Short local flight to try out the new camera mount position. The Soaring conditions were not great, but it was soarable. Thermals averaged about 300 fpm. If you look closely at the OLC IGC trace, you will see consecutive loops near the end of the flight.

Spring soaring in the Sierra Mountians flying from California City. Contouring the ridge. I know the music is a bit weird. It was the only thing I could find that was long enough to play for 20 minutes. I will find better next time.

Starting from 14,500 ft I pick up speed to 100 kts and then complete 2 loops over Mt. Whitney in California Sierra Mountain range. There were people at the top taking pictures of the crazy guy flying upside down.

Practice day for the cross country soaring season from Inyokern, California. We typically fly 500 to 1000km and need to be comfortable landing in farmers fields or on dry lake beds that are as short as 500 feet. Recent practice helps to keep stress levels manageable when landing out.
