Hi TH-cam comments ❤ My whole life I thought I was straight until ,get this, a TikTok of Pierre boo and Nicky Champa came onto my FYP… my confusion about my sexuality was no more After I watched the TikTok I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and throughout the last year and a bit I’ve accepted myself as being gay. I’m often asked if I’m gay by friends and classmates, and my answers was no, every time until yesterday at my best friends birthday party. The people there made me feel welcome, cuz they were so diverse compared to my classmates and some of my friends who are very Homophobic. At this birthday party, a mutual friend casually asked me what my sexuality was, and whether I was gay by saying “I will support you no matter what, but I was wondering whether you are gay.” And I waited for my bsf to leave the room, I pulled him into the bathroom and came out to him,I thanked him and later came out to my bsf in the pantry lol…it went like: Me: Bestie, I need to talk to you about something serious Bsf: umm, okay are you good, you look stressed *I was leaning over the kitchen sink breathing heavily* btw Me: I’m Gay Bsf: *she burst into tears *I’m so proud of you, I’m here for you and Hank you for coming out to me We had a good hug and I felt a relief like no other, like I could do anything In the world *homophobic friend walks in and asks we’re crying* Bestie lies instantly saying they’re happy tears cuz her cousin got into their dream school. We must’ve hugged and given thumbs up’s at least 200 times lol Also, she painted my nails😊 I was forced to take it off and my dad called me disgusting but that’s besides the point… When I’m around my parent, who I know I can’t come out to for the mean while at least I can calm my anxiety by knowing I have to supportive best friends. So , to all the ally’s that might see this and to all my closeted people, I love and respect every single one of you ❤ I hope that one day, South Africa 🇿🇦 will be more accepting and respectful of the LGBTQIA+ community. I hope that I can still be seen and respected as much post coming out to people as before. Stay strong people ❤

I’m so mad that I didn’t come out to my closest friends in person or even on ft so I could film it but all of them were through messages (and one was through an Instagram question box but we won’t talk about that) and I will forever regret that because ik I want to film telling my family but ik some of them will most likely not support me I wish I had filmed my friends because they were so kind and supportive and I wish I could have seen their full reaction and not just the messages they sent but I’m so grateful they still love me and I have the most supportive friends in the world

Been there done that...but for me it was in the 1970's and 1980's...even less acceptance...my dad was like Archie Bunker (Google it) and in 1968 was a George Wallace supporter (Google it)...it just wasn't possible in my life that I could be gay...I was the perfect student and got straight A's just to be loved and have my dad be proud of me....I had a girlfriend in high school...but I knew that it was a lie...I had fooled around with a male cousin since I was 13 (he was straight), I went to a Catholic college and everyone was straight and wanted to have 10 kids...and I fell in love with my best friend at college (he is straight)...being the 1970's, I married my high school girlfriend and had a daughter in 1983...but the feelings inside never went away...and the longer I denied it,.the more miserable and crazy i became....until i finally asked for a divorce by coming out to my wife in 1987 (I was 30yrs old)...I came out to my family, including my dad...which was challenging, but eventually he came around. I'm now about to turn 64, but am single...my first boyfriend died of AIDS in 1993...and I had 2 relationships that ended after 4 and 6 years...having been raised with straight values, I'm a very monogamous person, which not all gay men are...but...to be happy within your soul, even when alone, is a wonderful thing. I wish you well and know that you are going to have a wonderful life. Oh, my daughter has known I am gay since she was 4, so no problems there...and I have a beautiful 9 yr old granddaughter who has always known...life is good...but I do wish I could find a bf/,husband to share the joys of life with. Post more...you have a sharing and joyful soul and I would love to hear how you are doing now that you are living your truth. Take care and be happy. Life is good.

I wasn't going to comment but I can't not. You know what I think really stinks? It's that in 2021, young people still feel the need to have to hide who they are from friends and parents. I wish that this issue becomes such a non issue that that people don't need to "come out" to anyone and just be able to love who they love. JMHO
