Hi. I make silly videos about painting miniatures and Warhammer stuff.
I batch painted 15 Necron Canoptek Wraiths so you don't have to.
Hello! Today I paint the core of my Warhammer 40K Necron list, canoptek wraiths ! I run 2 units of 6, and 1 unit of 3, with technomancers to make them cancerous. As always, I go for true metallic green metal, with a heavy streakign grime effect. This time, this is not about doing them the best I can, but the fastest possible because I want to keep my sanity. And as a true warhammer player, I'm already preparing my next army ;)
Enjoy this one !

Hello there. While I fail at NMM gold, let me explain why it's still an opportunity to learn. Today I share with you how I painted my transcendent C'tan for my warhammer 40K Necron army. He's one of the last pieces I need to get it fully painted. I'll be abusing the airbrush, then try to transform an idea I had in my mind, into a beautiful helmet for this guy. what's the music when the enamel is coming off?
Another Pogo track, that I pitched down and adited to avoid copyright issues :D original track : Bloom from Pogo
Did you forget the scarab in the debris? Trash... =p Kidding. I really like that you include the blend of green in the living armor. Most people I see just go with a one tone base color. Granted, they probably don't care for lore accurate painting. I plan to paint, my first minis ever, Thokt Dynasty scheme.
Hey Moose welcome! I did paint it, without showing the footage to keep the video watchable :p you have a keen eye hehe.. Thanks for your kind words. Well, if you gor for the same idea with tainting the metal blue, Thokt Dynasty might look badass as f*ck! Good luck on your first minis! What are you going for? Soon enough I'll have a discord where we'll ba able to share pictures :)
I love the effect on the eye you make, very good looking 👍 also, i just want to know, are you a french comrade? You got a strong accent, anyways, have fun with your next paint :D
Hehehe Thanks! Oui je suis Français ;) I don't try to hide my accent at all, I just focus on being articulate! A bientôt camarade..
i guess these proxys are spiders, maybe destroyers but i lean more to spiders
Destroyers ;) well played! Just got to use them yesterday and I can't wait to paint them, weird designed models you'll see!
Amazing Video I wish I was as good as you. Just wondering how did you get so good, and what tips do you have?
Hi Dixter, thanks a lot for you comment. This is a paint job I've already practiced on lots of models so at this point it's mostly muscle memory haha :p My first tip would be to just get better at the most basic things, diluting your paints for example. It's still not a given for me..
awesome!
Thank you! :)
Love the work, but why woyld you stop making necrons ? pls dont ;(where doomsday ark? )
@@vought19 oh but I have so much more necrons to do.. don’t worry ahah. Also, where anihilation legion buffs?
Oh no... Not your friend assembling drones 😭
@@LouisXVI_Vevo drones are useful on the table. Especially in 10th lol
They look excellent!
Hey! Glad you like them :p Have a great weekend!
Very fun vid
Thank you! I really appreciate it. Cheers :p
This one came out a bit late sorry! I won't show myself suffering during the airbrush day, but I can assure you it didn't go smoothly. I have to say, painting is pure pleasure and fun until you have to transform into a factory :) And you, what was your last big and painful project?
Clicking through on pause while I'm on hold on the phone. Ho-leeeee. That green chrome look using the warp lightning. I may have to reappropriate that for my Skaven rat ogers, I've been trying to think of how I wanted to do their shoulder armor, but Army Painter's straight-up green metallic paint wasn't the exact right vibe.
Also, again, love the opening skit and intro. I did watch that before the call hahahaha
Hello again! Thank you so much :D I haven't thought about doing any other army with this technique, because I wouldn't want all my armies to look the same. But I have to say, skaven would look fantastic with this metal effect indeed. If you're patient enough.. I finally got to play all my painted wraiths yesterday (you'll see in my next video maybe), and they look awesome on the table. Btw, albino rat ogres would be awesome with armor plates this way. I might try it, since I plan on starting AOS with my gf (with the new starter set).
