I did not have any problems. Sold the car and it drove from North Carolina to Massachusetts without any problems. Months later still running fine. Heat or impact can damage a coil. Bad spark plug wires and plugs can overwork a coil causing early failure.

Mine fit fine, maybe take off that long cover and push the tube in a bit more into the dummy headlight space. If seated correctly on the tub then perhaps trim the end that goes into the dummy headlight area. All bits of the plug removed? Hope it works out. Thanks for your comment.

@@hemispherecars5616 I bought the car to my dealer, the 2023 has added a part to the light that restricts the boot from fully seating properly, called the (DRLM) Daytime Running Light Module, so as you stated, trimming will have to happen when I find the time & patients to go through the process again.

Hi del, did your corvette backfires at all? I just bought a 1995 corvette also, 3 months new optispark, new sparkplugs and wires. Im thinking of replacing the ICM & Ignition coil too.

Maybe, I do not recall. Could be that. Have you run any fuel injector cleaner through it yet? I also found that my C4 ran much better on 93 octane. I did several things to make it run smoothly as shown in the various videos.

I just purchased a 1992 C-4 Corvette in March of 2024, I got it legal too drive, and went to take it for it's first drive after sitting for three years in a hot machine shop, and it just stalled before I got on the highway, so I pushed her back into the shop ,I went out and bought an OBD-1 OBD2 scan tool that could not read the computer, so I started throwing parts onto her. Alot of money. After I went online and researched and watched videos I learned a little bit, so I bought a fuel pressure gauge,and tested the fuel rail , it had zero pressure, so I pulled the fuel pump, and it had a blown fuel rubber sending line inside the gas tank, so I replaced the sending unit and the fuel pump, AC Delco all the way, all O.E.M. no Hencho En Mexico parts, now she starts on the first piston compression. But it's missing on a left cylinder, and I'm hoping it's just the spark plugs and spark plug wires. But, yep, on the right side port, I have too pull out the belt tensioner too get too the opti spark, too replace my spark plug wires.

Might have been a bad batch. I once told a locksmith that a batch of bad door locks in the store was why mine could not be fixed. He said that could not be it, never in over 20 years did it ever happen. The next time I spoke to him he said yes the batch was bad and you are going to tell me "I told you so"!

The light receiver socket should be spring loaded. If the spring is broken or too weak, splice on a new socket. Good luck and thanks for t he comment. If there is dirt behind the socket plate shake it out so you can push and twist the bulb all the way in.

I would not drive the Corvette in bad weather for multiple reasons. It was 30 years old and ran fine but I wanted more than a weekend local driver. The hardtop is bolted on and does not add rattles, also its quieter inside. They may have meant a coupe's targa top.

The OEM harness fit. I put on a new heat sink that I bought. Thanks for your comment.

Why did you change it?

Coils gradually fail, so I put in a new one to keep the C4 at peak performance. The old one was 30 years old.

Here is a little secret. If you buy one for an LT2000 and install a metal plate to put it on, it will last decades. I have a new one for an LT2000 just waiting in storage.

Thanks for you comment. Not sure what year it changed or if it did, but to get to the headlights I took off the covers. Just made it easier to see everything and only 4 screws extra for each one. I may have done it the other way on my 1996 C4 but I was working in my former garage with great lighting and even air conditioning. Need to get the shop built.

Ha, just about the same thing here. Branches and whatever have poked a number of holes in mine and I was thinking about doing the same thing or getting a new roof for it. Does your hi-beam light on the dash stay on or how did you wire it?

Sounds good. It's an easy MOD. I did not use the supplied harness's so now I have to go back and install them so the high beam light on the dash go out. I was told that if I just use the headlights that the dash light will not stay on but that has not happen yet. I will give it a little more time because they do not get used much. That will take a long time in the USA and there is a lot of research here on hydrogen vehicles. Views are changing on vehicle types, but who knows. Thank you for commenting.

When it's cool put the Throttle on Choke ( Rabbit ) all the way up. Remove the hood. Take off the air filter ( So you can see the butterfly valve "choke" ) and move the Throttle so it is slightly choked and tighten. You will have to probably adjust it a few times to get it so it starts and runs properly. You might want to have some starter fluid handy. Hope this helps.

Thats always a good idea to replace original parts before they go bad.. I got 2 codes but I have no idea what they mean.... H22 & H63... any ideas..?

Well, your video was good and to the point... I have a black 95 C4 I purchased 2 years ago in April with 87,000 and I too have been charging out parts... the car is totally 100% original.. started with the Electric Fuel Pump, Fuel filter, O2s sensors, Map Sensor, IAS, TPS and in January this year the Optispark went bad so I replaced Spark plugs, Wires, (the original wires had the cylinder numbers printed on each wire) Waterpump, Optispark, Ignition Coil and Module and the car runs better than it ever did since I've owned it... however on the 1st start of the day it will idle fast and I will turn it off when the temperature gets about 135 and then restart and it Idles down to normal and it never did that before.. Clueless?

Mine drops down when 185 or so degrees is reached, and idles down from about 1200 rpms to 6 or 7. Maybe a temperature sensor? Sounds like you have a very nice Corvette. I have a list of things that mine needs, like window guides, speaker amplifiers rebuilt etc. Send some pictures of your Corvette if you would like to see them on my channel.

They give you adapters and instructions on how to wire it properly. Only problem was I did not read that part before installation. I have not worked on it yet as I have three other videos that I need to edit and release. It will might be 2 months before I do the correct wiring. It really seemed very simple just wish I had paid more attention, and did it right in the first place. Thanks for your comment.

@@hemispherecars5616 haha yup went with reliability over the HP. 😂😂😂 By the way I don’t know if you had a chance to work on the lights but if you haven’t…don’t! Lol. I swapped mine, just like yours had the high beams light come on, went for a drive after cycling between the high and low a few times light went away and now it functions as it should. 😊
