Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid: Tow Test + child seat instal | Extensive Review | BestFamilyCars.com.au
Big-family SUVs are going hybrid and Hyundai Santa Fe has changed, but is it for better or worse? Has one of the best affordable-luxury 7-seaters gone soft on towing and hauling? Is all-wheel drive, a big boot and a full-size spare enough in 2024?
Can it accommodate your family, or does it fall short? Let's find out...

It is inevitable you will have to replace your family 4X4 wagon, and it's scary thinking about LandCruiser alternatives. With modern 'driver assist' pseudo-safety equipment coming in every new model, these are yo...

Why large 7-seat SUVs are good: not great feat. Kia Sorento | Scott Murray BestFamilyCars.com.au
มุมมอง 2157 หลายเดือนก่อน
Big 7-seat SUVs make sense in Australia because they serve multiple roles. They're great for putting lots of bums on seats (even the unexpected ones), or they serve as oversize haulers for adventurous families who like to get away on weekends and school holidays. Or they can just handle general running around with ease. But they can't do all of these things in a full-time capacity. In this repo...
Mitsubishi Triton extensive review | BestFamilyCars.com.au

Family utes are big in Australia because they can get hard work done and handle family matters. But has Mitsubishi actually made it good enough to qualify as your next new family ute? Priced to about $65,000 for the GSR, Triton is excellent value and highly capable. Visit BestFamilyCars.com.au for more and to save a bit buying your new ute.

