We will explore key aspects like self-discovery, understanding your core values, aligning your actions with your true self, and the critical importance of strengthening yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually. I’ll provide practical tools, insights, and even life work exercises to help you navigate this journey of personal and leadership growth.

    Amish have alot of internalized pain and mental health issues. Here is why I think so. Negative thoughts Negative thoughts and beliefs can destroy confidence and self-esteem. The more someone thinks negatively, the less able they are to see themselves and the world around them accurately. Childhood trauma Feelings of shame and worthlessness developed in childhood can lead to low self-esteem as an adult. Bullying Bullying can lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness, and can worsen self-esteem tendencies into adulthood. Bullying from Parents specially in the community. Strict rule of thumb. Trauma, sexual, objectification, Trauma can lead to chronically low self-esteem, and one study found that the higher the tendency for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the lower self-esteem tends to be. Perfectionism Perfectionism can lead to stress, unhappiness, and low self-esteem, as well as decreased performance and negatively affected health, creativity, and working relationships. Belief systems Structured belief systems that offer two paths, one that's all good and one that's all bad, can lead to feelings of confusion, wrongness, shame, and disappointment with oneself

    Its hard to connect to the divine with too much limitations organized society at large is not very different from the strictness of the Amish just different rules often adding up to much insanity. Are you really "leaving the Amish" or are you just following Gods calling to "spread the Amish" elsewhere into the world where you now live by personifying the best aspects of your culture to connect to those who never grew up in it? Hi Emily! I am curious about a few things. First, when did you realize that the Amish were a cult? Do people within the community see that? What estimate would you give, percentage wise, for how many Amish would like to leave? How do you believe is the best way to help these people? Do you believe there is a lot of child abuse in the Amish culture? And finally, how did you get a perfect American accent, not a Pennsylvania Dutch one? Was that something you worked diligently at, or did it just happen naturally with time? Thank you for your wonderful videos, they are fascinating, and they, along with some others that I've been watching as of late, have definitely succeeded in taking off my rose colored glasses, regarding the Amish! I used to wish that I had been born Amish, but now I am so thankful that I wasn't!

    • @EmilyAdams_
      @EmilyAdams_ 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I realized at a young age I didn't fit in and then started questioning things and saw things weren't lining up when I was a teenager. I would say 70% want to leave and the community doesn't see it because they are living it and don't know better. As for my accent I did have to work on it and still catch myself at times talking improperly. Yes there is a lot of abuse in the culture. The best way to help someone when they do want to get out is to give them resources and knowledge so they know how to navigate the world that is new to them. One day I'll have a non profit for this!

      That's awesome that you want to help people@@EmilyAdams_ ! It's crazy and stunniing to think that 70% of the Amish would like to be out. 😳 Knowing what I now know, I can readily believe that's true. Thank you for answering my questions, and I have one more: What do you think of the Amish romance authors, making Amish life seem very idyllic and Godly? Do you think that they just don't know any better, or is it about turning a blind eye, to sell more books? I used to be addicted to those books, but now I am aghast by them! I'd love to know yours, and other Amish people's opinions. Thanks and wishing blessings to you and your sons. I love your videos; they're very interesting and informative!

    Hi Emily, I'm just curious to know whether or not you were subjected to any kind of child abuse for you to have left the Amish culture. I came from a family of domestic violence and kicked out of home at 16, just because I signed myself out of High School and being told you should have been dropped down the s##thouse(long drop - out house) head first the minute I was born, has never left my memory. My life was probably the complete opposite of yours. Trying to make a life for myself in this world full of greed and no natural affection wasnt easy, let me tell you! 😢 I knows whose life I would have preferred. This world has gone to the pack! Oh, the old Love of money hey! It cant buy health, genuine friends, love and most of all a loving family. We all have a story to tell, some worse than others, but GOD is now living in my heart moreso than ever before. May GOD watch over you and your boys 🙏

    Hi Emily, I came across your YT channel. Lately I have been watching a lot of Docs re: Amish and most of them seem genuine ie, The Graber Family "Breaking the Silence" and other videos as well. I raised a daughter & son from 43 yrs ago as a single mother, I never married and have come to realise that throughout my life there is good and bad in all cultures & religions. If you knew what I had endured from people, it would make your hair fall out, so to speak. We all have a story to tell in some way or another. I am now 67 and still single to this day and very recluse. I find that the less people there are in my life, the less problems I encounter. I chose celebacy over a relationship, no more hurt that way and my trust is shot to pieces. My support has been my faith from what Jesus teaches us which keeps me strong. I hope your life will be a good one. Sending you love & best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤ JJ
