I was confused by that too, but of you need reference go search up the dr martens backpack it essentially works the same way and there‘s a lot of videos on it! (btw ur haul is soooo cute!)

I'm not sure if this will work, but sometimes backpack bags like the Swimmer one are meant to use one strap. You connect one side to the bottom, loop the strap through the top, and secure on the other side. Try it if you like and see if it will work this way.
