Hey! I'm Matt. I'm from Philadelphia and I make content for a living. My favorite hobby is exploring Montana. I've been to 18 countries and 28 US States because of my work, but Montana is my favorite place in the world.
My wife, Nicole, and I own a 63 acre ranch in Polson, Montana called Mount Forge. We love going out there, but we also love renting it out on Airbnb and hearing stories from travelers who stay at Mount Forge. We love hiking Glacier National Park, skiing at Whitefish, and spending summer days on Flathead Lake.
The goal of this channel is to show you how amazing Montana is and why you should visit The Last Best Place On Earth. We'll include our best travel tips from our many trips to Mount Forge, recommendations on places to eat and visit, as well as videos of us doing some of the coolest things Montana has to offer.
You're welcome to stay at Mount Forge, the Gateway to Western Montana, to experience these incredible things yourself.

Best Anniversary Trip Ever - We Went To Montana For Our Anniversary
Anyone seeing this video now, there have been many updates to the track since he filmed this. No more tire barriers. All concrete walls and much bigger races. Hobby stocks calls now has an average of 20 cars each week and now the addition of a Big 5 super late model series that is aired on Racing America. Last nights Montana 200 had 29 super late model cars to start the field.
Fake they would have been weathered away over the course of 2000 years
We lived in Kalispell for 3 years and most of my free time was spent on those roads in my 2003 f150 . I have many videos on my channel.
Came for a room tour and got a bunch of random shota
What is the most scenic and beautiful of the all the trails to chose from?
Beautiful indeed
Short and to the point. thank you
Cringe.
SOOO Whats your Objective here? Sell out....
slap some x-country skis on and have an adventure...... 1) ski the Sun road from McDonald Lodge as far you can, beyond Avalanche Creek (6 miles one way). I've encountered moose, mountain lion, elk, and even a bear out early from hibernation 2) ski the Camas Road from McDonald Creek to the 'Meadow" turnout. bust across the meadow and through the woods to the "inside North Fork Road". follow the road back to Fish Creek and out to the Camas entrance. the silence upon stopping and observing is deafening. about 10-12 miles depending on detours 3) head to the Polebridge entrance and ski into Bowman Lake. just over 6 miles one way. have a beautiful mountain lake all to your selves. deer and elk are common sightings

Its my dream to die after an epic adventure slipping away while watching a sunset like this …. Si you better keep that goddamn air bnb open cause ill need a boking in 45 years
Hahaha - I'll take an advance reservation just for you. I have to adjust for inflation, so that will unfortunately be $1,000,000 a night.
please.. where is this. ive wanted to propose to my 3 year long relationship girlfrined and that seems like an amazing spot. is it public?
This is our Airbnb in Montana - it would be the perfect place to plan a proposition trip :)
too much camera movement. hello motion sickness!
Glad I got your attention 😉
I don’t care.
Thanks
I thought this was going to be a conspiracy video lol you lost me
HAHAHAHAHA
Oh it’s an add 😮
Does that mean i was supposed to get paid?!
Coors Lite? That beer was practically water already.

Hey I’m Quinn! 😂
Hi quinn!
On the other side of Idaho there is the 3rd biggest dam in the country you should do a vid on it it’s only a little while from the U of I campus and therefore Cour d’ lane (Dworkshaw Dam)
That sounds dope! I'll have to check it out!
3 dollars is a dank deal 🤝
Right!!
Bannock is better you just walk in
Will have to check it out!
Been there 4 times. 1st time was for my own exploration, the other 3 times was because of Family and friends saying: OH MAN, TAKE US WE WANNA SEE IT!!! Thank god i live nearby in Butte and its not a huge deal. Yeah, it's really Neat if yur a History buff
No treasures to mine
Are there any treasures
Yes! So awesome :)
@@bobkent4883 you are not allowed to mine for treasure from what I understand.
We walked around and explored, but we didn't take anything because i don't take things that don't belong to me. Besides it's illegal to take anything from there
Can you send me a link of your wall map
Haha it actually is from 1960 I found it in an abandoned school
@@MountForgeMontana lucky you
This is why I’m challenged to leave the populous South for hiking. Bears and Mountain Lions have been mostly pushed out.
Hiking is a lot more relaxing when you aren't on edge about getting attacked by a fucking apex predator lol. But you just can't get those views outside of Grizzly country in the US and Canada IMO
How very droll. If this is part 2 then part 1 must have been dreadful. Get a life.
how do you sleep at night knowing you charge exorbitant amounts of money, monthly, for people to sleep at night
Would you call charging the same price as a 3 star hotel for a 2 bedroom house that sleeps 8 on 63 acres of land exorbitant?
@@MountForgeMontana Now I don't need to be a business major to tell you that charging that low likely means something is wrong with it
@@RosemaryCemetery i charge a fair market rate so i can sleep at night.
Nah you airbnb, you are the non-human in question
Guess everyone who works in a hotel or restaurant are non humans too
Loser
Dang
Airbnb in montana. Just live there and be a legit resident instead of trying to pass off shady construction as a cheap investment to cash in on the Montana tourist boom. Who wouldnt put a 4ft concrete foundation wall under a building, pre-fab or not???? This in Montana! It gets very cold; the snow falls deep; instead of trying to pass off a glorified version of trailer trash.
The original plan which was the recommendation by the manufacturer was a concrete slab. This is far from shady construction you can look up the builder yourself it’s an Amish crew that builds to Montana state code. This house will last as long as any stick built home cause it’s the same thing. And after the appraisal- we agreed a 4ft foundation was definitely better and happy we did it, it just wasn’t something we thought of initially cause not what the manufacturer recommended. We’re in this game for the long haul not just “cashing in” but I understand why you would think that way given the environment out there today. We bought our first place in 2019 before the pandemic Montana hype. And also 90% of businesses, restaurants, and more in towns like Columbia falls, Polson, west glacier, whitefish, and more rely on the “tourist boom” to feed their families of local residents who work there. It’s a tourism based economy.
Go back to Philadelphia
No.
A gust of wind gonna be detrimental
The first house withstood upwards of 75mph. The new house is 30,000lbs and secured to the foundation at more than a dozen points. I ain’t worried at all.

