Hart 200pc. Drill & Drive Set - Unboxing & Review!
My dad has owned the Gen 1 Skil 12V Brushless Drill and Impact driver for over 3 years. They have both been flawless and have outlived a couple of his Ryobi tools. I'd highly recommend Skil to anyone looking for capable, dependable tools on a budget
That’s good to know. Lowe’s had this set for $28, I thought I might as well give it a try. They had some other sets on clearance as well.
A while back i visited a lowes and they had like 8 different packout style systems. There was flex and kobalt and craftsman and klein, and i dont remember the rest. Its ridiculous. Now there's toughbuilt. Is there really a market for all this? Apparently not
Yeah it’s a lot of different brands trying to make their own system. I think Lowe’s needs to stick to like 3 systems that they can carry and display. It gets a little too hectic with 5 brands and having the different sized boxes scattered across the store.
Gotta practice your sanding technique bud
That's the Gen. 1 (part 57xxx). The Gen. 2 (part 67xxx) is shorter, lighter, and more powerful, with more modes.
En qué se diferencía esta Profactor de la ProCore?, ambas de 12ah.
I think they’re the same battery just different look.
La mejor batería.
What do you think of this one compared to the gen 2?
I’m not sure if there’s any power difference, but there’s a couple minor cosmetic differences between the two.
@@GearSpinTools I know that the gen 2 has more power and an improved chuck, but I’ve heard that the gen 1 has a better clutch and less of a soft start.
Nobosy uses ryobi on jobsites. Its either dewalt or milwaukee and the occasional makita guy
If the drill and impact driver weren't so ridiculously heavy for the average person, I probably would have gone with Flex. Lowe's had some crazy clearances on the turbo hammer drill combo with stacked lithium batteries right before they pulled them from the shelves.
Yeah for everyday use they are on the heavier side. I was doing some planting and drilling holes with an auger and the Flex was great to use with its power. For that application the weight wasn’t an issue at all.
@@GearSpinTools I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but the middle finger on my right hand is crooked due to the knuckle being messed up. When I was trying to drill parallel to the ground with the Flex, the groove between the rubber and the plastic underneath the trigger kept digging into that knuckle. That was the main reason I went with Ridgid. It has plenty of power for my needs, and there is no groove underneath the trigger.
Good quick review. I’ve been trying to figure out what cordless sander I want as well.
Thanks, first impressions are pretty good. I’ve got a 12v Bosch sander which feels great in the hands but the battery runs out pretty quick with 2Ah batteries so I think I could get much more sanding done with this one.
Hey, Kaleb. I think SoAlz said the Dewalt is pretty good.
How do you stop them from continuing to leak
You can remove & clean the goo from the inside. That’s what I did with a few of my batteries but then I had the issue of the lights start flashing not long after and I couldn’t use the batteries anymore.
YOU THINK IT WILL BE ON SALE FOR MEMORIAL DAY
I believe this set goes on sale every year for Black Friday/Christmas. I don’t remember seeing on sale for any other time.
Whats the prices on both? Nobody is complaining about the dewalt.......
Dewalt kitted with drill and 4Ah batteries is $329, Makita kitted with drill and 5ah batteries is $419.
You can get that exact same Makita, AND a hammer drill, 2 5AH batteries, charger, and the bag... For $419...
Is this a hammer drill vs a non hammer drill test ? Like oranges to apples comparision !
No it’s not because he’s not drilling through concrete and using the hammer function. He has both drills on drill mode, not one on drill and the other on Hammer.
Yes, the hammer function on the Bosch shouldn’t give it any advantages in this video as both were in drill mode.
Makita is stronger
I think I missed the shout out the first few times I watched this video, but I really appreciate it. You even called me an influencer. Wow, that's high praise! 🤣🤣🤣 By the way, your subscriber count is starting to worry me. I'm gonna have to watch out for you. 🤣 Just kidding. Great job, brother! 👍
Lol, no problem you influenced me to test these 2 drills. I’m slowly creeping closer in subs but your putting out great content so keep it up. 👍
@@GearSpinTools We will both get there, eventually.
Thats actually a Really Good Recip. Saw I've seen it in action , probably get a great deal on it right now it seems like Kobalt 24v tools are always on sale ..... 👍🖖
I’m curious as to which brand is the rebrand. I know that Icon is all rebranded from known manufacturers, but is Hyper Tough a rebranded Pittsburgh or vice versa?
The Pittsburgh version has been out for a while, I believe there’s several other brands that have a similar jack as well. My guess it’s the same manufacturer that makes them all for the different brands.
