Hallo Milda When do you come back to the channel? I really love your videos and your lovely friendly and always good humoured Präsentation of your adventures
Hello Milda, sorry I’m a bit late in seeing this. I was discussing with someone about the Christian appropriation of earlier religious traditions, and she mentioned the Green Man and Sheela na gig as examples. This brought me to your wonderful video. Thank you.
Hi Milda ❤ where are you and when you coming back? Missing your videos 😢hope you are ok and all the best from Somerset x
What boots are you wearing?
Access to this mine Haa been made more difficult by the adit that runs to the winch house being filled in I think due to too many ill equipped people entering the mine. That's of course not saying you were ill equipped.
Yes but considering access is still very easy, it's probably not a bad thing.
Are you still alive?
It is naturally formed ?
No, a quarry flooded
Great content as always, thank you.
Its perfect military outpost, there's natural spring water , seeps out of hillside about half way up from the carpark . More towards the now dissused quarry buildings .. definately a stronghold for early Celts,. Then the Roman invasion until they abandoned Cymru in favour of strengthening Hadrian and Antonine walls in the North,.also within easy sightline of the hillforts at Dinas Dinlle ,and Caernarfon. Thanks for this video. Love that area, beautiful Panoramic view 360 and out over Angelsey and the Lleyn Peninsula ❤, happy trails 👣, i hope to return soon, maybe this Summer 2024
Our family has been in the village since 1890 Great place to live And loads of history you have just scratched the surface 👍
I live just behind the magazine you should really talk to the villagers that have lived here for many years. We could give your vlogs/ blogs loads more content You have a few bits wrong but enjoyed your report 👍
Yeah, that would've been great. We were surprised how quiet it was there not a soul. But it was an extremely hot date during the heatwave though.
I am moving to Soajo from Brighton UK in April and cannot wait to inspect these fascinatine constructions in more detail. Obrigado. Maf
It's a rather remote but very beautiful place, I love Brighton too though 😊🤙

Interesting, I'd like to find out more
Hey Milda, where the hell are you?!
I found once I turned off the sound , this video was more enjoyable.
Cant believe I've not visited here. Brilliant video. Diolch.
Thanks, certainly worth a visit, a fascinating place.
Beautiful !
I was born and raised in Wirksworth, I was baptised in that church. The Gell family left a lasting legacy, I even went to The Anthony Gell school! 😊
Amazing, so much history!
Heya Milda❤,how’s it going? Really hope your ok and safe. Missing your videos , all the best from the West Country x
Hey Simon, after 2 months I'm going underground tomorrow 😁. Only locally. Stuff's been happening so I've not had time to edit videos but still got plenty of footage. Hoping to visit Cornwall next year as well.
@@MildaGoesWild Heya Milda, missing your stuff and hope your ok . X Please return with even a two minute short 🎉 plz stay safe , all the best and see you soon ? Love from Somerset
Are you still making videos?@@MildaGoesWild
@@history3585 hi, I'm actively exploring and still have footage but have not produced any TH-cam content for a little while now. The idea is to resume at some point...
@@MildaGoesWild very good
Hi milda where are you in this vid???Cornwall??
Hi, this is South Wales
@@MildaGoesWild ,,,oh wow! thanx for that, looks amazing . Am from north east coast(cleethorpes) lots of mud ,no caves. Just got myself a 4x4 and plan on going caving, nothing major and be on my own, So little mines in woods is ideal for me,,so you defo inspired me .... Thanx milda, I am starting own channel mudfossil UK ,I've got lots of specimens, I just need to get them filmed photo etc, lol. And do some vids like yourself,so well done you, for your channel, I know its easier said than done, so its quite an achievement. Good luck !
Oh yeh and I will check your other vids out ...✌😎✌
You’re a brave girl to be rummaging around in such slippery conditions with deep crevasses.
It's not a dangerous mine that one, in comparison. Still need to keep your wits about you of course.
You have a lovely face. 👌
Wonderful trip again. :) The mine and the mountains look amazing again. Is it hard to walk in a deep water like that? At least you stayed dry, even if not warm.
Hey, generally it's quite pleasant wading in deeper water, almost keeps you more steady but there's a high chance of tripping over if there are ledges and slabs (has happened to me in the past..!).
Thank you, this sounds great then. I would feel more relaxed and I will be careful. Once I will visit a cave and walk in deep water. The same goes for marshes.