@@hubespaintshop I was thinking albino/greyish for them, too!
@@CardsOfFate niice :p
@@hubespaintshop And if you do jump into the Skaventide fun, I can't wait to see what you do with them!! With either side!
i can ensure you its not your approach on the nmm. it doesnt matter if u start from dark to light or from mid tones, i for example start from the dark go directly to the highlight and do the mid tones after that. your nmm was just missing secondary and tertiary reflection. just look up how others place their reflections and your nmm will look great 😄
You're absolutly right. I think part of the reason I didn't even think about reflections is the image reference I used and tried to copy, instead of just going for more natural nmm. Well, I'll try again with this in mind, with more confidence. Thanks a lot your highness :)
Nice
Thanks Viannob glad you liked it :p
Love the vid! You did a great job! Also, super duper love your opening. Short, simple, shows off the model, intro is engaging. Sorry for being so inside baseball (double sorry, I don't know a French equivalent of the metaphor) I think the model looks fantastic, the mask kinda reminds me of the cover for Haze, the PS3 game. It has a very "organic" gold look to it, awesome!
Thanks a lot for your kind words man ! i got the metaphor ;) You bring me back to some old memories with the Haze ref! Cheers and welcome :)
I love your work, will try this. Keep it up!
Thank you very much :) glad to be of some help!
Funny how this model makes me think of a Yiga clan member from Zelda breath of the wild Awesome result man
@@LouisXVI_Vevo sounds like yiga chad. Anyway, I don’t know what a Zelda is.
Can't comment on what I would have done because I am not nearly on your level. I am looking into getting my first compressor and airbrush though, got any recommendations?
@@ryanberget8603 😅😅 well depends on what you want to use the airbrush for (priming and base coats, or details and effects). For the compressor, what you want is one that comes with a tank (constant pressure is better for mini painting). Fengda is a very popular cheap brand, and you can find lots of good deals on amazon for example. For the airbrush, the thinner the needle, the better at small details it will be, while getting more and more expensive. A $30 one will be perfect for learning. If you want to know more hit me up on instagram! Cheers
Almost done with necrons! (For now) Enjoy this one and have a great weekend!
Great song choice choom!
Hehe thanks ;)
very nice recovery.
Thanks No body and thanks for the support :)
Looking sweet. I often do wet blending on tthose power balls. Makes things faster and the result is satisfactory.
Thanks mate :) I haven't thought of that, might be far better than tesseract glow, and still fast. Thanks for the suggestion!
I am loving it! It catches the mood of some of the artwork. Maybe you could put some gloss varnish on the eyelense to sell the effect more. looking forward to the next videos! Cheers!
Thank you very much Alexander. I just got myself some gloss varnish for future projects, I'll try it on the next wraiths. See you soon !
Paint job came out great. Very Maverick editing though... a bit too much so maybe

Hello there! It's finally time to paint my canoptek wraiths. I don't know if you do this too, before batch painting, let's maybe just try one first. Also, discord, yes, no?
Great work. What is the song please?
Hey ! Thank you ! I used 2 parts that I mixed together, taken from Cyberpunk OST: The Rebel Path by Marcin Przybyłowicz, P. T. Adamczyk, Paul Leonard-Morgan
@@hubespaintshop Thank you 👍
He came out glorious! Love to see a good golden boy
@@S1Sigma Thanks! Golden boys are always a pleasure to paint indeed.. Cheers!
Looks great - I'd recommend using a proper respirator when airbrushing though, particularly for enamels like Streaking Grime which you definitely don't want to breathe in.
@@arf You’re right, nasty stuff. These days I use a construction mask, will soon upgrade to a real respirator, I’m starting to see weird stuff ngl..
You forgot bros eyes he blind as hell
Hahaha, well let's say he's squinting :) Truth is I couldn't even see the eyes anymore after stripping the paint off. So I prefered not to paint them and make a mess. Cheers :p
@@hubespaintshop fair enough lol
That intro was so sick!
haha thank you !
