WHO ARE WE?
Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370!
Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way.
Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea.
We hope to inspire you, just as we were inspired by other TH-cam channels, to chase your dreams and explore the wonders of this beautiful world. Join us on our journey, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more sailing adventures!

    Great vid. We just had 3 weeks at Ko Chang Archipelago from Jan 26 to 13. 7 days on an Island Spirit 410 and then 5 days on Ko Chang and 6 on Ko Kood. Loved all of it. Ko Mak and Ko kood were favourites. Loved it! We had lunch at Caption Hook resort. What makes it great for Boat charters is that all the resorts are so welcoming.

    I have been thinking of getting Starlink Roaming so I can use here in OZ and then when I move to Thailand would be able to use there but I looked at the availability map and it shows its not available in Thailand as yet so my question was does it work for you either in a marina or anchored off shore of thailand ....... cheers you 2

    • @SailingNoRegrets
      @SailingNoRegrets 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We activated our Starlink in Australia and flew it over with us. We started with the 50G plan (AUD $80) and have now changed to the global roam $197 unlimited. It has been working since September. I did speak with someone who said theirs did not work, but cannot confirm if they activated in Australia or their home country first. Ours is certainly working well.

    Nice job on the shades. I see you did not opt for the "value priced" blinds so I think you saved a bundle! How tough was it to fish the cable to the port side roof?

    • @SailingNoRegrets
      @SailingNoRegrets 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We optioned for the Starlink cable to be prewired and supplied the ethernet cable, but then we had to pull through the new power cable for the mini. Seawind offer to leave to pull string so that you can do this easier yourself, and funny enough we did excatly that on another 1370 today! If you don't get a draw string, it is possible but from the targa roof you need to turn 90 degrees from the wiring hold and feed along the channel. It is possible, but would be a little challenging.

      Jo certainly isn't a fan of going into 30 knots, but reefing down and having minimal sail slowing the boat makes it tolerable. Luckily there wasn't really any swell to make it worse. We hope you have just as many memorable experiences of your 1260 as we did on ours as well.

    10:38 that was my biggest concern Chris, which you know I mentioned it before, on your old boat you did lean over to see the sails and a clear view, and i was concerned they (seawind) didn’t see this as an issue, what i said to Nick on ruby rose, “if they could just make that helm seat more comfortable to lean out to see around without actually leaving the seat, it would be much better for visibility”. But it seems you are happy.. 😊

    • @SailingNoRegrets
      @SailingNoRegrets หลายเดือนก่อน

      What I'm finding is that I used to stand on the step and lean outside with my head above the roof looking down the side on the 1260. The roof extends a little wider on the 1370 and you can't do that. However this gives us better protection from the sun and rain, the instruments and gauges are better protected. I rarely looked up through the glass window above the helm on the 1260, so I am now using that which is fine. It's just about changing behaviours to suit the new design

      No, I can accept them and put up with it during daylight hours, but don't use us as a turning buoy just missing us.

    I don't know the right spelling but this is pronounced like this .... Bottle Water =. Nam PLOUGH

      Thanks, we really try to resist buying bottled water, there's so many floating on the ocean and in every bay that we just cant support the stuff. We have been refilling our few bottles we have with the water maker and taking them with us, or we use our stainless thermos type to keep it cool. But Jo always has to have a Soda Water which causes she should ask for Soda, then they are fine.

      Thank you, we find "soda" works, but as we speak too fast "sodawater" gets lost

    worst thing is if someone hits you its Your fault , same as a car or m/bike ......... Thailand you have no rights

      That's our fear, there's lot's of Russian's and European holiday makers that think our yacht is really there as a turning marker buoy ,and they are speeding past us and turning at our boat barely a jet ski length away. A few have panicked and throttled off which of course loses all steering and that's come very close to hitting us. We've taken to standing on deck pointing and waving at them to move away and play elsewhere, holding back what we really want to yell, fortunately most have got the message.

      In Thailand as a foreigner if you have an accident / crash with a Thai it is automatically your fault because if you were not in Thailand there would not have been an accident