@@GearSpinTools That would be my guess, as well. There are only a handful of tool manufacturers in the world, and their tools rebranded with many different names. I found out that Duralast tools are made by the same manufacturer as Husky. They’re just rebranded versions of Stanley and a few others.
Why doesn’t Wal mart just sell hart and ryobi. Same brand. Ryobi access 24/7 would kill it. No one wants hyper tough or hart honestly
Walmart & Home Depot probably didn’t want to compete with each other over Ryobi sales so they made a whole new Hart brand.
@@GearSpinTools Yeah, I think Ryobi pays for a lot of shelf space at Home Depot. I think it's a shame, since Ridgid is actually the Home Depot house brand.
@donotrobme, if Hart is equal to Ryobi, I would probably choose Hart. I own a few Ryobi tools, which are mostly OPE, but the color makes me cringe a little bit every time I look at them. lol
I see you changed the title. The new one is definitely more fitting for the content.
Yes indeed
For people who don’t have large hands, the ergonomics of the Dewalt are way better than the Bosch or the Milwaukee M12.
Yes, agreed
@@GearSpinTools Ironically, I think the grip is better on the Milwaukee brushed M12 tools than on the Fuel. It's due to the ribbing on the rubber, and I pointed this out to my local Milwaukee rep.
@@DiligentDave1966 That’s interesting I’ve never held the brushed m12. I guess I’ll have to take a look at the demo next time I’m in the store.
@@GearSpinTools I have an old M12 brushed set that was $99 during the Father's Day sale several years ago. At the time, I didn't know a lot about power tools. The M12 Fuel combo must have been fairly new to the market because it seemed to be sort of pricey. Anyway, the grip is still fat on the brushed set, but the ribbing in the rubber makes it feel less awkward than the fuel version.
I don’t know if this one is anything like the 620 inch pound model, in terms of the forward and reverse selector, but I didn’t like that one at all.
I don’t think the selector felt weird to me, but Metabo does seem to have a looser switch than other brands.
@@GearSpinTools The selector on the 620 inch pound model that I got felt so loose, I was worried that I might accidentally bump it out of position while using the drill. I took it back and tried a different one, but it was the same as the first one. I ended up getting a refund, and I was sort of bummed because it was on clearance. It would have paired nicely with my triple hammer impact driver.
If you are on a Ryobi budget then just wait for the Metabo HPT sales. You can get a better tool at the same price.
Metabo does have some really good sales/clearence if your patient.
These drills aren't really about speed though?
Could you use 18v batteries?
If you mean the older batteries with a steam, then you would need an adapter.
get better quality an warranty from harbor frieght. as they either run the factories or buy direct from siad factories
You could get a harbor freight for $90 a few weeks ago
Yeah harbor freight jacks are the way to go when they’re on sale.
Thats at lowes. Awesome.
Yes
Is Craftsman still garbage ?
Not sure, I haven’t used any of their jacks. I’d check online reviews to see what other people say.
M18 battery is bigger than the tool. Lol
The lil one is the one you get for a dollar..don't be fooled
I’ve seen this drill in Home Depot, and it’s not really very compact, especially when compared with the Ridgid subcompact and the new Milwaukee.
Yeah agreed, although with their current battery platform how much more compact can they really make it.
@@GearSpinTools I agree, and I wish Milwaukee would have adapted a slide on battery, with the M12 line, like Dewalt did with their 12v power tools. It would have made for better ergonomics.
Unfortunately, neither brand has really stepped up their game in terms of impact drivers. At least Dewalt has been innovative in the battery category.
I believe Dewalt has been developing new impact drivers, so that will be exciting to see when they get released.
@@GearSpinTools Supposedly, the DCF860 is going to compete with everyone else. I’ve seen a couple of videos where the newest impact wrench body broke because it has too much power, though. Hopefully it is an isolated case, and it doesn’t happen with the impact driver. I really think Dewalt should also increase their warranty period to match the top competitors.
Not to take away from the Dewalt deals, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Avanti spade bits at my local store. I’ve seen their circular saw blades, though.
I wouldn't say that the Bosch is surprising weak. I would say that the Ridgid is surprisingly strong, especially for the size. I think the most powerful compact drills would be the subcompact Ridgid and the new Milwaukee M18 non-fuel.
That’s a good way of putting it, the Ridgid is quite strong for a compact.
Especially flex
Tools With SoAlz has also shown that drill to be really weak.
Milwaukiee, the best
The subcompact drill I got wouldn’t drive a 1” Diablo bit through a 2x4 in speed two with the standard battery. I had to use the max output battery to get it to do it. I’m not sure if I got a weak one, or if the bit or wood made a difference. I’m wondering if it could also have been because I was drilling parallel to the ground.
Very well could’ve been any one of those factors.