Yeah I live in North Carolina and I clean airbnb's and you're absolutely right it happens and that sucks but you try and compensate in accommodate the guess the best that you can and that's all you can do we're only human beings and we make mistakes and it's cleaners my God stuff happens and I forget stuff sometimes too but for the most part I do a really good job. I got customers leave me tips and notes complimenting my cleans it's been really rewarding too😊.
Yep exactly! Most guests have been understanding if anything is wrong as soon as they realize I’m immediately trying to make it right. Goal is to never have to do it, but inevitably it happens on occasion.
As a host, this is good info
All I’m tryna provide!
Rich people problems......😢😢😢
Sorry if you took this as me complaining, cause I'm not. Just being honest about the work I'm doing and mistakes I've made.
Good I hope you guys fail air b and b has ruined many peoples chances of owning homes you people are scumbags and I hope you lose money
Doesn’t include price of starter braces either
facts - this airbnb ain't paying for my braces lmao
Yes, only RBNB is making a passive income. They are people who say this is propaganda paid by RbNB .
facts
I can't imagine how boring my life would have to be to give a fuck
Don’t listen to someone who is this old and still has braces. Making good decisions is not what this one is good at
Didn’t have the money when I was younger, I do now. I’d argue it’s actually a great decision to improve yourself later in life. But maybe you disagree.
happens if you airbnb long enough!
Just gotta try to be better!
So... you rented out a home with a broken window without warning guests, in an area with lots of rain, snow, and bugs? That's certainly not something to brag about.
It was a double paned window and only the inside was cracked. It did not leak and was fully functional. Relax.
@@MountForgeMontana Why would you not think to warn customers? If it's already cracked it'd be pretty easy to break it even more, and I'd probably want to know if there may be glass particles around that I could cut myself on
@@spiriten I don’t have to justify anything to you lol. But it was cleaned, taped, and checked between every visit and guess what? Nobody got hurt.
@@MountForgeMontana you are charging $832 minimum for people to unknowingly stay in a home with a broken, taped up window while giving no communication. I see absolutely no problem with this scenario - if you had communicated instead of just laughing at your customers.
@@spiriten I’m glad you’ve taken such a vested interest in this. This was two years ago, so we weren’t charging the same. I had a great conversation with this guest and we both had a good laugh and found humor in the situation instead of negativity, like yourself. I also don’t care at all what you do or don’t find a problem with.
this story wasn't worth a video
thanks for watching!
Lol why are there so many haters on you channel damn wish you the best of luck dont ever get down Montana is beautiful my mom just got some land in Tennessee i gotta go prep for airbnb
I’m sayin! Maybe I’m just a hateable guy. Thanks for the love ❤️
🤓
you look like bubbles from trailer park boys gen z son that got hooked on xanax
Honestly gonna take this as a compliment especially since i'm way older than Gen Z lmao
Pics or it didn’t happen
Funny hearing you complain about bugs... Ironic, AirBNB are the bugs and horror stories for the neighbors you invade yourself 💯
I wouldn't say I was complaining.... and I guess you can consider me an invader if you'd like, but I bought 63 acres of land in Montana so I'm pretty far away from my closest neighbor.
@MountForgeMontana Fair enough... that's legitimate use compared to the other 99% of them out there. I just know it's completely destroyed my town and the rest around Lake Tahoe. They're an absolute nightmare up here and the local scence is non-existent now... which has also caused major issues with businesses lacking people to work up here.
@@Hempdog yeah man - I've heard terrible things about what went down in Tahoe. We have one house on 63 acres and then developing more in a region zoned specifically for tourism near a National Park. I'm a heavy proponent of allowing vaca rentals only in certain neighborhoods/areas/etc. to promote good hand in hand tourism growth and residential growth. Tourism isn't going anywhere any time soon but that doesn't mean local communities have to suffer, they should prosper because of tourism if done right.
@@Hempdogif you don’t know the context and full story shut your mouth lol let the man do him rentals have been around for ages go talk shit on time shares
I thought the scariest for most people running an air bnb would be "daddys mortgage check bounced"
That's not a problem I worry about cause my wife & I write the mortgage check every month.
@@MountForgeMontana ahh daddy-in-law* got it
@@Mike.The.Jeweler hate all you want brother - I don't have to justify anything to you. We earned what we have and we pay for every penny of it.
@@Mike.The.Jewelerdon’t be mad cause you failed and ran your grandfathers jewelry store into the ground. 🎉