You would probably make your own from spare parts, just make it look like a mass of scarify parts held together by maganatism, use a wire frame and just sick vaguely Necron parts to it
Again, very good idea. I've given up on using resin proxy for my canoptek wraiths, but I'll have some spare parts from official models and I'll defenitely try to create some sort of monstruosity kitbash :p
looking great! tomorrow my Necrons will face Trajann and his golden Boys.
Thanks ! Well good luck on your game, what are you bringing to the table ?
Hey man, thank you so much for the save and love the result! It will go nicely with my warden pack that I just finished. Now let’s hope he’ll bring me joy on the table as well
Thanks again for your trust and gl hf :)
I’ve got the iwata eclipse so I don’t know who similar they are, but my main trick is keeping a Dixie cup next to the airbrush. Nearly all my clogs, especially when priming happen in the nib, but you can’t access this with paint in the cup, so i pour it into the Dixie cup, clean the nib and poke it through and your back to work, same with spluttering and that’s 90% of my cleaning done. Just pour the paint back in and continue. That (and forgetting to tighten the nut and push the needle all the way in) are 99% of the issues with the airbrush sorted. No more clogs or splutter
When I have clogging issues, I just clean the tip of the needle with my fingers, but I have to do it very often, or dilute my paint more. But sometimes I don't want to dilute more. So I'll try your technique next time. Thank you very much for the input !
It's amazing 😍
Thanks ! 😊
I hope you're all doing great ! For future projects, I'd like to know what you guys are working on, or playing at the moment. Please share !
What model is this?
C'tan shard of the Nightbringer, but it's a Resin proxy I found on etsy.com. I'm working on a video where I paint it's cousin, a transcendant shard proxy coming right from Ukraine :)
My favourite tool thus far has been Convoy H1-headlamp with Nichia 519a-LED for its high CRI at 4000K colour temperature. It uses rechargeable 18650 batteries and cost ~30€ with shipping. Although it was from AliExpress, so it probably cost all kinds of personal information too😅
Hahaha you never know with these websites.. A good headlight and a proper LED is actually a very good idea. I'll have to make myself a portable painting station sooner or later, I'll keep this in mind thanks !
Never thought of using an oil wash like this
This is one of the main reasons I got back into painting :p
Just discovered your channel, hilarious and talented. Looking forward to seeing the channel grow
Hello Gekzify, thanks so much for your comment and welcome ! See you soon ! Cheers
These will be perfect for my Sci Fi D&D campaign and they're only £25, I heard Warhammer minis were expensive but thats cheaper than a Dragon or even a Beholder mini
What model are you talking about ? I think this doomstalker might fit very well in a sci-fi setting as you said. You can get even cheaper ones with 3D printing. Talking about Beholder, jesus you just gave me an idea :D Cheers !
Lovely video! I’m debating doing N.M.M. for my first squad. I don’t know if I’m biting off more than I can chew but I’m starting the hobby mostly for painting and building anyway so what’s an extra few hours per model 😂
And thanks for your lovely comment ! I'm guessing you're going for space marines ? You will learn a lot.. Doing nmm on a whole army will look amazing if you have the time. If I started an army of let's say Grey Knights tomorrow, I'd just do nmm on a few characters..
My first time with such detailed layaring technique (not exactly nmm cuz it was about necron hyperphase blades but the technique is the same i guess) was pushing pigment around, realizing its going to take ages, screwing it up trying to cut corners, get frustrated and strip the paint, trying again and give up. Then i figured out an aero masking hack that let me get where i was happy and never tried nmm again.
Ouch.. I think it's a "love it or hate it" kind of thing. I prefer a more direct and realistic approach so I'll do some nmm sometimes just to practise.
I love to watch your videos during my morning poop
That's good to hear. I'm glad to be of some help :)
It looks really good! I only tried NNM three times and what i learned is to have no fear about it and to make the contrast more extreme than you think.
@@alexandermanthey-romei5397 thanks! That’s very very good advice too. Cheers!
