Reading from Fairy Folk Tales of the Maori by James Cowan published in 1925. This retelling is not the true version as there are likely many. I had a bit of a hard time figuring out which location is where. Patreon: www.patreon.com/OceaniaLore182
Old Religion of Samoa (Old Samoa, John B. Stair) | Polynesian Myth | Samoan Gods

This is a reading from Old Samoa or Flotsam and Jetsam from the Pacific by Reverend John B. Stair. This was probably written in the late 1800's and then published some time in the 1908's. This source is not an accurate picture of traditional religion as the author was bias against native spiritual practices but also did not witness them firsthand as they were already going extinct by the time h...

The inaccurate and misleading AI generated imagery detracts far too much from the storyline, which has to be rooted in local indigenous Fijian culture, spirituality and prehistory; otherwise it becomes just another generic "Hollywood-ised" movie plot.

Vinaka vakalevu for naming this. AI is a tool but it comes from the kaivalagi hive mind. The images help paint a picture but are not resonant because they lack mana.

The narrative on the creation is similar to Genesis and the account of Noah after the flood. There is a definite Jewish connection some where.

I just found your channel and I’m so glad to hear it is run by Pasifika people. THANK YOU / VINAKA VAKALEVU, this is very responsible and it’s awesome that you’re taking accountability instead of just culture farming in the name of views. Preserve the mana. ORAL TRADITIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE. The bridge appears as you walk it, props to you for forging a new path / unearthing forgotten ones. Malo
