They are building their own facility, should be done by December 2025, it will not be shared, it will be their own. And the facility will be closer for the players, also the team is trying to get closer housing for the players as well.
I Am Excited That the Chicago Sky will have their own Practice Facility plus this Facility will Allow for them to practice and stay in the South Side which will help the area Community Grow and I am Loving This !
The Sky owner has brought in new ownership. They may now have the money to out right buy and build out.
I have a Question for you Quita ? If the team rents apartments for the team during the season, what happens during the off- season ?
If they supply Apartments for the team , why not build their own Apartments, and a private training facility with 24/7 access. The facility should have Security, Cafeteria, laundry, weight room, training rooms, and at least 2 basketball courts. If they buy enough land they can put Apartments and the facility next to each other.
It's the owner group strapped for cash or something?
Angel and Chennedy seem like they love Spoon and the Sky org for believing in them, but a player like Kam that doesn't seem to be absolutely invested into the machinations of the team could 100% be lured away to pheonix at the end of her rookie deal. Get sold as on the idea of being the next BG and when they compare practice facilities, it'll be wraps. Sky NEED to build their own facility. Call it the cloud lol
The Sky have a top 5 (CC, Paige, JuJu, A'ja) most popular player on their roster for the next 5-10 years in Angel. With the boom the W is going to receive in the next coming years, I would hope Chicago would want to present itself as one of the leagues premier franchises and invest in a practice facility that rivals the storms. This reeks of still being cheap, and frankly not having faith in Angel and the sky team as well as the future of the league.
Please don’t discredit the Sky franchise for practicing in a scaled down facility and being fiscally responsible. The bottom line is they kept their franchise running over the years. By doing so, they helped improve the league and now are moving to greener pastures. You cannot say that about the many teams that dissolved over the years. At one point, it got so bad that even the great teams folded (Sacramento, Houston, Detroit). Just think where the league would be today, if so many franchises didn’t cease operations. Mind you these teams were in major markets, except for when Detroit moved to Tulsa, which didn’t last long.
They need to bc I just went in on the team leadership.
If the sky can’t find a couple million to establish a facility they have bigger problems with a management and board decision makers. The money and brands are there. The investors are there. Two NBA players could invest in a facility with a 10% return in 5 years. And they would make their money back. Angel will talk someone into it! They had an alumni donate a mil at LSU for the girls new LSU locker room. And it was worth every penny! It’s stunning!
Practice facilities are necessary, especially when most of the players don't get paid much. Having a dedicated facility is not only convenient, but it keeps the players healthy mentally and physically.
Go on the website and yake a look at the facility 116,000 square feet is twice the size of other facilities
That facility is twice the size of the Phoenix facility it can be retrofited to fit a pro team as part of a community complex.
If they going to buy the facility then its move in ready its a beautiful facility. If they gonna rent the facility while they build out new one its still a fabulous facility. The facility has plenty of land around it to build an adjacent facility designed for a WNBA team
I don't like the location. No way I would want to be near the Midway airport traffic plus the large Fed Ex, UPS, hotels, distribution and logistic facilities with large trucks like crazy. I also do not understand the need for the hotel. The Bulls players are known to have lived in the same suburbs. I also do not understand using a facility that is widely used and often rented for camps, tournaments AAU events, community events, and more.
😂❤😂🎉nice video sis
Just build a new centar or you going to lose some good players AR just saying the right thing for now she going to leave
The Team value is skyrocketing. They all are. Chicago is hungry for a winner. Most recent are the Blackhawks and Sky. The Sky need to sell or figure it out.
They traded their best shooter. Sky should practice at the downtown ymca
Ty CC
@@BFM770 Take CC name and stick it up your ssa
Sacks recreational center was the Chicago Bulls original practice facility known as the multiplex until 1992 in Deerfield, il until the berto center was built in 1992
No professional sports team in the US should have any kind of facility problems.
Wintrust Sports Arena can rework walls and build a beautiful facility with the huge complex. Smart idea. Buying ground in a massive city is difficult, then dealing with designs accepted by the city, contracting builders, permits, etc. will take years to create a new complex. Buying the existing building makes a lot of sense.
Man. I thought ppl were joking abt them practicing at a rec center. WT actual F? Let's go Sky! Get ya your own facility. Long overdue.
They could be possibly working on it and not saying anything!
I honestly don't believe Angel Chenn Cardosa or the amazing talent will leave just because of a facility/bldg .. They are building and I believe they will get there..