@@GearSpinTools I know that the clutch in the one I got was really inconsistent. I was going to test out some new bits with it, but it was all over the place with depth. No matter what setting I put it on, it would either drive the screw too deep or slip before driving the screw flush. I could never find a good setting, and that’s the main reason I returned it. I could have exchanged it, but my old Dewalt is still kicking and the clutch is spot on at 15.
Cryobi
😂😂
I wonder if the triangular shaped ones are universal for all oscillating tools. I might have to check out my local store.
I believe so, as long as your multi tool uses the velcro backing.
@@GearSpinTools That’s good to know. Someone gave me a Ryobi oscillating tool, but the little nubs on the sandpaper adapter were messed up. I found a replacement on Amazon, and I’ve been thinking about seeing if it works halfway decent.
Great job
Bro went to Lowe's, thought "I should make Shorts", and let the intrusive thought win.
I hate to say it, but my Dewalt DCD777 might beat the Ryobi, and it’s one of the oldest brushless Dewalt drills on the market.
I’d have my money on the Dewalt for that head to head.
@@GearSpinTools I haven’t been able to get the 777 to drive a 1” Diablo spade bit through a 2x4 in speed 2, but it consistently cuts out with only about 1/4” left. It might make it through with the bits you’re using, though, judging by how the M12 Fuel performed in your other video. What bits are you using? The 777 is rated at 340 UWO, just like the 708 Atomic, but the 777 has proven to be stronger than the 708 in my comparisons.
@@DiligentDave1966 Their spyder stinger spade bits.
@@GearSpinTools I haven’t tried those because I got the Diablo on clearance. I’m all about saving money lol. By the way, I have been mentioning the Craftsman brushless combo for awhile. As far as I can tell, it’s literally a rebranded version of the DCD777, DCF787 combo I have, except the drill is rated at 350 UWO. Maybe the Craftsman version tested stronger than the Dewalt, for some reason.
I think Lowe’s made a huge mistake by getting rid of the turbo hammer drill combo.
Yeah, the flex brand is kinda just in free for all at Lowe’s.
@@GearSpinTools I don’t know what is going on there lately. They’re seemingly trying to get rid of the Kobalt XTR line, too, which doesn’t make any sense. That is, unless they got a huge contract with Dewalt.
@@DiligentDave1966 Yeah, and Metabo is gone from some Lowe’s as well.
@@GearSpinTools It’s a shame, but Bosch and Metabo HPT just don’t sell very well in America. SoAlz has mentioned it a few times. I still kick myself for not getting the 36v hammer drill kit when it was on clearance. I didn’t get it because I wanted a drill, impact driver combo. The 36v triple hammer impact driver was still over $200. Sure enough, the triple hammer went on clearance, but the drills were sold out by then. 🤬😭
@@DiligentDave1966 Yeah I hear you, I don’t think I ever saw those 36v kits near me but maybe I didn’t pay close enough attention. Interestingly the Lowe’s closest to me actually expanded the Bosch tools they carry.
Brushless has battery life per charge.
The Ridgid subcompact is definitely a lot more powerful with the max output battery than it is with the standard battery that comes in the kit. The difference surprised me when I tested it. In fact, the drill that I tested wouldn't drive a 1" Diablo Speed Demon through a 2x4 in speed 2 with the standard battery. By the way, it looks like you picked up some more subscribers. Keep up the good work, brother! Thanks for the shoutout, too.
Try a 6" 3/8 Spax, and you'll really see how much better the Ridgid. Then try it with the new 4 mode, and you'll be saying "OMG."
I would steer clear of the Flex Phillips bits. They are durable, but they can out worse than any of the other brands I’ve tested. They just don’t fit the head of the screw very well. I haven’t tried the Metabo HPT bits, so I can’t say if they’re worth buying or not.
Thanks for sharing that, I think you made a video on them if I’m not mistaken. I’ll have to go back and watch it.
@@GearSpinTools "At least their power tools are good" is the title. Hercules, Bauer and Dewalt Flex Torq are way better Flex when it comes to Phillips bits. I still prefer Torx, though.
I have yet to see a video of the Ryobi drill performing well. It looks like I won't be seeing one anytime soon, either.
Yeah it sucks, if I weren’t making videos with it I wouldn’t keep it.
@@GearSpinTools It’s a great way to show people what not to buy. I’ve heard that the Ryobi impact driver and impact wrench are decent, though.
@@GearSpinTools Getting a damaged and returned Bosch didn't exactly thrill me. I would have exchanged it, but I'm really picky about grip and balance. The Bosch 490 just felt a little awkward to me, so I got a refund. I'm keeping my eye out for something else.
