@tdog9762 the alpha max 3d game board is for retro games, it has games and systems from the 80's to early 2000's with PSP being the newest system. Unfortunately it doesn't support systems newer than PSP.

@danyeo yes they look good, they keep the proper aspect ratio, so they are not stretched out and do not use the entire wide-screen .

My hope was that someone else more talented would build off of my work. I currently don't have the time to learn more and work on it

@@mr.mattsarcade9282 yeah I know next to nothing or would do it myself haha. I wasted hours going down a rabbit hole of adding games only to realise that it didn't support this board.

I started learning some more Python commands recently and have a few ideas on how to automate the process more, I just need to find the time and motivation to work on it. I appreciate you taking the time to thank me and leave a comment. I have not gotten a lot of feedback from people so I don't even know how many people have tried to use this program.

Hi yes I plan on making a video of how I added the dirksimple core and added dragons lair, unfortunately it's not actually the Daphne emulator so it's limited to just the 2 laser disc games that I added.

What games specifically are you having issues with? PSP games are only one player, all other systems and games you should be able to select 2 players

The game board should already have a mame2003plus core , you just need to add an entry for it in the start game.sh file. Check out my most recent video it goes over how to add cores.

For blitz you are going to have to do the Dreamcast version, I doubt the arcade version will work, it's very hard to emulate

You can hide games in the settings menu. You don't have to delete them. Unfortunately I do not believe it will reorganize itself if you delete lines. I think you would have to manually change the game number and video number.

@@mr.mattsarcade9282 is there a way to hide titles in bulk? I only ask as it feels tedious to go through almost 1k in pages to hide games. (I’m sorry if this sounds like whining.)

@@SakuraGraffiti you can in the settings menu choose hide all and then just unhide the games you want, or you can manually edit the games database there is a column called vis (visible) I think, 0 is hidden 1 is visible or something like that. If you edit the database make a backup copy first Incase you mess up

@@SakuraGraffiti you could probably also write a SQL lite statement to help automate bulk hiding games but that's beyond my knowledge,

I plan on doing a video on adding new RetroArch cores when I have time. The short version is place a newer mame core in the folder with the other cores, and add a new line in the startgame.sh file. There are some additional cores that are not used already on the SD card, some are already in the start game.sh file , some need to be added.

Hi, 18 is mame2010, 19 is PSP. There is no mame2016 on the game board. They labeled 18 as mame2016 but it's actually 2010, your best bet is to see if the game you want to add is available on mame2010 and use number 18. Hope that makes sense.

@@y0ush4 they labeled it wrong it's not actually mame2016, the mame2016 so file is actually the mame2010 libretro core. To run a mame2010 game you use 18 which uses the mame2016 so file but that file is actually the mame2010 libretro core.

@@mr.mattsarcade9282 so better question is Can we use Mame2016 core if yes than it will support a lots of new roms

@@y0ush4 if you can find or compile a compatible mame2016 core, yes we could add it. There is also another mame core already on the SD card, just called mame it's a much larger so file than the rest I believe it's a more current version of mame but I have not tried it or looked into exactly what version it is. It also comes down to how powerful the board is,and what it can handle, the newer the version of mame the more demanding it is.

PSP games are only 1 player unfortunately.

You need a USB keyboard. I don't think there is anyway to use a laptop. After you access the mame settings you can set it to use an arcade button combination, so you won't need a keyboard again

Archive.org is a good place for games, screen scraper is a good program to download videos.

I reused the limit switches from my original machine. The upgrade kit doesn't come with new ones

I'm currently working on a program to make it even easier to add games. Here is the preview of my initial program, I've improved it since then. I just have to run some tests and then should be releasing it soon. Stay tuned for the next video.

The format is capital first letter then the entire name in lowercase with no spaces I.E. Ccapitalletter, the reason is so you can search by just the first letter of a game . If you search for c it will display all games with the first letter c in the name.

Thank you. I installed the PSP version of dragon's lair. You install it just like you would with any other PSP game.

There are several different languages available on the game board, I honestly have not looked through all the languages as I only know how to read and write in English. There are other tables in the database besides the ones with en_ in front of them. The process i described should be the same except you would change the other language tables.