Agreed. The only city that Chicago could lose AR to in FA in a few years is LV.
Its 20 minutes from Wintrust with no traffic. They need something that is world class with 24 hour access to players. There should be no need for players to have to rent gyms for extra time or go back to their colleges during breaks
My question is when are the Sky moving to the Bulls arena. They have 2 recent college national champs. Their fan base is huge based on population alone. The Sky should easily sellout every home game in the bigger arena.
If the sky could just get a mini version of the Atlanta Falcons facilty Every professional practice facility needs first class locker room, training & physical therapy, strength and condition, cafeteria setup, team meeting room, coaches office, and housing
This is great..I live 5 minutes from the facility and it's brand new and if you haven't been inside you need to take a visit!!🔥🔥
Buying a facility that is already being used by the community for different events defeats the purpose of having their own space. They need to be able to use their facility 24/7 and they can't do that if other events are taking place. They're better off starting from scratch and building everything they need from the ground up.
That's right Quita sell ya city
I thought that they were going to build them their own facility just for them like phoenix, Seattle and Vegas. If they are going to be sharing this then this is not solving the problem
@@keykarissa I don’t think they’ll be sharing the space. I think it’ll be there’s to lease alone.
@@leiannb.wrytes8893The article says they want the facility to continue to be open to the community (which is in line with previous statements by the Sky).
Thank God they get to practice close to the WinTrust Arena I-55 straight shot from Midway
They need to build a facility that’s for them ONLY! With a nice locker room, weight room, physical therapy center etc.. things to make the team comfortable and ultimately successful .. like why is this even a topic, spend the money Chicago! We just copped one of the most popular and talented people in Angel Reese, her and Chenn are building a powerful duo… Why are we not doing all we can to keep them here?!
I disagree if they can buy that facility they can retrofit it for now. We don't need to be waiting three years to build something when we already got something functioning we need players now.
@@politicallil7060 I hear what you’re saying, but the thing is using something for “right now” has potential to linger into long term. Especially if their next couple seasons aren’t that great. Chicago is notorious for not investing in our sports teams. They do just enough to keep them afloat. I feel like if they don’t do it now, we’ll be looking at years for them to revisit this topic.
@@politicallil7060 The storm's facility took just over a year to build. I honestly think the sky should just invest in building their own practice facility.
Don't forget Cardoso
Mf never satisfied
the moment chicago saw how much love this team gets from fans and celebrities and how this team has an identity with so much potential....they knew and if they didn't know i would have told them...because in terms of marketability and profit they got something just as marketable and profitable like many of current teams like new york or las vegas but also literally bringing CC marketing to Chicago and they literally are winning....like i am not for spoiling players but i also recommend you value what you have and chicago has something special and i am not just talking reese, chenn and cardosa but the whole team and coaching staff is special...
In las Vegas the players each got a 100,000 endorsement deal with the city. I wish other cities did the same. That's going to give the Ace's, Mercury etc a legs up. Chicago is a great sports town.
@@bobjones289 in terms of tourism i agree but i also feel towns should own the teams so they also get more control of how teams affect their city and the profit....but yea in terms of tourism i have no problem with what las vegas did with aces considering their salaries and their impact on the city ....now if they were loaded i would want the situation reversed where the team pays the city some money
I agree Quita. When players see what Phoenix and Seattle have done with their new facilities I would imagine they start giving some thought to getting traded. Also, can you see them moving the games to the United Center or is Wintrust Arena sufficient?
I love this for them ... especially after hearing 1 of the reasons Mabrey left was because of the trash highschool/rec center practice facility. Chicago is finally treating these women like the pros they are! Now onto a bigger stadium!
Let's Go sky!
Kysre will be 27 this month
Did Cash Baby try wrestling when she let the Aces lockerroom?
U was my woman until talk us out that lose to the Strom because it went down to fourth quarter and CC had really four allstars naw maybe five but they have two numbers 1s on the team, four number two's on that team so they should be at the top not fighting for a playoff spot
Kysre on pace to marry a $300 million man she don’t give a darn about not getting a contract that’s her contract right there
So she's the young lady that got beat up by her professional basketball player boyfriend.
Chicago has made another mistake all they do is get rid of people now Mabrey has been traded to the sun a team that's already better than they are makes no sense they act like they don't want to get better
Looking forward to your analysis on the trade.
Angel had the cheeks out she showing out 😅