Heya Milda, after storming about in those waders I bet that flooded adit felt really good lol. Weathers on the change now and expect the water levels will rise ,restricting access to some hidden mines, next year is worth waiting for though. Keep safe and keep smiling x ❤All the best from Somerset. ps what about the make-up ? You always look great . 😊
Very true, some mines are know to flood almost to the ceiling in wet weather. But it's a good time for finding adits once the vegetation has died down for winter. Yeah, I have no idea, the trolls will rear their ugly heads once in a while but I have no intentions of stopping wearing make-up! Or change the colour of my wellies for that matter 🤣
omg so much makeup for an exploration... What are you doing ?
A great weekend hunting for mines. 😊 We certainly burned off a few calories trying! 😂
And sweated out quite a bit of weight too 🤣
@MildaGoesWild Ha ha . Yeah definitely. 🤣
I’m surprised you haven’t explored Lliwedd copper mine. It’s mahoosive!
Not that's it's of no interest but it's up a mountain and the adit is collapsed shorty inside - the alternative is treacherous open stopes above. But there's some good surface remains i hear.
@@MildaGoesWild it’s quite high up, that’s true. I haven’t heard of anyone who have been inside. I’m a tree surgeon so I might even go up myself with my climbing kit for a proper mooch around. There are bolted anchor points on one of the scary big adits. Scary place actually. Too scary for a GIRL who wears yellow wellies!
Thank you Milda and Team, it seems you have taken over from Chris now 😊 Was expecting it to be flooded more due to the heavy rains. Should be Uave drone Aeromagnetic Survey over Clogau next month. How was the new Torch.. In another 150 years, they'll be saying this was Milda's Wellington boot print😂
Thanks Stephen, me too I was thinking waist deep as mid Wales mines are very wet. Is that Alba surveying the surface? Hope they can dewater the Llechfraith soon. You're right, and once my wellies are worn I might have to leave one in some mine for a lucky find 🤣
@MildaGoesWild Yes Alba, just been unlucky with the rainfall. Your video of Llechffraith adit, must of been the last one since the safety work. I visited and saw all the old timbers and ladders outside.
@@stephenbirch5635oh dear, all the old timbers... but I'm happy there is going to be mining, and hopefully NRW will be more reasonable with the pumping limits this time. Forgot to reply about the new torch - yes was looking for something very lightweight but bring, got a Sofirn as they're super waterproof and happy with it. Also Ledlenser sent me a replacement as the one I for before was terrible so hope to try that new one out soon too.
@MildaGoesWild I thought and hope those timbers would of been saved. I think on your video, the timbers and ladders were in the adit. NRW have been slow, especially when you see the drain pipes under the ground near the Llechfraith Adit pouring into the Afon Cwm-Llechen. Yet the Llechfraith levels are clear and clean. I met Mark Austin at Dolgellau, he is a Good person and very excited. Plus the Waste Tips I got lost walking to Clogau Gold Mine up the hill.. the bracken was so high but the view was lovely. You do so well finding these mines. 6 hour drive, traffic at m25 (a3) and Birmingham.
@@stephenbirch5635 they are slow and frustrating considering Alba asked for the correct levels within the original application. But hey ho.
Yay Milda , I must be old because the mention of a good shaft had me sniggering 😮, but I once again admire your true courage in going through those crawls . Absolutely amazing blue shaft , I don’t know what it is about seeing clear, clean deep water like that but it gives me goosebumps of wanting to swim in it , freezing cold or not . So thank you beautiful for a great upload and plz take care of your lovely self ❤ . See you on the next one 💯🏴all the best from Somerset x
Hey Simon, ha ha the joke is on me 🤣. I think we're all programmed to like the blue water through evolution, it's clean, and so little blue in nature anyway!
What a great explore, really interesting mine, great that you were able to find the shaft. Do you know how far down it goes?
The so called Imperial Shaft (flooded) connects to the mine above in the valley, level above and below. The other winze we visit earlier in the mine connects to a mine adjacent/below in the valley and I wanted to test that but didn't have the right bolts and hangers to hand.
@MildaGoesWild are you planning a return trip with bolts? Lost Mines channel have a ROV they send down flooded shafts, that shaft would be perfect for that, maybe a collaboration between channel's. Would be cool to see what's at the bottom 😎
@@p.m3735 possibly I'd return although there are probably better places that would take the priority but why not. Not as much into the ROV business I have to admit, not the same when you can't proper feel and touch it.
