Thank-you, Rick Darcy for calling Eric Dickerson the Greatest Running Back of All-Time! It's about time we have somebody that knows how to rank the best running backs. The three single season records you listed above are what I always mention to people when we have greatest running back of all-time arguments. Dickerson never even gets talked about in the top 5. Walter Payton once thanked Dickerson for going to the Colts. He told Dickerson that if he had stayed with the Rams he would have owned all the NFL records and told him the Rams messed up badly by trading him away! That was so true. Thanks Rick!

Prime Dickerson is probably the most complete back in NFL history in my opinion. Fastet Running back to 10k yards. Anything beyond that is just longevity in my opinion.

Slew was a beast of a horse, and I'd put him Top 3, of "all time" and maybe 2nd only to Secretariat. I think he would have won the shorter races against Secretariat, but not enough to take the Belmont, as Secretariat had too much stamina.

He was great but I think Barry Sanders was better....

He wasn't just a nightmare to NFL defenses, he was a real nightmare to the Rams front office. You could always count on ED to hold out on Summer training. It was always for more money as his legs were uninsurable.

One of the most pretty runners too. My ideal backfield would be Larry Czonka at fullback, as a good extra blocker for Eric. I've have Devin Hester handle all punts and kickoffs.

The thing that freaked me out was when he said " I never looked behind me when i was running " Watch the video again and its true he never did

many may dispute but if I was creating my dream team, there is NO way I don't have ERIC DICKERSON as my main bell cow RB. I can't name anyone that, all considered, I put above him. A prime, uninjured and healthy Todd Gurley is my 2nd.

He always struck me as a money man. Not a champion like an Earl Campbell or Tony Dorsett of Franco Harris. I liked to watch him play for his athleticism, not for his heart.

In college, you had to wait for the Mustangs to go on defense before taking a bathroom or snack break. Between Dickerson and Craig James, one was likely to take it the distance on any play. So much talent in one backfield.

I had a good experience with UHaul using a 15ft box truck and and a car carrier. The only hitch on the trip was the wheel strap on the carrier kept slipping off so i called roadside assistance and had to wait 1.5hr for the technician to arrive as he had to drive halfway across the state. Took him 15 mins to change the strap.

Greatest first 4 years to a career ever, regardless of position. Only one close is Jerry Rice, who had a slow rookie year. Dickerson 1808 yrds rushing as rookie(record) 20 total TDs as a rookie (record). 2105 yrds rushing in a season (record). Most rushing yards in two years 83, 84, (record). Most 100 yd games in a season(record at that time in 84).

His ability to cut and shift to find holes was key to his success. He really had a sixth sense to finding holes and then using his speed and height (stride) to gain massive yards

I was at the game against the Oilers when Dickerson broke OJ’s record.

Loved Dickerson BUT Barry Sanders did incredible things with nothing that even resembled an offensive line. Imagine him in Dallas in the 90's, behind their line: there wouldn't even be a Jim Brown debate.