Lots of car reviewers only pretend to test utes like the Mazda BT-50. But they don't give consumers like you the answers to real questions you might have when spending $60-70,000 on a ute. Mazda BT-50 is not perfect which I'll show you, including why it's a grown-up ute with family friendly inclusions that make it a multi-purpose workhorse. Child seat installation in a midsize family SUV: Volvo XC60 Polestar
very strong very good lobas body frame
Great content. I think the only video which shows the hybrid towing. Is it possible to have 2 child seats and a adult in the second row?
The seat belt can lock thats very important for no movement. Just when you click the buckle after pull the seatbelt all the way out.
The lane keeping system is off by default when the vehicle is new. Either the dealer or someone else who drives the vehicle obviously turned it on in the settings. Just spend 5 minutes on the manual and figure out how to turn it and other nannies off. The vehicle manufacturers will not remove a feature because you don't like it. It saves lives when drivers fall asleep at the wheel, such as in long overnight drives.
The way you shut that tail gate at 10:07 is pure gold LOL after hearing all the whining about oh its heavy we need gas struts bull in other reviews this is how a real Ute is used 👍
That's one fugly rear end.
Long live the long roofs!
Wagons forever.
I got one of these bad boys on order 😱😎
Me too bro!! 😎
As a Land Cruiser Prado owner, I really admire the Subaru Outback. And I think you have demonstrated why it's also known as 'The Thinking Man's SUV'!
I knew it would!
Excellent and practical, real world, review of the new Triton! And what a hoot too! Loved the humour - especially driving and talking to the camera!🤣🤣🤣
Put tape over that face sensor!
I am a Triton fan. Doesn't Matter what's its competition. I hope to buy the 2024 model soon.
You over tested it, mate
hope sarah n tuned had an epic pride month!
Thanks for the honest review. On my shopping list for 2025.👍
This guy is boring!
Did you take the key out of the ignition?......
Thanks for the review, by far the most realistic and useful commentary, well done, thanks again
Great honest review!
Lower specs 60k is worth the buy for full off-road
In the US, we also have the option of real full-size three-row SUVs like the GMC Yukon XL and Chevy Suburban. We switched from a Chevy Traverse and Toyota Sienna minivan to the Yukon XL when our four kids were getting bigger because the Yukon XL had more cargo space behind the third row and more space for seating in all the rows. We also opted for captain's chairs in the second row, which allows third row passengers to get to the back without needing to fold any seats. The regular Yukon and Tahoe just don't have much space behind the third row with the seats up, like the Mazda CX-9, etc. Here's our video from 6 years ago when we were looking for the big SUV: th-cam.com/video/WpKKh7cPrjA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=auA8F216rN1yzHOG And from the day we picked up the Yukon XL: th-cam.com/video/nfZ-aKmGTdM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Mw3N8-626q89uNXl&t=536
All those driver warning chimes around the 22:00 -25:00 mark would do my tree in if you can't turn them off permanently.
New subbie here, loved the review. My question is, as the Triton has got larger now, how does it compare size wise to say a Lux or Ranger? Interior and tub size?
Yes, it does compare.
Triton has always been the budget mid range option in comparison to others. This will continue other than comparison lower options from china
Rule 1 know your subject matter before you do a car review .
Ranger killer😂😅😅
How different turning circle with a 2 door?
Just discovered your channel, great job mate. Subbed up
I test drove the new one the other day very nice ute to drive only downer is that the dealership said i cant put a tray on it as the adblue tank is attach to the tub they said there might be a conversion coming in the future
I have heard rumors these are required to run AD-Blue is this accurate? Actually a reviewer that discusses load and tow ball weights especially during a tradies perspective.
First thing I do is turn it off.
Thanks for the video it was most useful. As per the volvo XC60 manual however the top tether should pass underneath the rear headrest, i assume this is to prevent it from slipping down. Not sure if you did this in your video as the headrest was down
They always been good but always underpowered, it be hard for any 4x4 company to beat the power of the v6 diesel 184kw that’s a big difference towing a caravan or a boat.
I’m a biased Triton owner, love it. Just don’t like the brown orange colour
Doesn’t matter what colour crap comes in its still crap
No it's good
Installing child seats is so much fun. Especially in utes, and especially in hot weather when the buckles are nice and warm... Nice review mate.
Mitsubishi should be the number One, why they say it number three ! selfish and negative thinking negative marketing, the best engine diesel MIVEC of the years awards to Mitsubishi
Nice shirt! Icehouse rocks!
Welcome to the Icehouse. Iva Davies is a genius.
This review has me definitely leaning towards the 2024 Triton should I need to replace my Pajero any day soon. Maybe I skipped and missed the fuel consumption part of the vid? I like what Mitsubishi has done with this Triton from camera to engine, to how it handles on & off road, this Ute looks Beaut!!
It's a significant improvement overall. I didn't talk about fuel consumption because it's a bit irrelevant in the context of diesel work utes. Diesel is 20% more economical than petrol. What matters is how you drive it. If you're a lead foot, you'll use more than a feather foot. Fuel economy is better than a Ranger. Does that help?
@@ScottMurrayBestFamilyCars Wouldn't that be true of every car?
Playing different set of rules what is that about or same as American rules banned Mitsubishi cars from entering and marketing in USA no can't do that market is open how come they are blocked 😂,Mitsubishi is the oldest first made japanese car mitsubishi can build anything bigger higher class standard highest technology modern car because mitsubishi have ability biggest companies factory in Japan such as building Ship aerospace engineering train nucklear power plant electronic electrical small and large factory machinery banking real estate agent that why mitsubishi is the king number one king of the champion can build mitsubishi pajero evolution holding Guinness book of world records,Fiat fullback and Titano , Nissan navara same alliances shareholders, dodge ram Chrysler USA is the similar doublet of Mitsubishi Triton car
I'm a fan of their Heavy Industry products like their air-conditioners.
Yeah bush cutters is the best made by Mitsubishi, escalators lif jets fighter satellites handphone and many many factory heavy machinery build by Mitsubishi
Can the driver warning system be turned off? Could be a deal breaker for me, it would do my head in.
Like to know as well
Generally speaking, yeah they usually can be. Problem is, with all of these systems, I already have enough to focus on. I cbf spending time at the roadside trying to figure it out inside the infinity menus. Give. Me. Buttons.
I have the last model, the door opening (small) and turbo lag, which was its downfall. I test drove the new one and its not bad even though I think ill go the Ranger
The thing for me, with buying a Ranger, is I don't really think you get much of significance for the extra $10-15K. A power outlet in the tray? Whoopdidoo. Plug into the mains, like every single proper tradie on every building site. What else is there on a Ranger apart from the V6 for seriously heavy daily towing? Triton does 90% of what Ranger can do.
Would also add that Ford have historically been poor at honoring warranty (speaking from personal experience and spoken about amongst industry experts)
I'm hearing you. Ranger way overpriced and the engine and gearbox problems are still ongoing.@@ScottMurrayBestFamilyCars
Ranger killer??..... 😂
Rangers are shit
Haha the only review to chuck some firewood in the tray, classic.
Love the review, good job mate 👍👍
No. Just no. It’s shit compared To the rest.
Everyone has an arsehole so everyone has an opinion, you stick to yours, I am buying the GSR👍
Reasons?
@@timdissanayake1502 low on power and torque, bad off road clearance, no power in tub, 6 speed auto, iPad on dash blocking view, no dampening in tailgate, your better off getting a mid spec ranger or Hilux you’ll get more features, power, and reliability.
@wizzylizzy69 don't go comparing Toyota reliability in the last 10 years with Triton...doesnt go in Toyota's favour by quite a margin.
Where did you go to test one? Did you give it a really good testing to give such an informative comment. Was it really that bad????!!!!
Out of all reviews I have watched from Australia, this is the most well balanced that focuses on the qualities of the vehicle instead of constantly pointing out features not on par with the Ranger. A practical review purely focused on the vehicle, thank you so much sir.
Thanks, Max. I wanted to focus on the real story with Triton. Everything else it does with ease. Good little truck.
This was a very great review , i like how you shown practical things Such as putting a car seat in Loading the tray with goods You also covered alot of the technical things. Hopefully Mitsubishi gives a permanent option to disable that driver monitoring system
I test drove one today. Very impressive it doesn't feel like driving a truck. And you can turn all these features off.
Dzień dobry from Australia. Triton does everything you could possibly ask from a dual-cab ute without going to a proper truck for daily heavy use.
The driver monitoring system doesn't cope well when you are wearing sunglasses! Nice to see a review which doesn't just compare the car to the Ranger when commenting on every aspect of it