Have you ever tried Sealskinz socks? You can get ones that are knee length. They have a jel like rubber taping on the inside of the cuff which stops water going down if you go into deeper water. You could just wear crocs to go into mines then and be perfectly dry. Don’t say I don’t do anything for you, Milda.
🤣 crocs, they should be illegal. I've got some neoprene socks which are similar but my view is that if it's not over waist then it's good for you 🤠🤟
@@MildaGoesWild I don’t suppose you’ll be changing your channel’s name to MildaGoesWildinCrocs any time soon then?? And they even come in yellow!
Oooo👀. Definitely haven't been there... Not for long though 😁
Ha ha that's funny, now you have to go there 3 times 😂 for real. Do be careful with the little vertical, it's very loose.
@@MildaGoesWild Thanks for the warning Milda... It may be a while as I'm up in Snowdonia next month for a holiday... Looking in.... Mines👀and some walking. Exciting 😁
Thanks once again Milda. Very nerve wracking watching the crawls, got to admire your courage. Stay safe x
Thanks Gwyn, these were little crawls fortunately, the vertical after the first one was a bit scary though knowing a collapse could bury you in...😬
You visited a wonderful mine again! When your light illuminates the water, it is amazing! Deep mud can be challenging. I encoutered it when I was exploring a marsh and it was sinking a bit. But the waist-deep water sounds a bit better. :D
Yeah better than waist deep mud - I'd be worried!
@@MildaGoesWild I understand you. In my videos you can see how struggling the swamp was. If you ever encounter deep mud, move slowly and try to lift up your legs as much as you can. Then it will become easier. :)
Heya Milda,WOW! Bloody beautiful water , and what a lovely exciting way to cool down. I still think you have bigger balls than most blokes venturing that close to an obviously deep windlass on a false floor. Your always worth the wait with the exciting uploads , thanks lovely ❤, all the best from Somerset x
Hey Simon, I did chicken out from going past it further in but apparently it doesn't go far... Hope you're having fun too 😁
@@MildaGoesWild I wish 😆, Friday is here but have to work tomorrow so fun isn’t on the menu unfortunately. Love your channel and wish you had the time to put more out , how selfish of me . Take care lovely Milda x all the best from Somerset x
Spettacolare Matilde 👍⚒
Grazie Giuliano 😊
Tree climbing hey, cool
Yeah why not! 😊
Always hanging around Milda 😊
🤣🤣
It's cool to see you getting a taste of tree climbing!
Was super enjoyable
Heya Milda, great to see you ❤you should have done video on the sofa , take care and see you soon. All the best from Somerset x
Ha ha that was on the other tree - no idea how they pulled it up there, wanted to show off the pulley systems I guess!
I never knew how interested in mines I was until I saw your videos.
Brilliant 😀
My favourite place it’s so beautiful The water definitely make the entrance more special And the wooden rails too, I’ve climbed up the old shaft on the rope, it’s all caved in
It's rather unique. Good to know about the shaft.
Heya lovely , hope your ok , not heard from you for at least …… a thousand years 😊 from over the bridge in Somerset
Hey Simon, yeah I'm ok, needed a bit of a break from social media but it happens. Hope you're doing well 😊
@@MildaGoesWild Hang in there my lovely, social media can be such a twat , especially when you get wronguns . Take care and see you back soon x
A nice mostly unchanged hand carved level with some later mining where the miners backfilled the level rather than take it outside.
Yes, with these backfilled levels you can only assume the whole thing is backfilled and not just the first portion blocked up hiding further passages... These old miners were quite meticulous though, so I have trust in them.
Oh yes, I found the Latin hard to decipher because of the font as well😏
Ha ha. Latin is weird, sometimes so similar to Italian, sometimes completely different. A lot of it in Welsh, too! 😁
This was really wonderful, Milda. You're a great narrator, and the history is fascinating.
Thanks 😊
Heya lovely Milda , lovely engraving !! Sheela -na- gig is probably the only woman depicted in a carving of that age, minus a tunic . Thank you for a spectacular video , love this history ❤️ All the best from Somerset x

Thanks for a really interesting story Milda. Fascinating.
