Wing Chun Applications

www.hawkinscheung.com Wing Chung - Applications This demonstration took place in 1998 when sifu was 58 years old. It was un-choreographied and unrehearsed. Neither individual knew what the other would do. The movements were improvised on the go in real time and therefore cannot be repeated. Fights usually end with the survivor standing and the opponent or opponents on the ground. You want to be...

มุมมอง 21K11 ปีที่แล้ว
www.hawkinscheung.com Wing Chung - Chi Sau Hand Body Independence A lot of students learn sticking hands as a fixed movement and response. This does not work against a non-wing chun person who moves and responds differently. In addition to sensitivity, on off, penetration etc. covered in the other chi sau clips the body and hands have to work independent but supportive of each other in order to...
chi sau sensitivity
มุมมอง 9K11 ปีที่แล้ว
www.hawkinscheung.com Wing Chung - Chi Sau Sensitivity Sticking hands chi sau is personal and unique to each individual based on habits of movement, personality, likes and dislikes. If you let these factors predominate you lose sensitivity to feel your opponent and the ability to know what they do before they even do it. You then have to rely on being faster and/or stronger than the opponent wh...
Chi Sau - On Off
มุมมอง 18K11 ปีที่แล้ว
www.hawkinscheung.com Wing Chung - Chi Sau On Off You control and overcome your opponent by turning muscles off and on in balance and timed with his on and off. This is higher level chi sao and a requirement for the older and/or weaker to overcome the younger and/or stronger. You have to work on this skill in chi sao in order to be able to do it and use it. Chi Sau - Penetration
มุมมอง 16K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Wing Chung - Chi Sau penetration www.hawkinscheung.com Chi sau can be done hard, physically or soft. Each requires different skill sets and muscle use. A key factor required in all is the ability to penetrate into your partner. This is a bone penetrating movement and is especially important when your opponent is physically larger than you. To get the penetration your body has to move like a spr...
Wing Chun chi sau 2
มุมมอง 25K11 ปีที่แล้ว
www.hawkinscheung.com Hawkins Cheung - Wing Chun Chi Sau 2 Chi sau teaches one to feel and control the opponent. In order to control an opponent who is larger and stronger than you the amount of their body facing you should lie within the frame of your shoulders. In order to set this up you need to either come in from angle or make the opponent turn to one side. In that way 2 or 3 of your body ...
Wing Chun Chi Sau 1
มุมมอง 27K11 ปีที่แล้ว
www.hawkinscheung.com Hawkins Cheung - Chi Sau 1 Chi Sau is the soul of Wing Chun. It requires coordinated movement of different body parts and timing that takes years of consistent training to develop. It is a separate skill from fighting and separates the talker from the doer. You can be good at Chi Sau but a lousy fighter, vice versa or good at both. The power in Chi Sau comes from the groun...
Wing Chun - High Speed Punch 2
มุมมอง 33K11 ปีที่แล้ว
www.hawkinscheung.com Hawkins Cheung - High Speed Punch 2 In a fight you need to protect your core torso and face while maintaining structure and rapidly responding by connecting and disconnecting your hands to and from your body. www.hawkinscheung.com Hawkins Cheung - Wing Chun Distance Fighting Kicking Distance fighting puts you in kicking range. A timed response is required quickly going from stationary to moving and starting when the opponent starts. Again the power comes from the body moving in while maintaining structure. Wing Chun Principles
มุมมอง 22K11 ปีที่แล้ว
www.hawkinscheung.com Hawkins Cheung - Wing Chun Principles The main principle of Wing Chun is that both sides of the body contribute power to the center line in a triangular or arrowhead fashion. Torso rotation, turning or swinging for reach or power generation is not part of the framework of the style because it removes one side of the body from contributing power to center, requires a wind u...

Not enough Wing Chun people talk about this these days. Everyone is so focused on hand positions and techniques and trapping etc. that they forget about proper structure and how to redirect force. This is the real high level of Wing Chun, and I believe Ip Man was amazing at this.

Thank you Grand Master! Guys its real ! but to save yourself some time focus on body structure not the techniques he can show you all the techniques and you still wouldn't be able to apply them against real resistance because you don't have body structure. Once you have it you can do whatever you like I don't care if he is fighting for his life and he's supper strong . the structure will slow him down a make him feel weak your shoulders will never burn or get worn out because you're not using muscle so you'll never get tired that's when you should try these techniques body structure first then learn the techniques this is a great man that knows good physics respect him!

This on-off technique has been rarely taught from the newer generation of Wing Chun sifu. Very fortunate that this video captured. This is the key technique that many might hear many sifus keep saying to students relax, ralax... relax and have no clue of what relax is for. The trick is to relax in the right time as Sifu Cheung demonstrated as on off then on. Hopefully, this key and hardest to master Wing Chun technique will carry on forever. If you can get the hang of it you can feel a big difference in your speed and power.

The only problem is he seems to have a problem explaining his ideas, you know, putting them into English in an explanation that we, as beginners, can understand. That seems to be a problem among Chinese teachers. The two languages are SO different, that sometimes a teacher has a hard time finding the words, or coming up with the idea he needs to describe whatever he is doing concisely and accurately.
