I think it will help if that someone is looking at a career change and is motivated to study nursing. Some universities may accept a non science degree and in that case, a lot of background study in human anatomy will be needed make the transition easier and smooth. However, being a legal professional means there will be some transferable skills such as communication which is one of the 6c’s of nursing. Nursing is also backed by laws like mental capacity act, data protection etc. I’d say only transition if you’re absolutely sure and motivated to do so because the 2 year MSc is intense. It depends on the university schedule. A placement could span anything from 4 weeks or more or perhaps less. You get to do several placements before finishing the course. However, you need to have achieved 2300 hours plus other requirements to successfully complete the course.

Upon successful completion of the MSc preregistration nursing course, you can register with the Nursing and Midwivery council without the need for an OSCE or a licensing exam.

Any light weighted, easy to clean, foam insoles, slip resistant leather shoe- I bought my leather shoes from shoe zone. I’d also recommend you get compression socks to reduce leg fatigue and prevent swelling. Always check the guideline given at your placement area.

A placement can last anything from 4weeks to 12 weeks. (Could be more or less) while you can have 3 -4 placements in an academic year to achieve the required practice hours depending on your university calendar. I’ve had different placements with different lengths of time.

Thanks for your comment. I won’t be able to share that here without her permission. However, several universities in the UK offer an MSc in Nursing pre-registration. Examples are: Teesside university, university of Salford, University of Chester, Plymouth University, university of Hertfordshire etc.

Thanks for stopping by. Unfortunately, you can't choose your days for placement. However the rota for placement is usually given 3-4 weeks before the placement begins. This helps to plan ahead.
