Best thing to do in HK in 2024 = Don't Go. Many people with the means are fleeing. I know UK citizens originally from HK who are warned by the U.K government to never return because the U.K government cannot guarantee their safety. The government is coming up of all kinds of stupid ideas to create a facade of festivities like firework show every month while ignoring pressing issues faced by citizens. HK is almost at the bottom of the world happiness index. It is a sad, dying city, the social atmosphere is suffocating.

I prefer the Four Points by Sheraton just a few steps away from the Patong Beach as that's how it is shown in the video.I was alway a fan of Holiday Inn Patong Resort as it's situated just opp the Patong beach.If u know any more of such properties do share.Thanks

I lived and taught in the South both Hat Yai and Songkhla never had a problem with safety. We were warned of bomb threats from insurgents but this was rare and if your a tourist both cities are quite safe. Its a nice place to go on the way to Malaysia or even go to Koh Lipe island which is nice and less touristy.

Did any of the hotels have wild life issues?

Thanks for the sharing the info. Had a great stay at Ovolo Southside last Nov. The area is much quieter than most but not too far away from Central. About 15 min MTR ride and the close by station is 5 min walk. Staffs were friendly and we enjoyed our stay. Book directly to get the free daily breakfast. We used Marriott points and not entitled for it. Just FYI and not a complaint.
