’s a surprise when you find one in there!!! You know big trout come out of the Great Lakes…… so to me, half the challenge is already gone! 🤷♂️ Just my take on it…..
I have caught far more 20lb+ Browns fishing Lake Michigan and her tribs than i have ever caught 20"+ creek Browns, what he is doing is far more special and rare
Nice one! I can’t wait to get back out on the small water. Hunting season is about a wrap for me it’s the last few days of rifle tagged 2 doe and my son shot his first deer this year no buck this time next year have fingers crossed. Water is calling my name! Tight lines!
what size and rod action do you prefer for browns?
