I finished the Stephanie Plum Series when my kids were in school and i read while waiting to pick them up. Grandma Mazar was a hoot. Laughed out a lot. I really liked the books with Diesel and Lizzy the baker, but i don't think J. E . will continue that storyline. So happy to have found this book to listen to. I love these dear old ladies and their antics. Will listen to it again. Thank you for sharing. I guess i don't have a problem understanding the accents used bc my dad was in the military and i have lived all over. The narrator seems to be spot on and very entertaining to me. Thanks again for sharing😂.

Saw a bumper sticker once that said , " Friends don't let friends patronize Starbucks!" Hate to see indie coffee shops struggle and eventually close. Think ...then congregate and caffeinatte ..locally :)

Kent born and breed here. So weird hearing about the Military channel and the dykes. Darn scary things at night, no fences, Narrow twisty roads no street lights. Dykes full of reeds look like grass till you drop 6ft into water. Wye Downs with the Crown cut out in the chalk. With the Devils Kneeding Trough looking out over Kent below. Happy Memories.

No Bill no listen!

This makes me realise two things. The guy who adapted these books for radio is a better more exciting writer than simon brett and bill nighy has made the charles paris character literally his own because the comedy isn't in the book. This reading isn't good either.

This was enjoyable and the narrator excellent but l missed all the actors including Bill Nighy for their characterisation in the radio dramas. Perhaps re-do this one with Bill Nighy and co?

is hashtag a new um or swear word yuck will not be listening to any future books by the author never want to hear hashtag again. Sounds like story is aimed at a 12 year old but with adult players so not sure. The story was great but please hold the hashtags

I hate these gay theatre books

This is less crash bang and more like a book.

Remember that this series always play music before the final chapters. For suspense I assume. Anyway very entertaining.

The ending was not that great, just stopped abruptly with the dog licking the nutty mans hand!!🤔

So now i have the radio version of Simon Brett's Charles Paris as well as the full length books. HEAVENLY.

These are such a treat. Especially when narrated by the author himself.

That’s the author, Simon Brett, brilliantly narrating. I love Bill Nighy too but it’s a different book experience with Nighy-a radio play. Sometimes it’s too much-I just want the book read to me-not acted out.

Ok, I’m beginning to get the hang of solving Simon Bretts’ stories; took Me kind enough to see the pattern!😆😄 This was a great-one, so well written and read; I enjoyed it immensely. …Re the ending, I’ll just say: I’d hoped not. Thanks so much for this!

Carole Seddon's neuroticism and "always the victim" mentality are exasperating, infuriating, and annoying. She overthinks everything. I don't know how Jude puts up with her.

Yet another story ruined by the musical noise before last chapter. Resulting in the end missing. Disgusting and Disgraceful
